This is the best representation of Rong'er imo, the cleverness seeps through each one of her facial expressions and her movement. Little things like her pointing the dog-beating stick at Yang Kang, and when Yang Kang goes to try and grab it, she pulls it back behind her back and brings it back around with her other hand all at the same time while she is speaking her dialogue. Very very good acting. . she HAS to be a fan of the novel or there is no way she can have the character down this good. Not to mention she is very pretty as well, as Rong'er is supposed to be. =))
This is tricky.. In the past (1983) Condor Heroes was more a martial art drama so Kwok Ching was more the protagonis than Yeung Hong. Her status here was more like a key character who guide/pave the way to Kwok Ching to become a hero. The audience wants to see the actors fighting using martial arts. The 2008 ver. felt more like Jiang Hu politics mix with Song-Jin-Mongol politics. Huang Rong (Ariel Lin) was not only cute and naughty but also evil (She did evil thing to those bad guys in the name of justice for her own sake and her love ones). The 2017 ver. depicted more about romance, sadness, happiness, betrayal and much more about human emotions. Huang Rong (Li Yitong) was not only beauty and clever/smart but also kind (She did outsmart and give the bad guys many lessons in order to protect herself and people dear to her).

Nah the new one for 2017 is the best. Li Yitong is the best actress for Huang Rong.
