    Well this is awesome info to know. I was thinking about going with a level kit and just going with a slightly taller tire. I actually like the look of my stock wheels on my Ranger.

      @@Mikeymike66 I drive my trucks for as long as humanly possible. I put a leveling kit, and some new tires on it, but I leave the tune alone. I don’t want to stress the engine more than I have to. Oil changes every 3-5k and I baby it. I’m 37 years old, I have no need to go fast in a mid sized truck

    • @Mikeymike66
      @Mikeymike66 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@lesterparker1594 I’ve not had any problems for any of my vehicles that are tuned and dyno tuned. I recommend a tune especially if you’re running bigger tires and a (lift) gives you more power and is better on gas mileage depending on driving habits. If reliability is your main goal then I recommend the ford performance tune.

    Hey man, super excited about your Ranger, thanks for the videos! I see you have the APG long travel now with the fenders so what ride height are you at with those? And do you still have your bds intrusion beams? I'm looking at running 35's with the apg long travel so fenders would definitely be upgraded, just wanted to know about the shock height and intrusion beams, thanks!

    Thank for making this video! Doing some research people seem to say that the 34" Patagonias (295/70/17) have a true diameter between ~33"-33.3" tall. I'm considering going to a 285/75/17 KO2, which is about 33.9" tall and 11.3" wide. I know you have a lot more clearance now with the pro-runner setup, but before going to that, do you think with your lift height, you had enough clearance for an extra 0.6" in height? I'm wondering if the slightly narrower profile of the KO2 (11.3" vs. 12" on the 34s and 12.5 on the 35s) would let me run it with no scrubbing...

    I’m looking to lift my ranger. I currently have a rough country 2.5” leveling kit for the front. Eventually I’m thinking of getting the Icon Stage 2 suspension kit. • @gwhalin
    @gwhalin 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Even a 33 with 0mm offset wheel seems to hit the plastic block on the rear at full lock. You have more lift than I do, but given a suspension lift doesn't change upper travel, seems you would be hitting that plastic for sure with those 34's when under compression and turning. Curious if you ended up having to remove that plastic and if not, how you got around that issue?

    • @banzaiib
      @banzaiib 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      i added 2.5 inch lift to the front, running 1.5" spacer on stock wheels (amounts to a 27mm offset), 285/70/17 KO2, fully removed crash bars front and rear, and i still scrape the plastic a tad at full lock on on steering wheel... this actually stops as the suspension is compressed up front, so it's been great for off-roading. This rubbing stops under compression because of the geometry of the bump behind the wheel-well plastic... it sticks out more where the center line of the wheel is when the truck is level, but as it's compressed, the wheel centerline moves beyond the bit sticking out and clears just fine.... BUT with anything bigger than the 32.7" tires i have, you'd DEFINITELY get lots of rubbing if you don't remove that plastic behind the front wheel wells... unless you run more offset... but at some point, your big tires are gonna rub on the UCA or knuckle.

    I would like to see some wheeling pics to see the room you have while articulating. Coming from the Jeep world to the Ranger world my heart wants 35's but I really think on this platform that 32 or 33s may be the sweet spot. I know you are switching over to King Coilover so maybe you can squeeze some more lift out of that set up. If there is one thing I hate is noise.... and any type of rubbing would drive me nuts. I still think you got the sweetest Ranger this side of Australia for sure....

    FYI...those intrusion beams as you called them are actually there for safety...they were put on so as to keep the front tire down during a front end collision. This was a safety feature that was on the F-150 to keep tire from going up into your legs and knees. Although 35's are sweet looking and all, in my opinion I would only fit tires big enough to fit between these crash bars. Could be something the insurance companies could use to deny claims as well. Like your videos but just wanted to put that bit of info out there for those deciding on what mods to do for there trucks. At the same time could save a little money as well
