OmarIsuf calves are genetic, ive been going to commercial gyms for 25 years and God as my witness ive never seen ONE guy with monster calves even train them, i cant even count the guys ive seen training calves brutally hard with calves hardly big enough to hold their socks up, theres a guy in my gym who literally uses 6 plates on seated calf raises and his lower legs look like he has a muscle eating disease in them, he literally looks like he was born without calf muscles and he does full reps with no bouncing, its the craziest thing ive ever seen, then we have a girl trainer whos calves are enormous and detailed and I asked her once what she did for them and she said shes never done one specific exercise for them
RandomGames i've actually done this lol. I was over 220 lbs for about 3 years and because i was short i was used to walking of my toes, now i'm barely 140 and i have great calves
Nick Sarjveladze not juts he a look he is the most humble man on youtube. If you have any question just ask him on his channel and you are sure that he will respond to you. By a qyick answer or by a whole video
thought this was a calf-free channel... This really triggered my SCSD (Small Calves Stress Disorder) on the real tho, solid vid and huge shoutout to the boy Brian Alsruhe, he's a boss and his suffer beauti(ful)ly video is amazing much love to both of you #TeamNoCalves
Agree with the overweight situation. Automatic calves. Love Brian! Just incredible, humanly stuff from the guy. We need more Brians in society. What excuse do those of us blessed with a normal body have really? Get strong people!
First time I'm ever commenting on one of Omar's videos. I enjoyed this guest speaker a lot. Will definitely incorporate the things he said to my routine.
I did my first pull up in three years two weeks ago, weighing in at 308lbs. Now I can manage 2x3, and I will keep on this fan-fucking-tastic progression!
I've been doing the farmer's walk since I started watching Brian's channel two months ago and have progressed from 38 kg (82 lbs) to 50 kg (110 lbs) today. It felt like my biceps were going to be torn off the bone.
Brian is AWESOME! Omar, you're the man responsible for my introduction to him months ago. You guys definitely have sone of the best content on YT for lifting. Thanks for having him back!
Nice video. This got me motivated to do the farmers walk and start doing pull ups again [ been doing pull downs]. Beautiful montage at the end of the video
Guys, this whole "he uses steroid so why would I listen to him" broken record whining will get you no where. He offers great advice, he is a true veteran in lifting, and a strength coach/gym owner. He knows a bit about training people. Stop being so ignorant as to think no advice will be applicable to you just because you took the "high road" and went natty.
BluFF I put " " around high road because the position so many of these people take is that anyone who use steroids in order to be competitive are liars and cheaters. Even in a sport where steroids are almost mandatory. My use of quotations mocks this idea some have that steroids are immoral. Which is quite funny really. As for me, I haven't taken any PEDs.
PermanentHigh If all of Brian's lifting advice was true? Lol of course Brian is gonna have more gains due to he probable use of peds and the fact that he has been lifting for 13 years longer. Thats not the point of my comment though, his advice is probably effective. Of course it wont result in massive arms and all that for everyone or in half the time.
Thanks Omar, for once again showing Brian on your channel. Since you first had him on the channel, I subbed to him that day. Brian is awesome, and his message is fantastic. Now... if only Apeman Strong would sponsor him!!
Been training my calves faithfully for 30 years. What made them grow was running steep hills (with cletes) and running with a weighted sled on grass in addition to heavy calf work. Wearing a weighted vest or carrying light dumbbells helped. My squat also went up.
Larris Liew Alex doesn't have SHIT on Brian. Alex is one of the most unathletic lifters I've ever seen. He's uncoordinated as hell and some of his forms are cringy bad. On top of that, it always seems like Alex is either defending himself or his routine and/or bashing other routines or exercises. He comes off arrogant and dogmatic. Don't get me wrong, Alex knows what he's talking about, but the dude's attitude makes him hard for me to listen to.
atrizzleness - Agreed, he's like a youtube commenter tired of winning text debates and deciding to do it in video format instead. Everything seems like some internet debate war with him like he's trying to score points or something.
Been doing farmer's walks as a finisher for at least a year (a little over bodyweight total) and it's had a noticeable impact on my traps and forearms. I'm guessing it's a major calorie burner too. I see so many guys in my gym shrugging with a pair of 45 pound plates, shrugging in the smith machine, shrugging with dumbbells...but almost no one in the rack pulling weights as heavy as he can go.
