@@guillaumemaranialvado6471 I had written a 360-Navigation-App that was already in Beta testing when Apple decided to deprecate OpenGL and replace it with Metal. I am not a mathematician or graphics programmer and it was hard enough to deal with OpenGL and so I decided to opt out on Metal and drop the App. I still have it on my personal iPad Pro 12.9” (2017) and it is wonderful to navigate through 360 spherical videos with a dynamic steering wheel on one thumb and a dynamic gas pedal, zoom or look up/down function on the other thumb. No jerky movements, everything turns like a gimbal smooth and according to your input. You can also use your device as a remote control when watching videos on the big cinema screen when connected to a projector, just like a game controller... - And if you are lost in the sphere a simple tap on the steering wheel scrolls you smoothly back to a predefined center that can be reset to any position by the user. So when recording I just walk steadily with my 360 camera always pointing into my walking direction and the rest can be done in realtime when playing back the video. No need to edit the videos because there is always enough to explore. When you see something interesting you slow down your gas pedal even to zero speed where you can look around without having to comply to the shooters speed and pace at recording time. When you’re done just slowly speed up again and continue your exploration...
Hi Ben, if I want to use it with the editor (what I did many times before) you must buy the app now - for €37 €! Very expensive! Only with filters it's still for free - but that's not the look I like. Is there a good and cheaper alternative? Thanx!
This app was fantastic for hi-resolution output, but latest version seems to have now made that a paid-only option, which kills it a bit for me, especially as the 'pro' version is REALLY expensive. Shame. 😕 Back to Theta+ for me for now.
The horizon levelling feature alone is worth having this app on the phone for. I'm amazed the Insta360 app doesn't have that feature given how frequently the camera gets it wrong.

Yes they did... and 360 video is still used as 360. However the demand for it is low, hence why the other directions such as reframed 360 content & virtual tours thrived, since the demand is actually there on the B2C and B2B levels.

I would really prefer to stand corrected here but I doubt that will happen ;-)
Actually there were/are 3 apps... veer editor, collect and v360. The reason there aren’t more is because the demand isn’t there, combined with the fact that the standard resolution for 360 video in 2021 is 5.7k and almost no phones can handle such large resolution. If you want to edit 360 video, use a desktop editor like Adobe Premiere.

This app is awesome, it works with a very cheap camera I have and also with GoPro Max. Many nice features such as face detection. The app was developed by a former GoPro engineer.
Can you tell me, are there any 360 cameras that feature the ability to overlay a TIME/DATE Stamp or at least collect that data so that an accurate TIME/DATE stamp can be added in post? Yeah did installed this APP in my Android Note 10+ and iPad mini 6. It started working well, but in short time it stop react to pencil, and said APP have a bug...... Lots of futures became payable , but anyway agree this IS really cool APP, IF IT FIXED BUGS>>>> Thank you, long time your subscriber. P.S. Maybe IF I buy PRO settings then it became normal, afraid IF NOT...
Update; after report Bug problem to Developer, APP was fixed for both Android And Apple users ! So now another question : yes it working with 360 Photos, BUT 360 Videos only after Reframing, or Any Flat video can be loaded... So 360 Video format from camera (NOT reframed) no way to upload even in the phone... Should be corrected in advertising. P.S. To my opinion, even for reframed 360 clips make sense to use this APP, However after phone/iPad clip reframe (in Insta360 APP) loosing MUCH in quality... I'm right ?

Dear Ben. I am using 360 reshoot sotware to perform virtual tours. But which software to use (IOS, IPAD) to assemble 360 tours together such as for houses
Keyframes don't seem to be working as they should for me. I'm trying to produce a video from a photo. If I add a keyframe at the start and then a second at say 10 secs in and zoom in at that second keyframe the video doesn't move smoothly from the first to the second keyframe. Instead nothing happens for the first 8 secs and then all the movement is in the last 2 secs. The end result is more like a slide show with transitions rather than a video. Is this what's supposed to happen or is there a way for the transition from keyframe 1 to keyframe 2 actually start at keyframe 1?
The app is free to download, but after creating my video, I cant save the video to my phone unless I upgrade to pro. Do you have any other alternative apps I could use?
Question... I am looking for someone to build an app that will display all my 360 videos. These would not be 360 videos that I edited with my Insta360 software, but videos that would be completely interactive (i.e. so they could look at whatever they want to). A bit off-topic, Ban: Can you recommend an iOS app for best rectilinear 360 capture? The stock iOS Camera Pano mode works almost flawlessly when the camera is mounted with lens aligned with the nodal point. But oddly, Apple doesn't allow you to capture full end-to-end rectilinear 360. (Maybe they are planning to enter the 360 hardware market at some point and don't want to cannibalize iPhones?) DMD Panorama DOES do end-to-end rectilinear 360 capture, but not without stitching artifacts, even when the lens is at the nodal point. Thoughts? Tawk. Diskuss...

