A reliable Taurus? You'd have to go back a few years for those 😂 Anyway, the previous TUC was one of the most unreliable things in existence. But who knows, maybe they got this one right 🤷♂️
I like the little berettas. So, this is somewhat interesting. They should make them in 25ACP. That would probably eliminate many problems that people have with small auto loaders and is the reason why John Moses Browning invented the 25 ACP in the first place. There is finally some BB ammo out that makes the 25 viable.
Had one less than a week, about 150 rnds Aguila hv and CCI SV so far …had about 4 stove pipes…slide is difficult to pull back imo…but using the tip barrel to load is easy…decent accuracy for its purpose…biggest con for me is the heavy long trigger pull and trigger ‘bite’ if firing more than a couple mags…using a glove helps a lot…mag holds 9 rounds, so 9+1…I carry a .22 lcp in my pocket around the farm daily but this TUC should be fine also…
@@calvinjones1365 shot another 150 rnds this am…Aguila hv, and CCI Uppercut…the uppercut wasn’t good for this pistol, many failures, I thing the light bullet doesn’t give the slide enough impetus to function properly…recoil was noticeably less… the Aguila shot pretty good as before…couple of stovepipes…purchased several cases of the Aguila several years ago for less than 4cents per round💥…will run some Blazer in it a little later…
And the Blazer shot as well as the Aguila hv…shot about 150 rnds…2 stove pipes, 2 failures to fire, but fired on second strike…not quite as reliable as lcp , at least at this point, but I would buy again…
I think if you can unload 10 rounds into a target every time you win. Sure you can pack a 38-357 but if you are weak, most of your shots will be flyers.
I bought one of these about a year ago. The hinge on the barrel was not alligned and it moved sideways and then clicked shut. It always shut properly but it bugged me. It showed poor craftsmanship. I sold it and bought a Beretta.
@@Shadow__133 Emphasis on "at all." One of the people in this comment section who owns this pistol said he "had 4 stovepipes in 200rds." LOL....hard pass on that. 13 shot Ruger LCP Max with .380+P XTP hollowpoints and factory nightsights weighing in at 15oz loaded for me, thanks.
@@Valorius Lol, he is lucky it didn't come flying in pieces like the old TUC used to (there are videos here). I also have carried a LCP max for the past 2 years, now switching to the BG2. Just spent the day at the range shooting both side by side and the difference is astounding. However I did have all the small issues everyone is talking about the BG2: sight needs adjustment, springs too stiff from factory, magazine follower gets stuck loading, and feed ramp could use polishing. All simple to solve in one afternoon.
Except for extreme arthritis or old age I cannot even remotely contemplate why someone would choose this in a world that has both the Ruger LCP Max and the S&W Bodyguard 2.
I envision this kind of design and older mouse gun designs for someone to carry in non permissive environments. Something to be as discreet as possible. The ones you mentioned are small but I would still have some concern carrying those during summer months when my clothes are more likely to print.
People are criticizing the gun it's something different if u can only afford 1gun this may not be for you on the other hand if u can afford to collect mouse guns this ideal for someone's collection also many of us under estimate the 22lr it will stop a threat killing isn't always winning but backing somebody ass up to give u enough time to evaluate the situation that's a win in itself is it the best option no but is it an option yes take care
@@calvinjones1365 I absolutely grant you that collecting guns just for the sake of collecting guns is perfectly fine in my world too. I just tend to look at guns as tools. Whatever killing power 22 has it definitely pales in comparison to a modern 380 hollow point.
@@calvinjones1365 A bersa thunder in 380 can easily be had for $75 less than the TUC-22, and it's in a massively more powerful cartridge. A Hi Point C9 can be had around $140 brand new as well. Or even a Rock Island M206 are pretty often right at $200, for a 6rd .38spl.
The sweet grip on my TX22-c would suffer with a shorter grip. My state (WA) limits mags to 10 rounds, so here there is no advantage in shortening the mag! We incorrectly said the magazine capacity was 7+1. We are aware it is 9+1.
Think they could of did 10 plus 1.
I'm 74, with weak hand strength. I LIKE IT. Minimal weight.
As long as it works it's better than a sharp stick. But just.

@@RonBortmas I'd be concerned with your ability to manipulate the double action only trigger pull.
The slide is difficult to operate…but the tip up barrel minimizes the need…
@@tnmantn8938 to me that is completely canceled out by the fact that it's a double action only pistol
Taurus website indicates that the magazine capacity is nine rounds, not seven....
Yes
If proven to be reliable then nice pocket gun. Time will tell. Thanks!

Good honest evaluation

Looks fun as hell! 😎
Reminds me a bit of the old KelGren P10

I used to have an older model of this. PT22 PLY it worked great. It had a fat butt so I didn't carry it.
dont forget no extractor so if the dud round gets stuck, oh well, just tell the bad guy to hang on a minute.
That's neat, Taurus. But since it says "Made in the USA" it shouldn't be beholden to import guidelines, give it to me in .25 ACP or .32 ACP.
.25acp is a worse cartridge in 2024, and 32acp would simply just not sell

Designed for internal carry, hence the 'TUC' nomencalture. The trigger guard is well designed so as not hang up in your rectum.
Crikey!😱

At least it's a Taurus and not a sig, so the risk of it going off on accident (or at all) is negligible 😂

Taurus dropped the ball, imo. They should've just simply shortened a tx-22 mag to 10 rounds. Then been able to run the 16 rounder in it!
That would be cool, especially if they figured a way to keep optics ready for a micro dot.

Magazine disconnect “safety”? (Can you fire it with magazine removed?)
No
@@bower31 Thanks for response but do you mean no, there’s no magazine disconnect safety or no, you can’t fire it with magazine removed?
@knife_knut OK I was mistaken I thought it did have one, but nowhere does any mention it having a magazine safety
Taurus never made the tip up PT in 32 or 380 and that magazine holds 9 rounds. You should really be better prepared.
