Just did this without removing anything. Compressed spring down enough to get to the bottom cap. The cap was really tight all I did was loosen a smidge no lock tight no plumbing tape no leaks so far lol. See how she holds. Thanks for the idea! Damn clever
great tip, thanks. when the shock extends it is called rebound not compression just to let you know, not a criticism. great series of videos on the Sport
Instead of loctite or thread tape try a kyosho 8x10mm .2 shim cut it like a lock washer would resemble and work it beyond the threads like a spiro lock and tighten the cap up it preloads the seals to the proper amount and looks professional
U are actually adding more air in the shock and then trap the air. Npt sure if its a good thing. But it seems like your shock got bouncier which kills the purpose of shock oil density.
Cool!!! You will notice the shocks have a softer fell. I upped the shock oil in the rear to 50 and the front to 30. Let me know what you think... :))))
It’s a little different removing the springs/flipping the shock upside down. This is solely to help remove stickion from the shaft. On my next run I’m going to try and flip the shocks and play with the springs :)))
Shock o-ring grease did it for me during 1st shock rebuild. Super smooth.
Wow great tip. Can't wait to try it out with the suspension working properly.

Ahhh cool. Thanks for picking up on that. ☺️
Thanks for watching 👍🏻😎😁☺️
You could also try plumbers tape on the thread to tighten it up. Don’t like using thread lock on plastic parts. Great vid though, thanks.
Ahhh very cool idea!

Great tip to get rid of that sticktion 😂😂😂
I’ve never heard the term Stickion before.
Awesome video man! I am trying this now. Stock did seem funny. But it is new to me.
Thanks for the video! I think I'm gonna have to do this all the way around on my truck
Awesome thanks...new trx4 owner

Thanks bro. Gonna do it tonight.

Another awesome tip form jrodz rc I’m glad it works for man keep it up brother
Bro everyone knows this it’s not like you came up with it
@@RealJawnes comment is form 2 years ago jst think bout that
hola@@jrodzrc4580
why don't you use the O-ring grease instead of using lock tight the shaft is dry and needs grease on it
The issue i found is that when the cap was tightened all the way it squeezed the o-rings together.
chapstick .... yes i said chapstick, for lips...will do wonders for stopping friction and loss of shock fluid. just coat the shock shaft and your done.
What size slw hubs you use on the trx4?
What the fuck is sticktion?
i was thinking about cutting my fenders out like this ....did it make your body less rigid ?
Not at all. Was still rigid.
But better on clearance and no tire rub..
Nice I am going to try that
Awesomeness! ☺️
Thanks for the tip!
Thanks for this video
Yeah when 1st got this truck I hated the way the shocks were y I told u what I did haha n it works

RcCrawler Vlogs yeah try bro if u don’t like it not hard to change it back man hope u like the way it performs
Thanks!! :))) I will keep you posted! :))
Change the shock oil to 15w much better than the 30wt traxxas puts in them
Thanks for the suggestion. ☺️ I like to run 80 in the rear for a slightly stiffer feel. Front I may try the 15 😁
Thank you!
Best tipp!
Thanks for the tip
Awesome!!! Let me know how you like it :)))
Nice but maybe the shocks loosing their oil much faster!
Mine don’t leak with this mod.
That's good to know I will do that when I get a trx4
It’s soooooo worth it!
It looks like it. How long have you had your trx4?
Had this one for about 6weeks or so.
How are you liking it?
Loving it. Super capable. 😁 what are your plans when you get one?
Wow
Don't use threadlocker on plastic
Good
thats not a mod its a repair but a good one
Hey bud, thread lock eats up plastic
Somebody get this kid and stickshionary😅
Have to watch, some thread locking compounds eat plastics!
Yea, I agree. I check yesterday. Seems like it’s holding so far- fingers crossed 😂
STICKTION ?.? 🤣🤣🤣🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙
Great tip. But good god. A thesaurus is a friend
It's not modified in any way its maintenance and thread lock costs money. Just my opinion