Is it possible to edit regular video with 360 video together? For example if I were to combine video from my phone with 360 video, would that be possible? Would the metadata injection cause an issue with the regular video?

I really like your content and is really helping. I have a problem with my footage recorded on my insta360, by accident it recorded with exposure at max. Is there anyway i can adjust the exposure?
"open the GoPro app, go to the media section, select your clip or clips, and then click on the blue arrow at the top of the screen . From there you will have the option to "save to phone". Nice tutorial as always, Ben! I assume that photos and videos from Insta360 cameras have to first be exported from their proprietary file types before editing? I don't recall your mentioning that in the video.

Hi Ben, I always enjoy your 360 videos, so continue the good work. I downloaded the Reshoot 360 app to both my iPhone and iPad and in the past I have used the Insta360 OneX app to process my photos and videos. When using the Insta360 oneX app it accesses the .insv or .insp files directly from the 360 OneX camera or from the downloaded files on my iPhone (iPad) - I assume they reside in the app's database. I know this may sound like a stupid question but when I come to use Reshoot 360 app to edit videos and photos it only gives me the option to take them from my Camera Roll (Photos on iPhone). The .insv and .insp files do not reside in the Photos area of my iPhone or iPad. What point am I missing here? I'm a little confused.
I have same question, as a new APP user... what I found is yes 360 photos with NO problem, BUT 360 movie clips ONLY reframed, actually not 360 file already... Anyway, like this APP and going to PRO mode... TY. (Only one year since your post 😉😄🤭)
@@BenClaremont sorry.. my comment too brief, sounds bad, my apology. I find this app not useful for group shot, and the output just not good. For scenery, or with the photographer or the subject in the Center/nadir, then it dose make the transformation/convolution very simple and easy. If it allow reposition of the photo before transformation, then it may be good. (Maybe it is already there and I haven found it). As it is, it is not suitable for group shot or photo where the camera position is not at the optimum place.

@@BenClaremont If one has a modern one it does ... sometimes OK. I have the original Mavic Pro, and the one it creates in app is reality low resolution and heavily compressed, and generally poor. The Mini 2 does very poor stitching, showing pinch marks and poor blending at the extreme ends. Thanks anyway.

Is it possible to edit regular video with 360 video together? For example if I were to combine video from my phone with 360 video, would that be possible? Would the metadata injection cause an issue with the regular video?

"open the GoPro app, go to the media section, select your clip or clips, and then click on the blue arrow at the top of the screen . From there you will have the option to "save to phone". Hi Dan, I don’t.. Facebook is the only one I can think of for photos and TH-cam/Vimeo for 360 video.

Nice tutorial as always, Ben! I assume that photos and videos from Insta360 cameras have to first be exported from their proprietary file types before editing? I don't recall your mentioning that in the video.

Hi Ben, I always enjoy your 360 videos, so continue the good work. I downloaded the Reshoot 360 app to both my iPhone and iPad and in the past I have used the Insta360 OneX app to process my photos and videos. When using the Insta360 oneX app it accesses the .insv or .insp files directly from the 360 OneX camera or from the downloaded files on my iPhone (iPad) - I assume they reside in the app's database. I know this may sound like a stupid question but when I come to use Reshoot 360 app to edit videos and photos it only gives me the option to take them from my Camera Roll (Photos on iPhone). The .insv and .insp files do not reside in the Photos area of my iPhone or iPad. What point am I missing here? I'm a little confused.
I have same question, as a new APP user... what I found is yes 360 photos with NO problem, BUT 360 movie clips ONLY reframed, actually not 360 file already...
Anyway, like this APP and going to PRO mode... TY. (Only one year since your post 😉😄🤭)
IMHO, at its current version, this app is waste of time! Sorry to differ.

@@BenClaremont sorry.. my comment too brief, sounds bad, my apology. I find this app not useful for group shot, and the output just not good. For scenery, or with the photographer or the subject in the Center/nadir, then it dose make the transformation/convolution very simple and easy. If it allow reposition of the photo before transformation, then it may be good. (Maybe it is already there and I haven found it). As it is, it is not suitable for group shot or photo where the camera position is not at the optimum place.
Ok sure, but that is not really the fault of the app. The app reframes 360 photos and videos, it cannot control how well the shots were taken.

Very timely video. I'm a Virtual Tour Pro student of yours (awesome course by the way) and wanted to have an intro sequence for a tour of a gym I just shot. This will be awesome! Now I just have to figure out how to integrate it with a Metareal tour. Maybe you can include that in the "Feedback Friday" section?

Thanks- no I don’t know of any but I would just use sphere mode if you’re using DJI drones as it stitches them automatically in the DJI app 👍
@@BenClaremont If one has a modern one it does ... sometimes OK.
I have the original Mavic Pro, and the one it creates in app is reality low resolution and heavily compressed, and generally poor.
The Mini 2 does very poor stitching, showing pinch marks and poor blending at the extreme ends.
