Yes claim for 10k. Half an hour left sitting in a comfortable chair is ridiculous especially when you have paid around £500 for the flight. Thank goodness it wasn’t an hour because on this guys reckoning the airline would have gone bust.
Imagine having to wait 30 minutes in an airport! That can’t have ever happened to anyone before. Every time I go I’m on the plane within 5 minutes and they sometimes even let me fly it.
The caller is correct, they did same to asain guy who had arrived on TUI flight into Manchester airport, left him and his daughter on the plane for 2 hours. Flight crew just went away leaving them in the plane all alone. The caller needs to go to local or national papers or TV news channel. That's what i would do.
The half hour's inconvenience?! How about the distress, risk and concern?! And what the hell? Montreal convention means no money payable at all. If it was, then Purves vs Joydisc would make it a minimum of £1,600. Truly you don't get the concept of damages for injury to feelings, the fact that failure to provide an auxiliary aid or service is about much more than the half hour, nor do you know aviation accessibility law. The way you spoke to and about this man was disgraceful.
Anyone can ask for a wheelchair pusher, it’s very common. He is right, in his own words it won’t be a “first class… first world country” if we pay £2k for someone not being pushed in a wheelchair. Fair play to Daniel on the charity point. Not sure how he can value the “loss” here via small claims?
To all the commenters, he is right. Assistance services are horrendus and something needs to be done. Assistance left us at the gate as flight arrived at 10.30. The staff had all gone home. We had to beg a cleaner to push us out. It wasnt his job but he was an angel bless him On another occasion, we were dumped on a waiting area and forgotten about. Almost missed the flight and by sheer luch an air hostess was calling our name. Another occasion waited for THREE HOURS after landing . No assitance. Had to walk instead which is extremely difficult when you consider how large airports are. Stop criticising the guy. He has a valid point. Also i recall a passemger died at gatwick due to lack of assitance. Do comsoder peoples circumstances before going for them amd questioning their intentions
Disagree, outrageous behavior by airline, compensation will be a lot more and what's this nonsense about donating to charity, wouldn't employ you Daniel

This guy is out of his mind with entitlement.
People feel so very entitled these days

£2000 quid for 30 minutes work? - ridiculous! Who does he think he is? A K.C?!?
Idots...
Go to the papers
Name and shame
Much easier than issuing a court claim

The entitlement honestly

Appalling. No one has ever suffered so much.
You would not get a penny
Ridiculous claim but I can understand how his wife must’ve felt been left sitting there with a child to look after… There is some dignity to consider
Crazy people,
I’m not sure why a diabetic either coeliac disease needs a wheelchair
Obesity bud, caller clearly left that out 😂
They could be an amputee as many diabetics do lose limbs as result of the condition.

It would be up to the caller, if they wanted to give to charity. Don't put the caller on the spot: it's the legal hour, not the moral hour!
£2000 is too low claim for £5000
