hey, great video! I think you shouldn't use ISO 400 when you have studio lights, lower to 100 and lower shutter speed. You can do that because you have a tripod, and studio lights. Also, you shouldnt shoot wide open, because of sharpness, and depth of field, of course if you're going for a blurry bcgrd than this doesn't apply.
Wide open gives great depth of field, which imo, is essential for product photography, sharpness should not be an issue in centre of the frame, and especially on a prime lens.
Oliur, really big thanks for sharing this. I have been making Apple Setup photography (with cases and watch straps and all). I used thin paper which not really worked that well. With me the hardest part is the editing I have to learn a lot with that..
Awesome stuff! Would you recommend Affinity Photo software for editing photos? I really like the flat rate one fee price instead of adobe's subscription.
@@Oliur Hey thanks for the great contents, would it be possible to point me in the right different in regards to the black card please. tried Hobbycraft without luck thanks
Hi Oliur, I know i'm too late to make this question, but, Could you please give us a link to purchase the A1 CardBoard?? I'm looking here in Spain for all shops and I am not able to find anything similar. Regards, and love your content!
Hello. Please help me with a link where I can buy that cardboard, in Romania I did not find to buy such a thing anywhere. Please tell me where I can find something like this. Thanks!
Great video and explanation.. i'm trying to find the same black card you used in the video ( you mentioned they were a couple of quid, i live in London) appreciate if you can share where you bought them from.. Thanks
Not really. Food photography is a different ball game. That’s what makes photography great, different photographers are better at shooting different subjects.
Hi, would you mind explaining how your process for getting your images onto your ipad please? would be nice not to have to work on the desktop all the time
maaaaan i need a sponsore for your presets...lol exchange rate is a bit for me...God please send an angel my way, love and respect your work and personality man.
Why do small objects such as watches, only look sharp when you go above f20, where you can even get ears and hair sharp with portraits when you focus on the face? Small objects you focus on the watch, and the strap is out of focus even at f15. But with a model, you focus on the eye at f9 and even eats and hairs are sharper than the strap of the watch does. What's the explanation for this?
That depends on your focal length and how close you are to the subject. Say you're shooting a portrait at 85mm, f8, from 8 feet away. Your depth of field (how much is in focus) is about six and a half inches. Now say you're shooting a small object. You're probably going to be shooting it from much much closer. With a watch, likely only 1-2 feet away. So, shooting at 85mm at f8 from we'll say 1.5 feet away, your depth of field will only be 3/16 of an inch. You can increase your depth of field in a few ways. Decrease your aperture (number gets larger), shoot with a wider lens, or increase the camera's distance from the subject. The closer you are to a subject, the smaller your depth of field will be.
Hi Oliur, some really great tips thanks for sharing, I am planning to dedicate a future episode of the Photography live show to product photography. Could we showcase some elements of your video as part of that live show? (credited of course)
You use iso 400 while it is not a moving subject and you use a tripod? That is not the most logic decision.. You can easy just use iso 100 with a longer exposure..
I love your calm and composed attitude. I learn a lot from you about photography.

Video length 11:11, is it deliberately done? It so detailed, thank you.

Hi where did you get your A1 cards from? (I'm also in the UK) I ordered some online but the surface is a little glossy. Thanks for the video 🙌
Not sure where you are located, Here in the U.S Those can be found at the $1.25 store
Always use the shutter timer even with a tripod to eliminate camera shake completely
This has helped me so much , thank you

App for edit photos iOS you prefer ?
Lightroom
Yep Lightroom as shown in this video 😂
Do you remove other colours from your image? Eg Reds Greens etc to get this monochrome black blue effect.
Amazing. Do you do light and lively as well? Kind of like how it goes for food?
Not really. Food photography is a different ball game. That’s what makes photography great, different photographers are better at shooting different subjects.
@@Oliur thanks man. Definitely bookmarking this vid
