‘Outrageous’ is probably the best way to describe Alex Szman’s over-the-top styled 1960 Chrysler 300F. With a smorgasbord of chrome goodies lining the dash, long prominent tail fins and a smattering of chrome and gold badges, it’s easy to see how the visual splendour and flamboyant design of this terracotta and chrome beauty lured the former advertising creative turned artist.

The Chrysler 300 are beautiful cars, especially the era when they started building them. Beautiful car!

An excellent review of an overlooked classic by a guy who could not be more qualified.
The 1960 Chrysler 300 F was the high water mark of Virgil Exner’s Forward Look design style, while GM’s Bill Mitchell’s 1959 Cadillac Eldorado was excessively sized and decorated, bordering on garish. His ‘60 version was improved but still could not match Exner’s Chrysler.
Exner’s chief competitor was himself. His ‘62 Imperial was another styling triumph, post-Forward Look. It had no fins, and its radical exposed lights front and rear added drama to the simple but perfect lines, resulting in a non-flashy luxury car. It was Exner’s swan song.

Lovely cohesive design where each part compliments the other. It makes any Lexus look like a tractor.

Why do u reverse into your garage? Just go in forwards. You must be one of those annoying people that holds traffic up while your trying to reverse into a shopping car park spot.

Back-in parking, which is the norm in Europe, is safer because the area you are backing into is free from traffic or pedestrians. Driving forward into a parking space is easy. But it’s a different story when backing out blind into traffic, especially in the huge cars of this era.
The kind of driver who honks at others because they cost him ten seconds as they park more safely is in no position to lecture anybody about any aspect of parking . . . or civilized behavior.
