Sounds good but I’d recommend cutting out that box style resonator and putting an “X” pipe in its place and Quad tipping it. You would be so happy with the results
Hello, dear friend, I did something different. I took the original muffler on the left that has the helical valve. I cut it, emptied it and put a direct tube inside and kept the other original muffler and soldered them again. I used the helical valve with a switch on the dashboard that opens and closes the moufler valve that has the direct tube, it worked very well, but after a while I realized that I was losing power mainly in torque, so I reconnected the helical valve with the original cables and I realized that it opened the valve from 2400rpm something like that automatically, I left it as original but with an empty muffler, and gained a lot of power, conclusion it is not worth removing the mufflers completely, because By losing exhaust pressure, controlled by the helical valve, you will lose torque and power.
I did mine but only different I just did muffler delete didn’t put no muffler like flow master how u did sounds better just straight just heads up 👍💯 love the 6 speed
@@jamesbmwgarage That’s awesome can’t wait. I finally fixed my driveshaft center support Last Monday just to hit a pot hole Wednesday Morning and bend rim. Got stocks on now and car is back to being shaky. I’m pissed
@@jamesbmwgarage that’s what ive been leaning towards too. I have codes for pressure build up. It doesn’t really look like the active sway bars are leaking so im thinking deff valve block needs cleaned
@@jamesbmwgarage Mine is the same it does however go in that state if push it really hard then it goes out if it again as soon as i let it cool down just for a minute or two and restart it. I'd love to figure out why it does that but the solutions have been different to everyone. It's truly confusing.
You COST yourself horsepower…. It is NO LONGER a “performance” exhaust since you REDUCED the size of the pipe at the inlet of the muffler… GOOD welds for a cheap welder though… Sounds ALMOST perfect though
Thanks James sounds great 👍 I will do my 545i that way
Sounds great! You are a professional! 🤘
You know it.
Good show chap.

Don’t threaten me with a good time! 🤣 I may do just that.
@@jamesbmwgarage Having the Quad tips is just to good of a look. It really should have been designed that way from the start.

Nice, where’d you get the tip ?
Had it laying around.

Thanks! I might change it up, delete the resonator and get a magnaflow muffler.
Hey James do you know if you can run the 4.6 crank and rods out of the x2 in the 4.4 motor? Or can the 4.6 swap into the 545 with ease?
I’d be willing to bet you could swap the 4,6 or 4.8 engine in pretty easily.
What’s been up man? Haven’t seen anything new in awhile.. how’s the car?
The car is great. Life has been super busy. I have some stuff filmed just have to finish editing. 👍

I have a question what modifications a good for this car to make more horsepower I see no one mod these cars.
Intake and exhaust mostly. Not a lot of mods out there for these for some reason.
Do you know anything about Dynamic drive malfunction?
Yes. The most common issue is the valve block. It’s mounted at the rear of the right front wheel arch.

I noticed you had lazy throttle response on the startup, does this go away for you once you drive just for a little bit?
Is fine after it warms up

I’ve actually changed it up since. I now have a magnaflow 3” inlet/outlet muffler with a much nicer tip. Sounds even better than this garbage muffler.
