So true! She, her musicianship is other worldly!!!!! I saw her perform LIVE in a cozy Jazz spot/ lounge in Culver City, Ca when her Time Control CD came out and LISTEN, it was so electrifying, captivating and mind blowing til I was like, God is in this room!!!!! I seriously needed a seatbelt!!!! I wasn’t ready! But what an experience!!!!! Her gift is a gift to us!!!!!
What an amazing show - wishing I was there but this is a good alternative! Thanks for posting… And I may be wrong but these are the cats: Hiromi - piano & keyboards Hadrien Feraud - bass Gene Coye - drums Adam O’Farrill - trumpet
Exactly, Hiromi comes for another planet , world of Japanese jazz musicians ! Actually the better comes from Japan ! I saw her 4 times with different groups around our planet ! Just unbelievable!!!
I had the very pleasure to see them playing at Vienne Jazz festival in France yesterday night. I'm not sure, there are suitable words to express how great they are. The rythmic musicians are awesome,, the trumpettist is brilliant. And Hiromi is an alien. A sweet one, the kind of one, I wish to meet for real once in my life. The way the perform together gives an idea of what paradise may sound like.
I saw her with Stanley Clarke in Vancouver over a decade ago and she was the show. During her solo in the 2nd composition she received a standing ovation 1 of 3 she got during the show. Incredibly gifted human being
I'd like to call her the great Picasso of music - a Zen pianist to express the magic of the universe such that each listener may go through a gateless gate into the universe of "Sonic wonderland"
I think it just depends if the sound mix is done well. These days I find the drums to be too loud compared to the featured pianist/singer/artist. The sound quality was perfect when Hiromi was playing solo.
Agreed - I thoroughly enjoyed this show too. The Music Center at Strathmore is beautiful, but seeing them the following night in a smaller venue (the Talley Student Union on the campus of N.C. State) was a treat.

She is ZZzzzzzz....
I saw Hiromi live in Chicago in 2016. Another planet is a great description

An honor, Mr Carter. THE Ron Carter. We have very few legends left.

This is another great show of Hiromi's Sonicwonder! Adam's showmanship is interesting. I wonder why he steps behind the stage when he's not playing.
Trumpet player here. To not distract from the other players, to have a break, to listen.
Maybe he wants to sit down instead of being on his feet.

Fantastic performance. Entirely the wrong venue though, surely - I think this music needs a much tighter sounding space.

It sounded fine in person; better than how the phone is picking it up here.