"STEROIDS!" *has only trained for a year* *has never done a weighted pullup* *is mad about not being 240 lbs. of beast* It's okay, kids. Continue shouting steroids, Brian will continue being Maryland's strongest man.
Ketone Conde yeah I mean it's actually insane how quickly people throw ped around. It's not rocket science, look at his fucking training weights and volumes... if he was juicing there's no chance in he'll he wouldn't be 300+ lbs. strongman is the most ridiculous when it comes to peds and full body musculature... WSM competitors are 400+ lbs even when the don't have a huge gut.
@@hippo6billion811 I would take it as a compliment! If you're natural what's wrong with people thinking you're not? Just means you look better than other naturals out there.
The key is to do both big compound movements with heavy loads and isolation work just control the volume on both, want big triceps? Work up to a set of 10 with 315 on close grip benches or if your elbows can take it a set of 10 dips with 125-150 pounds hanging off, being able to barbell row 365 for 8-10 will help your biceps grow and THEN throw in the isolation stuff
Also an idea for Mr DIY who's handy... farmer walk heavy weight idea. Make rebar into handle shapes. Make wooden mold from 2x10 or 2x12 big enough to hold the minimum weight made of poured concrete you can carry in each hand. Make your rebar ends point out of the front and back of the molds so you can add plates or more concrete weight. 80lb bag of concrete is like $10? Bending the rebar is going to require heat. If you have the vision and bring the bar to just about any mechanic shop and explain what you want they can bend it for you. I'd use 1/2 inch to 3/4 plus wood around that for some sort of creature comfort. But at the end of the day it's a cheap dirty way to make two 150+# dumbbells and if you're clever about your wooden mold form it can be shaped to be curved around where your legs will hit them.
The time has come...it is time to talk about calves. Brace yourselves.
what would suggest if you have bulging disc and cant do heavy loads
TheRoyalFreshness69 but pubes got bush ?
OmarIsuf when is the Q&A?
Omar get on steroids to see how big you can get. This is your dad speaking
OmarIsuf calves are genetic, ive been going to commercial gyms for 25 years and God as my witness ive never seen ONE guy with monster calves even train them, i cant even count the guys ive seen training calves brutally hard with calves hardly big enough to hold their socks up, theres a guy in my gym who literally uses 6 plates on seated calf raises and his lower legs look like he has a muscle eating disease in them, he literally looks like he was born without calf muscles and he does full reps with no bouncing, its the craziest thing ive ever seen, then we have a girl trainer whos calves are enormous and detailed and I asked her once what she did for them and she said shes never done one specific exercise for them
1 get fat 2 walk around for years 3 lose fat ... instant calves
"walk around for years"..."instant".
I've lost 100+ pounds... still working on weight loss... but my calves look nice :)
I can confirm this works (well if you're already fat). Heaviest i've been was 297lbs and after I cut down to ~200lbs my calves and legs were sexy af.
can confirm, i lost 100lbs and still have huge calves
RandomGames i've actually done this lol. I was over 220 lbs for about 3 years and because i was short i was used to walking of my toes, now i'm barely 140 and i have great calves
Brian is the man!!!
Szat Strength you too man. GO FOLLOW THIS GUY !
Szat Strength you are awesome bruh
*no offence to Omar and all. But Brians channel is one of the best out there. And a super great individual* 👊
Wolfspider enig
"no offence to Omar but he had a great idea having Brian in this video" why do you say no offence?
This guy is awesome ! Hope to see him again on your channel !
24 years of lifting? holy shit, this is what I call a veteran athlete
Nick Sarjveladze and this big man calls himself an intermidiate lifter haha
he looks like the most humble guy i've witnessed so far among these lifters
Nick Sarjveladze not juts he a look he is the most humble man on youtube. If you have any question just ask him on his channel and you are sure that he will respond to you. By a qyick answer or by a whole video
i cant believe he does not have more subs. he is so informative.
Matt Schobey his channel is still relatively new. In time it'll blow up
TLDR version for exercises
1) 3:35 Weighted Pull-ups
2) 6:05 Farmer's Walk
3) 7:45 Front-loaded Carry
4) 10:15 Block pull / Rack Deadlift
Omar had someone to talk about calves instead of himself...... well played good sir.
I'm not saying it's going to work for you
(It'll work for you)
"A fuckin' pencil. Who the fuck can do that?"
John Wick's pencil i liked the comment because of your account name and not the actual comment.
John Wick's pencil i like the comment cause of the comment and the name 😂
Dragen Thatch I like your mom
Gotta love brian aslruhe. I first subbed because of his ohp video on this channel. Im happy to see him back on
thought this was a calf-free channel... This really triggered my SCSD (Small Calves Stress Disorder)

