    Using a travel pillow worked for me... I lay it flat and put my ear right in the hole and use the rest of the pillow to support my head and neck. I'm recovering with a conch, a rook and an ear project all on my right ear and this has significantly helped with the healing. Love this piercing :)

    I got my ear pierced today! (An industrial) And honestly it didn’t hurt as bad as I thought it would. The second pierce through the ear hurt a little more, and it felt a little uncomfortable and would sting, but that’s about all. I thought my pain tolerance was low, although I’ve had four other piercings before, the pain of this piercing was about a 3 out of 10. It wasn’t bad at all. Not even a tear to my eye! I bought H2O Ocean purified ocean salt water with lysozyme, sterile, to spray on my ears 3-6 times a day to help with the healing process! I definitely don’t regret this decision.

    This video saved me!! I got my Industrial August 15. Today it is 1 week old. Before this, I was using sink water and iodized sea salt (I didn’t know there was a difference!) and my ear had been HURTING since Saturday. I did a soak just today (Wednesday) with the distilled water and non-iodized sea salt and my pain immediately dissipated! Love you, dude!!

    its about 2 month I've got my piercing. it has NO PAIN. i watched a lot of videos and wow they scared me so much. i had 4 ear piercings and 2 of them hurt soo much and i was really afraid to get industrial.
    1. sleep on travel pillows for first 2 weeks now i can sleep on it and i have no problem
    2.apply ointment twice a day and if u feel ur skin is dry apply it more. i used Gentamicin ointment.
    3.wash ur piercing holes with warm water and salt twice a day until 2 weeks. or as long as u think it needs.
    4.its better not to move it but when u wash it with salt and water u can do it.
    5.use antibiotic for 3 days.
    and DONE 💙

    I watched this video the day I got my done, I'm on week 8 now, and im so happy I did. It prepared me for the healing process and it helped me to be sure that my piercing was done correctly. My biggest fear was the angle of the piercing. My process has been full of a lot of ups and downs, but I finally felt comfortable enough to get another piercing in the same ear, and beside it being sore for a few days after it is 100% okay :)

    Matt is so right about not using rubbing alcohol and ONLY using a saline solution. I got lazy when I first got my piercing and stopped using the saline solution I made and started using alcohol. It immediately began to keloid. So I went back to the saline solution and the keloid went away almost immediately.

    • @Christina-oi9yc
      @Christina-oi9yc 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      thats weird coz when i was on holiday abroad i forgot to clean mine so after a while i had a huge keloid that i litterly could MOVE with a black dot on it. I was so in shock i immediatly bought 60% alcohol in this weird shop from people who did not understand my language but after i used the alcohol it got so much smaller. before my holiday i already had the keloid but it was really small and its back to the same size rn. so im still alive doing well.

    • @fummioh2139
      @fummioh2139 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Really? My keloid came back. I only have one at the top of the bar now. I may try the alcohol because I really don't want this thing to get bigger

    • @Christina-oi9yc
      @Christina-oi9yc 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Fummi Oh no i understand hahah. You should try tea tree oil. It made my keloid shrink so much its gone rn. I still have two but its okay my piercing is healed so yea. But trust me Tea Tree oil is magical. Not only for ur piercing but also for ur skin.

    • @portercmt
      @portercmt 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can use alcohol once you've had the piercing for a few years and it's healed to the point where you can sleep on it, smack it, bend your ear, etc without any soreness or pain. But that's years later. Even my labret which is a year old, I use alcohol swabs to clean it. But as I said, you can only use alcohol for cleaning when you've had it for a long long time. If it's fresh, don't use it. But if it's old, you can use it. Just never peroxide.

    No matter what with your industrial bar piercing, never sleep on IT...as the bubbles on your ear will start if you do.
    But you can help shrink with sea salt soak... just avoid sleeping on IT.

  • @RainbowTimeTv
    @RainbowTimeTv 6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    I love watching these, even one month after my industrial piercing experience. due to scoliosis, i am more comfortable sleeping on the left side, so I got my right ear pierced. if you have a preferred sleep position, i recommend getting a piercing on the opposite ear (first). I used antibacterial soap and sea salt soaks the first two weeks NEVER sleeping on the side with the piercing. Then I switched to just H2Ocean saline spray. no keloids so far. swelling and pain decreased tremendously. I have a bad habit of scratching my crusties off sometimes because the spray dries it out and makes it itch. For all of you asking, YES IT HURTS. The bar looks so beautiful though. If you don't trust yourself to take care of the piercing with the correct supplies, would not recommend. CARE FOR YOUR SEMI SELF-INFLICTED WOUNDS YOU GUYS!

