0:50 Definitely agree with this. I'm a big fan of well-structured and fluid animation and that's part of the reason why a lot of the deckbuilders tend to filter me. Looking further in the video, the animations are definitely well done but man are the monster models beautiful. The shading and lighting are so nice on the mons that the player character model sometimes feel off lol. The whole backpack management thing is definitely selling me on this, makes it feel more interesting.
You're right, the animation is really fluid, a lot of games just tend to have moving parts like paper puppets with pinned limbs, maybe with part of the model morphing or growing but this has individually animated frames.
O M G! I absolutely love this art. This is gorgeous! I'm usually not a fan of games that use a program to manipulate a still image to create animations, but you can always tell when an expert gets their hands on it. It actually looks fantastic here. I'm not sure what the process is called and struggle locating the term. The idea of inventory management usually turns pp+ into pp-, but this looks so interesting that I might just have to give it a shot.
The fact that the game manages to stack Deckbuilder and Backpack Management into the same game sounds like satire. The game actually looking good is a pleasant subversion of expectations!
The card names look very Welsh so maybe old Welsh/Celtic/Anglo Saxon influence? Also, I fell asleep during the stream, but Happy Belated Birthday! 🎉 Been catching up on the Nioh streams, and that Kappa level was the most hilarious BS I've seen in a hot minute ❤ 😂
Haven't done that for a hot minute. The purpose was to put the patrons towards the start of the video. My asset with everyones names needs to be remade as it was removed somehow from my software so it hasn't been there for a few vids.
... Why did they make the Gae Bolg a halberd? Also, fun fact about your combo, some translators think Laevateinn /is/ Surtr's, so it's neat that they work like two parts of a whole. Mythological musings aside, this does seem like an interesting take on deck building and I'll be curious to see where it goes, but in its current state the translation is a bit too problematic. For example, the Raging Anger card reads as if it should do the opposite of what it actually does and I have no idea what the 50% clause on the aegis is trying to do.
very nice game, but it kinda annoyed me how u didnt use the rotate feature to place the items well (or rather not always), especially with the gae bolg..... ur inventory always had this little pice sticking out on the right, witch would fit a rotated bolg perfectly but otherwise great video and great game :3
Downloaded the demo and while fun some of the RNG just feels bad. For example if you don't get a shop and have Gungir as the boss you are most likely losing.

I started watching you when I was maxing Skull. Now I love you for for showing so many games that hit my vibes

That creature deserves everything it gets
Many, if not all, of them are references to actual myths, including myths from all three of those cultures.
4 minutes in, first encounter, oh boy this art-style and animation looks amazing
Looks cool!
just downloaded the demo, am gonna play it soon. it sounds fun
This looks really good.
I’m liking the look of this! Getting some YuGiYo/MTG vibes with some of the card mechanics.
Beelz I literally can't stop playing this demo curse you 😭
Hey Carnwennan is Welsh, neat to see more Welsh representation in things
I suspected it of being welsh when I tried to read what could only be described as a cryptic word puzzle given sentient life.
lmao that’s very accurate, it’s pronounced as it’s read though Carn-wenn-an. Luckily they didn’t bring in the Ll and Dd
Soooooooo I've been wondering for a few vids now.... Why no demon Beelz outro with the
"Have a goooooood one" ???

@@Beelz55 Thanks, I was just wondering why it hadn't been in for a few but I figured maybe there was a technical issue.

It looks like the swords drop out if you sharpen them.