I've been doing the farmer's walk since I started watching Brian's channel two months ago and have progressed from 38 kg (82 lbs) to 50 kg (110 lbs) today. It felt like my biceps were going to be torn off the bone.
This guy is awesome. I approve of everything he said, it worked out for me.
The way this guy appreciates, simply shows he has a heart of gold, subbed.
Brian is AWESOME! Omar, you're the man responsible for my introduction to him months ago. You guys definitely have sone of the best content on YT for lifting. Thanks for having him back!

this video introduced me to brian's channel and changed my life! cheers omar.
Nice video. This got me motivated to do the farmers walk and start doing pull ups again [ been doing pull downs]. Beautiful montage at the end of the video
I smiled so hard when that boy got the ball up. 😀💪
Brian works with a lot of adaptive athletes and they are accomplishing some pretty awesome stuff! He has a lot of cool stuff on his channel.
the truth is that I almost cried....that was glorious...mad props to that kid

I legit teared up.

NKP I have no issue
with people roiding. Jus be honest. If Brian's story is true which seems to be the case then I believe he's natrual
his advice work for natural guys
Brain is awesome. Great to see him featured again.
Always love seeing Brian

team no calves checkin in
David Olvera Am I late?
YES! Finally someone who doesn’t promote isolation fluff exercises
My two top youtube channels, brian and omar. Keep up the good work guys!
Brian's enthusiasm is infectious

Finally some more Brian!
Another great guest and topic .. thanks Omar
Brian training methodology is intense as fuck. I remember subscribing to Brian's channel years ago.

Alphadestiny is joke compared to Brian.
Victor Noskov I like Alex but Brian > AD all day, Brian is humble yet alpha as fuck!

perman07 It's odd, isn't it? I mean the guy is strong and he has good info so I really don't know why he's so insecure and defensive.

at the end -dam these invisible onion cutting ninjas
I freaking loved this video. Thanks man.
Love watching alpha's vids!
Brian .... who doesn't need brian in his live LOVE BRIAN
More of this guy. I like this guy.
6:37 What's that about not doing curls since high school?
Performance Fitness he doesn't do curls, his bicep development has come from strongman implement training and lots of weighted pull ups
Kieran Richardson Bullshit, he's doing curls in the fucking video.
DerpMode he's just doing that to demonstrate them he doesn't incorporate them in his training
DerpMode just to show in the video. If you are a strongman why do curls
Jokes fly over a lot of people's heads nowadays LOL
Definitely going to incorporate carrying the sandbag into my routine to build up my calves. Great info here
subscription done. he is a rare kind. no swear but coming through. excellent.
Cheers Omar and Brian... MAD!!!
Brian you rock man. Thanks for sharing such great advice and the Suffer Beauti(ful)ly project is dope as hell! Cheers from Venezuela

Like this dude a lot! Never heard of him before, definitely gain a new follower
"STEROIDS!"

SBfully video made me tear up. I'll be buying a shirt looks like.
It's my birthday and look at this! I get a video from two of my favorite youtubers!!
That outro got me and teary eyed
Brian is awesome! You guys need to do a collab video Omar!
Nice to see you 2 collab together
5:46 that grip strength!
Also: this guy gets it. Strongman movements for traps. Case dismissed
Need more of this guy
