  • Today, I will discuss how much money we are making on TH-cam and my thoughts as to whether it's worth the time to pursue it as an income stream.

About: As time has progressed as a full time RV couple, I have been evaluating the income potential with TH-cam as a platform for an income stream. There are a lot of factors that go into building a TH-cam income stream. After a recent video by Dan Becker on his channel for backpacking regarding the amount of money he makes with 400,000 subscribers, I've determined there are much better ways to make an income; at least related to the time/benefit/return factor.
Another video by Jeven Dovey brought to light just how quickly a TH-cam Algorithm shift can take a creator from making good money to nearly nothing over night. I simply am not thrilled with the idea of the kind of prison to the rhythm this creates. I have considered it's likely better to be my own boss and not on the hook and attached to TH-cam and what they say and think and feel on a given day.
So in today's video I am going to talk some about my thinking on that matter as well as how I plan to proceed forward.

I managed a big youtube channel before the creator of it suddenly passed away. I could tell you these days, it's harder than every to break into TH-cam and actually have some success with it. Most segments (such as say RV living) of YT are already dominated by creators the algortithm likes. It takes years of consistent posting to really grow it. Anyone I consult with these days, I always tell them, do it for fun and if you get a break and the channel takes off, great. If it doesn't, it doesn't. Most of the successful creators I know now, have multiple income streams based around the platform. They sell courses, merch and of course affiliate linking in addition to Patreon. Also sponsored ad slots. Just off the top of my head, one of those is you could consult with RV owners on solar setups remotley once you get accredited. Learn how to use Visio and build plans. I watch your channel not only because I own a 2306BHS FLX, but I also like seeing the places you go (gives me ideas) and the cinematography of the landscapes is very well done. All the best!

Thanks. I really appreciate this input. It's helpful as well as an affirmation that my instincts on the platform are correct. I believe it's going to be a far batter expenditure of time to invest in a "real" job moving forward. However, will continue to put up content as I like making the videos but, again, they will be videos that I want to make because I like the content. Nothing more. Now? Working on what you mentioned. Trying to determine how, if at all, we can build an income stream through various means and methods.
Have a great day and thanks for being here.

Thanks for watching. As always, appreciate you being here. I will begin adding inventory to the site for sale. If you aren't yet subscribed to the blog posts, you may want to do that so you know when the "store" is added for the sale of prints, canvases, metals, and acrylics.

Lol, God would never have showed you two a path on selling everything , sounds and seems very selfish. Good luck on your next hundredth career/adventure in your life. You Tube is absolutely not for you two!
PS. Be more respectful to your wife, you should include her name in this You Tube channel.

Selling everything = Selfish - Great example of an Oxymoron. Very fitting, considering the source. Irony fits as well coming from a man, over 50, whose life has been living off the back of his wife (if she hasn't left you yet) and his mother. Thanks for dropping by.

The thing is...the arrogance it would require to publicly proclaim that you have a personal insight as to why or why not God leads people to certain places would need to be astronomical. Arrogance and ego are killers, my friend. I would recommend taking a step back and considering why watching an innocent video about TH-cam production would illicit such a response from you. Did you spend enough time on this channel watching every video to gather the intel necessary to make the judgement call that this man is not respectful to his wife? Do you know for a fact that she's even fully invested/interested in the process of production for these videos? Have you talked with her personally and therefore are voicing her opinions on how this channel should be run? Or, rather, are you unnecessarily inserting your opinion where it doesn't belong and making a bad call? If you have been spending enough time on a channel you don't like just to waste time on things that rub you the wrong way and then actually believe you are going to make a shred of difference by berating the content, I'd ask you to truly decipher whether or not that's the best use of your time.
I currently had nothing better to do than reply to your comment and give you a taste of your own medicine. That being inserting my opinion and giving advice when you did not ask and I know nothing at all about your life. See how shitty that is? Have a nice night.
