I've heard him say he never knew he could sing which is crazy.
Mint Condition was one of the last groups that sings live and can play the instruments LIVE. They put on a music workshop at Jackson State University years ago…music majors loved it.
@alpho j - my daughter went to Hampton U and they loved to play this song during the 5th quarter. 😁 I have many friends who attended J-State as I'm originally from Utica, MS almost smack dab between J-State and Alcorn! I opted to go elsewhere! 😂

Forever in Your Eyes, If You Love Me. More Mint Condition. They got hits. This song still bangs! Stokley, the lead singer that was playing the drums started with the band as a drummer and then filled in for the singer that quit.
I saw them in concert, he would play the drums and other instruments. It was amazing.

What Kind of Man Would I Be is one of my absolute favorites of all time.
From Minnesota. Stokley said they were students of Prince, hence the great instrumentality. They were a great group in their own right and Stokely is a great song writer.

STOKELY'S VOICE IS AN INSTRUMENT! I'm still in love with Mint Condition, their music is just good vibes. They were the last real BAND, real musicians, real composers I can think of. You must listen to Forever in your Eyes, U send me swingin, Nothing left Say,, What kind of man, a duet Stokely did with Kelly Price called Not My Daddy....just get into all of it! Also, the lead singer finally did his 1st solo project "Introducing Stokely" a few years back. Listen to Level, Way Up, Organic and you won't stop singing it. As a group Mint Condition are amazing and I hope they decide to tour again someday. However, you can still catch Stokely showing out and never disappointing! Jazz in the Gardens soon in Miami.
