For your question here is the answer -
Buying an ETF on the open market involves trading units with other investors or market makers, not directly with the fund itself. Your order gets matched on the exchange, and the units travel from the seller's account to yours through a clearinghouse. The Mutual Fund AMC isn't directly involved in individual trades, but manages creating and redeeming larger blocks of units based on demand.
So, who are you buying from? It could be another investor selling their holdings, or a market maker providing liquidity from their inventory. Regardless, the source doesn't matter as long as you get your units at the agreed price and they safely reach your account. In essence, you're simply swapping ownership of existing ETF units in a secondary market, not purchasing new ones directly from the fund.

Thank you really interesting video. I recently started a MF based on Nifty 200 momentum 30. What I liked about ETF is it seems it has strong returns despite not going on high risk stocks with a clear preference on large stocks. However, one thing I noticed on nifty 50 alpha ETF that despite their stronger differentiation towards mid cap and slight small cap their Beta doesn't seem much higher than nifty 200 momentum 30. So they are managing risk very well ?

see you can invest in nifty alpha 50 index through any etf or mf. it depends on you. Kotak etf has also good volumes and has better control as it is traded on stock exchanges. Both of these are factor indices. The Momentum 30 index is based on the principle of buying high and selling higher, while the Alpha 50 index is designed to measure the performance of the stocks within the Nifty 50 pack which have high alpha value. In terms of performance, both have shown strong returns in the past. For instance, the Nifty Alpha 50 has been the best performer in terms of CAGR, followed by the Nifty 200 Momentum 30 index. However, the choice between the two would depend on your investment goals, risk tolerance, and investment horizon.
ETF has advantage if you are into trading else one can go with index mf. ETF is for slightly mature investors as there are many things to look into while mf is for new investors too. It depends which side u are. Your and my views and goals might be different.

I will make a small video on this imp topic. but for now try to understand that it all depends on your goal, time of investment and risk taking capacity. iska matlab agar aap ek risk taker hain tab apne portfolio men 25-30% small cap rakh sakte hain wahin agar risk nahin lena hai tab ise 5-10% bhi kar sakte hain. dekhiye small cap se return badhta hai portfolio ka par yeh adhik voaltile bhi hota hai. best hai ki agar aapka goal long term ka hai...matlab 10 saal se adhik tab small cap ka faayda hai. maine yahi baat apne pichle video men bhi batayi thi.

Very good selection. Good volume etf and mid cap index. dekhiye return ka batana to mushkil hai kyonki ye oopar neehce hota rahta hai par past data ke hisaab se agar aap in 20 saalon men 17% ka avergae index return lekar chalen tab monthly 2k sip 20 saal baad ho jayegi kareeb...40 lakh.

Aap confuse mat hoye. dono midcap 150 ko track karte hain so return almost same hi honge. ab nifty bees ka volume bahut adhik hai par mirae ka bhi badhiya hai. It depends aapko kya badhiya lag raha hai. par agar meri raay pooche tab personnaly i like nifty mid cap 150 bees.
