I was at BCN today (5/5/24). Flight VY8754 from BCN - BHX and the gate said it was closed before boarding even started so I had to rush to gate D07. Apron views were fantastic and so was the flight.
Another super video and the views over the apron at BCN were fantastic. I've never flown on Vueling- even though they are such a big airline in Spain their route network to the UK is very small and I've never had a reason to fly with them. I was always taught that the Spanish letter "V" is pronounced as a "BW" sound so I would pronounce the name of the airline as "Bwelling".
Nice video work, Dom. Flew RAM back in 1990 to Tangier on a boeing 727-200. All red velour and stainless steel cutlery. Interesting smell wafting up from the smokers at the back😂.
Thanks Dom another great video. I flew EDI-BCN return in November 2022 with Bou-well-ing (with a slight 'v' between the Bou and the well!). They are fine but it was the only time I have ever flown where the staff were working to rule, or something similar, and although there was a full crew complement they were not selling food or duty free. So basically, they all stood about and chatted for two hours! I don't understand the duration for flights to/from BCN. The time to and from EDI was 2 hours and 10 minutes. Your flight to LGW was the same. Eh? I have also flown to LHR from BCN and that was one hour and 50 minutes. (Also GLA-GRO at 2 hours and 10 minutes). Why does it take so long to and from London? Thanks again!
Enjoyable video, many thanks. I tend to look on short-haul services of less than 3 hours as like a bus service from A to B. Recent experiences with in-flight catering have led me to either eat at the airport before boarding or take sandwiches. Flew BA Club Europe from LGW to Faro in late 2022 and found the food offering mediocre at best. It simply isn’t worth the additional cost, the only real advantage being the middle seat is not used.
just flown with them staff were lovely planes were clean and landing really smooth seat slightly uncomfortable but it was only a 2.5 hour flight I'd definitely use them again xx
Can someone clarify when carrying a drone on board as hand luggage, as per their website, it states the battery to be below 100Wh. Is this per battery so you can take on more than one as long as each is under the 100Wh limit, or is that the full limit? so only one battery can be on board? my batteries are 52Wh
I've flown with them several times, most recently last month from Dublin to Orly (which I had uploaded). It is indeed pronounced "v-well-ing" or "b-well-ing" as confirmed by the staff and cabin crew. I wish they'd offered that omelet on my Paris-bound flight, I would've ordered two!
I think it's a bit more than that. In my lessons you are supposed to start with a soft 'B' sound with the V being a sort of 'W' crossed with a 'V'! One of the more difficult parts of Spanish pronunciation. Like a Greek delta is not an English 'D' - dth! But Dom has a good go at it! Apparently I can't even spell pronunciation (I had pronounciation)!
@@andrewmcilwraith1997hi Andrew, I’m actually fluent in Spanish and English so I was just writing it out simply for Dom to say. The difference between V and B is region/country dependent when it comes to Spanish :)
@@andrewmcilwraith1997 I wouldn’t say you were getting it wrong at all, it’s just Native Spanish speakers’ tongues move and work in a way that ours never will haha. How much the V sounds like a B or W is just based on where they’re brought up really, but saying it as a V isn’t wrong either
I can’t stand those passengers that grab there bags before the plane comes to a stop. Like what is the point. Would love to see more African routes in general.
Viuling? So English that hurts 😂 It’s Spanish so we say VUELING (cause de name plays with VUELO which is flight in Spanish and the ING suffix that we don’t have in Spanish but we associate with English, so is kind of a mix probably to look more “international”)
Absolutely the slackest crew I have ever come across. This airline is quite simply a flying bus crewed by lazy Flight Attendants. Sitting in 1A and 1B from Gatwick to Rome we weren’t offered anything. The FA took an order from a man in 1C then pushed the cart away straight after. As soon as the service was over they just hid behind the curtain gossiping loudly in Spanish. A sloppy and slovenly airline I will never fly with again.

A very enjoyable watch as always Dom. Vueling is an airline I’ve wanted to try so thanks for this little insight.
Very enjoyable flight and the omelette looked lovely cheers
Never flown this airline, so good to see this video.

Looked like a good budget flight. I don’t know why people leap up the second the plane touches down. Where do they think they’re going?
Super Video from you
Cann you make a Video where you fly with Swiss? I woud love to see that
Looks a lovely coastal area, Dom. Thank you for another great vlog 😊
At least they use the newer terminal at Barcelona.
Hey mate, it’s “vwelling”

@@brandonwallis2788 Naughty, naughty! (Thanks)
Let's day that VUELING means flying in "Spanglish" : Volar (to fly) + ing (english infinitive suffix)
The airline is pronounced like Bwe - ling in Castilian Spanish
Love your vids, btw I think the airline is pronounced view-ling but I'm not sure
The onboard announcements call it v-well-ing
@@aviationtrainsfc1 thanks

I think the pronunciation you went with was correct but it sounds wrong :D
I pronounce it VWELING
Owned by same corporation that owns British Airways and Iberia!

Yes, you are pronouncing "Vueling" correctly.