      An industrial can't be healed for 2 months. It may be possible in ideal circumstances but it all depends on what kind of a healer you are. Mine for example took 7 months to completely heal. And you should take in consideration all the things that could go wrong like getting keloids or minimal bleeding. That's why it takes longer.

    I've had my industrial now for 17 years. It hurt alot, but I feel pain excruciatingly. All my piercings hurt a lot. Anyway, since I've had it so long, I can keep the bar out for 24 hours without it closing. I don't think it can close anymore. It actually took mine 2 years to be 100% healed. After 2 months, it's slightly healed. Trust me, industrials take YEARS to 100% heal, not a few weeks or months. I'm talking where you can change it easily, yank on it, smack it, etc. It's years.

      I won't lie, my industrial took a while to heal. It was only sensitive and tender for about the first 3 months, but I still got crusties and stuff up until 8 months :< It healed properly after about 8 months, but I still would get bruising on my ear if I slept on it for two long.
      I would say it took a good 11 months to completely heal to where it is now; I can move it, sleep on it, change the jewellery etc with absolutely no problem!

    Got to this on recommended videos. My horizonal industrial took nearly 2 years to fully heal it was just so stubborn! I've just had a vertical one done about 3 months ago, going from rim to conch, and it's interesting what you said about the long bar connecting both piercings. My horizontal one I had the long bar in straight away and the vertical one had separate straight barbells in for 8 weeks because my piercer needed to order a longer bar in for me and I'd say having them separate has helped it heal a bit quicker and I'm not having anywhere near as many problems as my horizontal one. I have trouble finding jewellery for both of them as I'm odd sizes I seem to have long but small ears lol. They both 14g thickness but my horizontal is 30mm and my vertical 50mm.

    The piercers who did mine recommended dial antibacterial liquid soap to clean it with 3 times a day and turn it every so often while cleaning and also move it up and down I’ve only had it for a couple weeks now and it’s in the itchy scab healing phase but other than that I think it’s been healing pretty good

    Got mine June 9th 2021 and it was going really good till after camp, formed two bumps on it (top one had one on the outside, bottom ball had one on the inside of my ear) and I went to a second piercer to get a second opinion on my anatomy and he said it was fine it looked “questionable” but said he doesn’t see a problem with it (piercing place has been open for 17+ years and has good comments and good reputation) and he ended up taking the barbell out and replacing it with two little barbells. Praying it heals and the bumps go away I love this piercing and don’t want to get rid of it… 😟

      Abby White for some people it takes longer to heal. When you first got it pierced was the bar long, or did the balls on the outside touch your ear? And how much did it cost? Maybe your piercer used crappy medal and you where having a bad reaction to it.

    • @abbywhite6842

      Sanysa Amatali it's doing fine actually. getting the piercing hurt. maybe a 3/10. it was aching for a day, after that i didn't feel it. well, unless i accidentally hit or snagged it. cleaning it isn't that bad, obviously hurts a bit the first week but it's manageable. i haven't tried sleeping on the side with my industrial yet though, just feel like waiting a bit more, since it might delay the healing process by something constantly touching or moving it. i have a feeling it's gonna heal up pretty nicely, at least i hope so. =)

      Iamnosainte you could get a floating industrial or a bent industrial. A floating industrial is on the middle cartilage between your helix was ( where the bar would lay on a regular industrial.) and a bent Industrial is a forward helix piercing(the top one) but the bottom piercing of the industrial is through the back of your ear rather than through the helix. You should google pictures to see if it would work for you. You might have to special order a bar or drive a while because not all piercing places do "weird" industrial bars.

    I’m freaking out I just got my industrial pierced and there is no room for the swelling. I think it’s too short. Advice please?

    I have two industrial piercings one on each ear two different guys did it first guy did an awesome on my left ear healed so well and it was a 16g gave it space to heal (long bar) on my right ear a different guy did it also 16g (short bar) but my bar literally touches the skin and it’s hard to clean pissed me off but now it’s currently healing pretty good the two guys said it takes a year to heal

    With my piercings including my industrial piercing, I just use some antibacterial dial soap to clean them. I clean them with a Q tip and everything is perfectly fine. I struggled with keyloids with my industrial for most of my healing process which has been for like 10 months. (Next month I will be fully healed) But yeah I was given a piercing serum that did absolutely nothing for me! It did not help the keyloids at all. But ever since I started using the dial soap they have completely gone.
