    My dream guitar! Such a magical mahogany sound which Larrivee is so famous for!

    I had 4 Larrivees ,sold 3 higher spec models and kept my om40. By far the best sounding and best value of the 4 i think.

    You're spot on on the comment about Larivees takes time to open up. They are tight and takes time to age. But yep very balanced tone. When you spend a lot of time with instruments like this I feel it reveals what something cheaper/great sounding guitars sometimes lacks - balance.

    Excellent review. I love Larrivee...I have a L-40r and I've had a 000-40r and a 00-40. I just bought an om-40r this morning. One correction...check those end pins one more time. All of mine came from Larriveee with bone pins. I went with the rosewood version of the om-40 because I have a Yamaha FS5 and wanted a rosewood counterpart for that guitar. I love the etching that Larrivee has on their open tuners, designed by Mrs. Larrivee.

    Nice demo, my friend! Just ordered one of these to go with my OM-02. Similar guitars but can't get enough of them. Larrivee is the best.

    Hello Jarvis!
    Please explain your palm mute technique.
    Thanks for this great video!

    • @TheGuitarSpaSingapore
      @TheGuitarSpaSingapore  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s another topic .. when you strum you use the palm to mute if like down down down down on each beat or a 2’and 4 in one bar of 4 Beats - hope you get it

    Beautiful. There aren’t too many Larrivee demos on TH-cam, when compared to Martin. But your playing accentuates the guitar’s finer points. I own a 00-03 Mahogany, can appreciate what u r doin

      Shanker R I do love the larrivees .. people just need to give them time to open up .. they start really compressed tight right from the starts but ones the top loosen up over time .. it blossoms .. being open ..

    Jarvis, I've had 2 rosewood Martin OM's, but I'm looking for an rosewood OM with a little more "oomph" in the low end. The Larrivee is 1/4' wider and 1/4" deeper than its Martin counterpart. How would you describe the low end of a Larrivee 40 series guitar compared to Martin OM-28 or 000-18? I know the Yamaha FS5 has far superior bass compared to both the om-28 and 000-18. Oh, you should do a shootout video with the Larrivee om-40 and the Yamaha FS5. That would be very interesting!

    Jarvis, I had that edge issue with 2 of my Larrivee's (000-40r & 00-40), but the L-40r does not have this issue. I hope it's something I can learn to overcome on my om-40r. Do you have any tips for this?

    It’s too bad that the anthem robs the guitar of a bit of tone once it’s installed.
