Stephen A doing a victory lap on Russell Wilson like it's not 2+ years of media coverage including him burying Russell Wilson is hilarious. My biggest regret is not archiving all the clips of ppl burying Russ because I already know some of those videos are being deleted from ESPN/Fox Sports/CBS catalogs. But I have several and he is definitely front and center even among those revising history about how great Russ was even in his prime.

Let’s not act like the receivers weren’t making some great looking catches, I watched the game and said, “wow” to a good amount of those catches receivers were making. Very good first outing for Wilson and company to have with him under center. Can he knock off the rust accumulated from injury and such, keep getting better, and sustain it throughout the season and into a playoff run? To me, he doesn’t have to make a long playoff run, he just has to look good enough to earn himself a job and contract.

A good coached team which the jets are not, would have put a safety over the top. All those passes would've either been broken up or intercepted

let's also not act like it was some amazing performance he was good a bit above avg these days on his stat line. 16-29 not good. 264 avg night. 2 pass tds and 1 rush td above average but td passes and runs can be decieving. You could start from the negative 1 run the ball for 98 yards then get a 1 yd td pass to an extra tackle on play action from a jumbo set tackle eligible play and vice versa with rush tds. it was one game and it wasn't some mind blowing performance and after dogging dude for 2 years making fun of him for working out on flights etc the flipping they do immediately after a decent game and try to take credit for being "right" is shameful

@@amlissa One game isn’t enough to say he’s bound for Canton again but if things went poorly ppl definitely would have used one game sample size to say he’s washed. Just like history will show ppl used one down year on Broncos with torn labrum and Hackett calling plays to bury him the last 2 years. Those of us who pointed out that he bounced back last year were gaslit and told those numbers were byproduct of Sean Payton. Well if he is productive on Steelers it proves that 2022 was clearly an outlier

    Career vs Steelers
    Burrow: 112/174, 64.4%, 1268yds, 11TD, 8Int, 88.0 rating
    Jackson: 78/132, 59.1%, 870yds, 4TD, 7Int, 66.8 rating

    • @DeCurtaRican
      @DeCurtaRican 49 นาทีที่ผ่านมา

@@alexm2889: : He wouldn’t have kept that job no matter what he did because Russ is just better than he is. JF needs development. He’s not a franchise QB yet, and without the proper steps he may never become one. We will have to see.
Everybody is in love with his potential, including me, but Russ has gears in his machinery that JF just doesn’t have right now.
It’s not just about the moon ball. It’s pretty much everything. Russ moved silky-smooth in the pocket the other night, which isn’t getting enough attention.
JF has three advantages over Russ, and none of them translate to better overall play or more wins: (1) Size, (2) Speed, and (3) Relatability (and Russ is better at that now).
Russ is still one of the top rushing QBs in the league. Before Jackson, Allen, and JF came into the league, he was always top 2 or top 3. Now, he’s top 6 or top 7, which are still borderline top5, right?
He finished #8 in QB rush yards last season behind #7 Mahomes. Russ won’t be rushing for 1,000 yards (65-70 YPG) like JF or LJ, but he’s still capable of rushing for 400-500 yards (30-35 YPG). Coupled with his arm and leadership, he is a much better package.
      *SIZE*
JF is bigger and taller, yet isn’t as durable and doesn’t see the field as well.
      *SPEED*
JF is faster but the passing game suffers for it, and he doesn’t know how to slide and protect his body. Plus, his YPC aren’t much more than Russ’s.
      *RELATABILITY*
Russ still talks too much during interviews and refuses to show any emotion, but he is showing that he got the memo that he needed to be more relatable to certain types of players (‘hood dudes and middle-class dudes). He can’t just vibe with the upper-crust players. He needs to let people in, and there are plenty of signs that he’s doing it.
Is Russ as relatable as JF? No. That’s probably never going to happen because of Russ’s religion and Zen philosophy, but his efforts to let more guys in have translated to those players showing more affection for him.
Whereas Russ was just “liked” in Seattle and Denver (only while winning, of course), it appears that his guys in Pittsburgh are protective of him. That’s what a QB needs. He needs his guys to want to protect him on and off the field.
JF will be alright if he plays the long game and takes advantage of this opportunity, i.e., if he doesn’t prioritize money this upcoming offseason. The best thing he can do is try to turn himself into a young Russ with size. If he even gets close to that, he will be the top dog in the NFL. Nobody will be able to touch him.
Potential is just potential. Here’s a quote:
“Show me a player with potential, and I’ll show you a player who isn’t getting the job done.”
      ~The late, great John Wooden

