I am gathering up quite a few book pages now after doing the altered books. So thought I would make some beautiful book paper feathers. They look so pretty hanging off the ring binder clips and I also made a Prayer Feather. I did not realise that a prayer feather is given as a gift to heal the heart. I have one that my mum was gifted when she was in America. I hang it on her photograph. I have been thinking a lot about her today and I was drawn to make a prayer feather not knowing why! Now I know ❤️

These are so real looking and so lovely. TFS and for the template. I love the idea of a prayer feather and plan to try and make 2 of those for a friend and her Mom whom recently lost a loved one. Ooo I forgot - maybe a bookmark or feather belly band [will this tickle your tummy? teehee] - Real feathers in a specimen card with a feather dangle, I can't wait for my hour of Joy [creating while watching you] this evening. Gi, you have used 20 guage wire (SWG), the higher the number the thinner the wire. 22guage would work OK (about the weight of fuse wire) In NZ we say No.10 wire [fence wire for sheep etc] idea, which is 'Kiwi ingenuity'. I think they go well on a card, even for a man or child, depending the embalishment.
I have used heavy string instead of wire and it works fine too.
Yes use as prayer feather, and write a Bible verse on them. I will tuck in my Bible.

No 10 wire is used for fencing sheep, cows etc on our farms.

What is the large container of white substance you painted on the leaf?
Can people use a big feather to draw around as a basic form?
Om obsessed with feathers lately..the birds around here are dropping feathers left and right..i use scrylic paint pens and put dots and lines on them...most.are black...the. copy them and fussy cut..i tried alcholo inks..didnt work..i need to probably 91 percent alcohol to reduce their water resistance and try again.
