nice topic u covered sid ; it was much needed people need to understand that hardwork and luck are important factors but not the only ones. we should go easy on ourselves and just focus on building skils

I have an opinion on this college tier problem. I work at a product-based company, and here, people care a lot about college and brand. At my current company, they've been hiring freshers for the past two years. But most of them aren’t that great-some are really, really awesome, though. This brings in gatekeeping (when a student is really good, seniors put them in a circle that exhausts them, instead of allowing them to improve in a valid, deliberate way), and then they say, "Our position is really difficult."
I’m a self-taught developer with 3 years of experience. I’ve been spending a lot of money, time, and effort. Now, people are telling me to enjoy this age because we won’t get it back. I guess if you’re brahmin, rich, privileged, or handsome, then everything will be fine. That’s the harsh truth. If you’re poor, this community will make things extremely tough for you and start fucking you with no heart. we are cursed... even if we work hard, we still have to wait for luck, timing, and adjust to people around us. Why?...

That should ignite the fight in you bro. The world was unfair to me as well, I never gave up though.
Trust me, if the world decides to be unfair with you, it will use anything it can to throw at you. Don't give up and keep fighting.

I’m from IIT, and I’d like to say a few words. Many people from my batch and alumni are very humble about the IIT tag, and they take it seriously to ensure they remain fair and never look down on anyone. After all, there’s nothing to look down upon. It’s just a single day of an exam that decides who gets in. A butterfly could have flown left, and the outcome of that day could have been entirely different. If you see anyone using their college tag to assert their point, just be glad, because that person has already given up on their own competence and now has to rely on their tag, knowing that without it, they are just mediocre.
I started my own company during my final year, Since we were building a B2B product, we had to ensure a certain quality that you are not taught in the college as the courses are mostly theoretical. Going through that experience made me realize that in real world, you have to learn everything on your own. And it's out there for everyone to learn and be as competent that they want.
It's truly a shame that Harikrat (who by the way I respect a lot for what he has done) has to instill insecurities by making comparison videos which are really inappropriate!

    Harkirat Bhai shows-off nicely.
He understood the middle class mindset and understood How to impose and Encash INSECURITY very well.
He is a Kind of a Guy ....NO ONE LIKES.
He shall not to be assumed as a role-model for guys.
I too was once very impressed by his initial videos and subscribed....but with Time I understood his Tactics and Unsubscribed.
The Person like him Targets the inferior Guys and He sells dream and Now Courses with that INSECURITY.
Harkirat is Not the person to be seen as an Aspirations.....its a message to all those who are in a trap of INSECURITY & Underconfidence.

The way I see it, it doesn’t matter what school or university you go to. The destination is all the same. That’s like saying you went to Harvard and graduated in SWE and you compare yourself to someone who is self-taught BUT they know MORE than that Harvard graduate.

The irony is IT is probably the one where college is just one of MANY routes to skills. As far as people using what college they went to for the sake of putting others down is concerned, if they feel the need to put someone else down to make themselves look good, it makes me question what their actual skills are or if all they have is the sheet of paper. To steal a line from Clone Wars, "in my book, experience outranks everything" is the real thing in IT.

Bro, it's not even about the college, it's the people-Tier 3 is full of folks (~90%+) who just wanna party, smoke, and don't care about their future. By final year, they're hoping for a 3.5LPA job. It's like "every penny thinks it's worth 26 paise." I'm just lucky I found a smart crew to vibe with, or I'd be screwed.

    • @SidTheITGuy

bruh, those types of people exist in all tiers. Not every IIT passout is a millionaire.
I just want this discrimination to be addressed, and eradicated.
Same thing happened with me too, I ended up in circles that shared my interest. But that's a whole other argument.

If your skills are great you can earn enough to lead a great life! The dreams sold by some says average 35 lpa 60lpa 1 crore 5 crore etc! Says they left job to continue passion! nobody mentions why that person left that high paying job! Trust me nobody knows real reason😂
About tiers! Concentration and interest is key! You don't need to be a math expert to code fronted apps basic math is more then enough!
They are sharing the webbdev course where any developer will have that much knowledge by experience of 2 years or so!
So they are same just with better marketing,🤔

just blindly go with the 1st one just because of the 1tb SSD over the 512. the ryzen 7 7840 hs performance is nearly the same as its intel counterpart, but the ryzen draws lower power , meaning its more efficient. it will give u a better battery life and , the temperatures of the laptop will be alot lower while performing cpu intensive tasks, all for the same power

I am from a private college. My college has really good environment to explore new things and the teachers really know their field. The money my father is paying for the entire course and other related materials is around 5 lakhs. It is not less but it's not that much either. The thing is in my 12th std I didn't study well due to some reasons. And as I was privileged I didn't need to take gap years to work hard and go to a college with my own credit. But now that I am in a private college my friends sometimes try me to remind that how easy the life is for me. And that really hurts me. I was born privileged and there's nothing I can do about it except be grateful. Yeah, I know privileged people have their game made easier at first but if they don't make the use of their resources properly then there's no use of being privileged. I hope everyone just be grateful for the resources they have and make the full use of it. And don't watch to the things that you know are not worth watching for your own well being.🤗