Idk if I’m confident my Steelers can cover those bengals receivers AND stop the run. I think the only way we beat Cincy both games is if Burrow is hurt for one of them. Every year I predict us to split the division and we usually do. We could theoretically sweep browns and ravens just because we have the blueprint on Lamar. But I’m worried about Henry and he’s gonna be the X factor this time around.

Russ is better than a lot of QBs. He had an overrated HC in Pete Carroll who got lucky for two years after Russ was gone from Seattle and really failed Russ in Russ’s last 6 years in Seattle.
During those 7 years, Russ was dragging the team to double-digit wins virtually by himself. Russ only had an intact LoB and a functioning Beast Mode for three seasons (2012-2015).
They were done in 2015. He had a completely unqualified HC in Nathaniel Hackett, and a coach who tried to tank at his expense in Sean Payton.

Mina, my thoughts are that if the Bengals can figure out a way to limit Saquon & win on Sunday & they can get & stay healthy then they are for real. But, my instincts tells me that Sunday will be hard to take for us Bengals fans because he (Saquon) may run all over the Bengals & the Eagles will send the Bengals season into another faze...the trade for draft capital faze & could Bill Belichick possibly be a candidate for the head coaching job there.

  • @AndrewSchnellLMFT

Mina you are wrong. When the Bengals offense was almost flawless they actually lost games (Washington, Ravens). Yet when the Offense struggled, the Defense and special teams won them games the last 2 weeks (Giants and Browns). The difference is the Defense line was not intact and healthy until the Giants game. They need all 5 guys working together to be a better defense. The Defense will be much better if the line continues to stay healthy.
They were previously without: Myles Murphy, McKinnley Jackson, BJ Hill, Shelden Rankings, and Sam Hubbard was playing thought a hamstring Issue. They had almost no rotation of guys, which meant the Line was fatigued and facing two on the top 5 offenses as well. Having all these guys back givens them a completely different Defense. You would think these pundits would do their homework a little more.

I could see each team getting a game, split the wins this season. Crazy the Steelers don't even have a divisional opponent until week 11.... and 6 of last 8 games are division matchups. The NFL must want the Steelers to have a losing season for once under Tomlin. It's the strangest thing I ever seen with pro sports scheduling. They gonna be lucky to have a healthy roster come playoff time, AFC North games always injury riddled, brut fest. I bet they split the wins with Ravens and Bengals, but idk that the Browns want to win this season so Steelers probably take two wins from Browns, so an overall 4-2 division record. I could see Bengals going 3-3 minimum in division. If Bengals make a run, start winning, make playoffs, it will be because Steelers fall off late season due to that crazy schedule just being brutal for them. Could we see 3 teams from AFC North in playoffs again? That would be wild af.

Tbh not really. Bengals put all their eggs into one basket and when an injury or two happens during season, y'all in trouble. They will heat up like every team does....it's called mid season form. We are a third of the way done with the season, and so far the Ravens and Steelers are the legit teams to Duke it out for that division title. Both teams are more complete teams, good at all three phases of the game right now. Both have good depth but Steelers have 2 SOLID QBs, 3 solid running backs, 7 tight ends. Russ is top qb at play action and OC Art Smith is a guru with that style offense. I'm thinking the Steelers got a backup qb who is very similar to Lamar Jackson (give him a couple years, he's only 25). They got a passer like Burrow for QB1. That defense is elite and will wreck games. Ravens are also loaded with talent and depth. Lamar still has less accuracy in the pass game then you want out of a NFL passer, but he is gonna win a lot of games for the Ravens. What we should be looking at are the big games, primetime games, how are they doing in those games? We know Burrow can perform under the intense pressure of NFL elite ballers and national media spotlight but how about the rest of the team? Defense is terrible. You can't win championships with no defense. Facts.
