@@HighRoadMusician did you have a metal round coupling at the bottom or just make your box flush with the finish ceiling and attach your grill to your MDF box? Trying to figure out that last detail for mine. Thank you!
@@GregoryGuay I don't quite follow your question. What's a metal round coupling? If you watch the studio build playlist on my channel you can see the full installation of these boxes. Here's the main one: th-cam.com/video/Uzsa6_M3MN8/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=HighRoad-MusicTutorials
Hey Andrew - not sure if you're still active on here but just wanted to thank you for producing these videos. I'm building a similar space down in Gippsland, Victoria and these videos have been a fantastic resource. Quick question - do you happen to remember what foam you used on the silencer boxes?
Glad you found them useful. The foam was Dunlop acoustic foam from Clark Rubber. However, I’m told this is not recommended as it’s flammable and prone to deterioration over a long period (hence the mesh). If you can find another type of acoustic foam that’s not flammable that may be a better choice.
awesome video, i hope that you see my comment, i have a question from you, how much air does this sound maze pass through?, the reason i am asking is that I'm building quite server rack cabinet, i need to know whether the amount of air passing through this is enough for my server, I'm planning on putting just one server in my server rack.
think of server as a computer case, in your mind the amount of air is enough for that?, or you think that this sound maze is much bigger than what i need?, i need enough air flow for a computer case
I can’t remember exactly how much air flows through per minute. I think it would depend more on the fan you place on it and what speed it is set to. This silencer box has very little air resistance as the passage is so wide, so I’d say it’s mostly down to your fan.
Nice video
Can anyone recommend the best vent grille to use in the room?
I just went down to my local hardware and chose from what they had. It needs to match the size of the channel within the silencer box. No smaller.

@@HighRoadMusician Thanks mate - much appreciated!
Thanks for the upload, how is it working
It was working well when installed but I moved house a few years ago so I don't know how it's doing now.
@@HighRoadMusician thanks
