- How to Create A Windows 11 Bootable USB Flash Drive. So you want to install Windows 11 and need to know how to create a bootable USB drive with Windows 11 Insider Preview. Right now, Microsoft have not released the official Windows 11 to the general public, you have to be in the insider program to get a copy of Windows 11 iso. I will show you a step by step guide.

Why do u have to use all those apps and stuff? Can't you just put the ISO file onto a USB thumb drive and set the BIOS to start from the drive?

I have an 16 years laptop lol and I wanted to install Windows 11. But it didnt worked because the usb wasnt bootable. I am realizing that now. It is designed for WinXP so hope it works. Btw the laptop was created from the dead company: Fujitsu Siemens. I got mad and deleted System32 XD.
If MS is not going to give you security updates can you just do an update with the latest ISO file to keep you up to date??
Might be possible to do manual updates.

Hey Britec09, I created a bootable flash drive because I am trying to custom install Windows 11 on my other computer but when I click on the Custom install and hit next, under Windows setup there are no partions and or drives to select to continue with. What can cause this? I have went into BIOS settings and made sure things were right and I can't find anywhere online to install the correct drive to my flash drive. Is there a fix for this? Thanks!

Hello you have been a great help. Stupid that microsoft changed something that worked great. Im now on Rufus version: 4.4.2103
there where extra options in this version. are there extra settings i had to change?

It's not possible. You need to format to change it. Also it's been one year and this video is 1 year old.

Hi, very helpful video. I have a slightly different issue. I put in a new motherboard, cpu and ram. Now the computer won't recognize the hard drive as bootable, in bios it just says no bootable device found. Asus rog strix b760-a gaming board so u can't do what you're doing and check system requirements. What else can I do to make the pc work?
Check your sata cable, most likely its not plugged in properly or damaged.
Why not just go to the search bar and type in”create recovery drive “

Do I need to reinstall my OS because it was on legacy bios and I can't turn that damn secure boot on. I can only turn tpm on. 😑😑😑 when I tried to put it in UEFI mode my pc won't boot to windows startup it keeps going back to bios
I updated bios and now it is in CSM legacy bios...

That's a good question. Mabe yes mabe no. Google it and look around. Did you make backup before installing? If yes then if you do have to reinstall you just reinstall windows back to how you left it like if nothing ever happened or you have to have everything deleted and loose everything and start over. Really hope you made a disk image or clone of your hard drive. This is a prime example of why people should. Never know.
I had the same problem. You have to change the MBR to gpt.
i think there are settings you could change in the registry to avoid the tpm thing and the errors saying your pc not supported
But then you wont receive security updates
Run cmd as admin and type brm2gpt /convert /allowfullos, did the trick for me. Make sure to not have more than 3 partitions on c. If you run into an error, try force deleting the recovery partition.

Is there anything windows 11 does windows 10 can't??.
They are both the same, apart from the GUI feature upgrades
Seems they are the same apart from the GUI, I'll keep window 10. My pc is not supported by windows 11 anyway. It's still capable machine i7 4790k 16 GB of ram 1050ti card 4GB and a 500Gb nvme. Fast enough for me. Time to save a little each month. Maybe turn it into a Linux server for Plex??
