My mother (married in 1943) had a collection of white pineapple scarves on top of every piece of wood furniture. Nothing was allowed to be set directly on the wood on pain of death. One very similar to this one sat on our front entry table and hosted two Hummel figurines-Apple Boy and Goose Girl. I may have to make this just for the memory. Thank you! This pattern would have definitely been mom approved!
I liked this one lot....enough to try the whole thing. Keeping my fingers crossed the instructions for putting it all together are as straight forward as the motiff was!! 🤞 Thank you !!
The 'Lucky Star' motif. My grandmother made these by the hundreds to make tablecloths, bedspreads and runners. I have her pattern, dog-eared and worn, and her hooks.
This is so pretty I love the idea of using the sticky notes to keep your place I’ve started doing this on patterns as well and it makes so much difference to me being autistic I can’t wait to try some of these patterns myself
BAM! And that is how it is supposed to go. Knowing how talented you are, watching you stuggle with the last couple of mystery projects has been an education in perseverance. Thank you. This is beautiful.
It really is a very pretty pattern and is definitely similar to many l inherited from my mum's collection from the late 40s on. I grew up in house with doileys on all the wood surfaces!
Real Pretty. I too recall seeing these on my Granny's and one Aunty's furniture - I think they were called antimacassers (spelling?). I always thought they were to protect the back of chairs from my dad and my uncles Brylcreamed hair - anyone else remember Brylcreme 😂😂
This is very appealing! This is precisely the kind of thing my great aunt Maude used to make. She did this from 1906 through the early 1970's to keep her fingers busy almost until her death at age 81 in 1975.
I love watching your videos while I stitch. So, so soothing. And I've learned a lot about reading vintage crochet patterns. In fact, I'm working on a vintage baby bonnet pattern right now, and it would definitely NOT have worked if I hadn't learned about UK vs US crochet terms. The only problem with watching crochet videos while stitching is that every once in a while I will say, "Stop counting while I'm trying to count, girlfriend!" It cracks my family up. They are so entertained by me talking to youtube videos. 😁😄😆
Wow that's a great pattern !! You nailed it, didn't doubt you for a min !! So pretty for anything and ur scrap book !! I am starting one right now !! Thank You for another great video 📷📷 !!
Nailed it! I wondered why you would need so many balls of thread for a small doily. Makes sense as a table runner! I’m making my first tablecloth merging a few different ideas. It’s for my son’s wedding on April 6th, I hope I finish it in time!
Another great video. This one is beautiful! I can see it in red for a Christmas table runner. The instructions were so simply explained. I'd like to find out how they put them together.
You came so, so close 🎉 You miscounted on your very first round 😢, which is why your motif is lopsided - around the 4:25 mark. (You have nine petals instead of eight)
Oh my gosh! This brought back childhood memories. My mom used to crochet this pattern that had been handed down from her mom. But they made them into hot pad for dishes. Thank you, I do enjoy your videos.
I learned to crochet with these kinds of patterns. I was a young mom and could afford balls of thread at Woolworths. Doilies had made a comeback so it was all good. I have to smile when new crocheters these days say they have to watch a video because they can’t read patterns.
I'll have to make this myself. It reminds me of the doilies my grandma used to have on every side table and on the arm of every chair in her home. I didn't expect to feel so nostalgic over a crochet video today.
I need to express my gratitude publicly. Thanks to you, Corinna, I've been practicing with steel hooks all week, in anticipation of this video. I wanted to be able to do it with thread, rather than yarn, so I left my excuses behind, told the voice in my head to take a break (grab a sandwich, get a nap in, you know you don't need to listen to that voice 24/7), and began. I worked with what I had, which is a 1mm hook and size 10 thread. it took forever, the center looks like I had a stroke, but my stitching became more even as I went on. Towards the end, I even developed a little speed. And I did it! I have the thing in front of me, and it's difficult for me to believe that it came off of my hook. But who else is here? Also, I feel like I'm finally a part of this community, because I learned about this aspect of the craft. There's not much else holding me back at this point. You are a national treasure, I kid you not. Please don't give up on yourself, your dreams, or your audience. You've become special to me, and I appreciate all that you do.
Love your videos. I have been following since the channel started, and have been inspired to try these alongside you many times! Keep crocheting, we love you!
Just loved this, going to get this one and make it. Please keep this up it is so fun, especially when you get confused, I am lmao as you go through it. Not that I think it's great you are struggling but just knowing others out there go through the frustration of understanding patterns. It's such a joy to tune in to you. Love just Corina content too, so much, you go girl.❤
I loved this one! It's so pretty! I learned something this week that may help you. Anything in ( ) is meant to be worked all in the same stitch. Knowing that, you wouldn't have had a question about whether you were right or not to put all the tc in that same stitch. Love ya, Corinna!❤️🧶
I have all he steel hooks my grandmother and aunt used when I e Was a youngster(I'm now 79) . They made doilies to sell for extra income for the family. You have me wanting to buy this thread so maybe I can keep the legacy going for the young ones in my family now. I do have a daughter and grandson who grochet as well. Happy times and many old and. new memories for me. Thank you.
I have been trying to learn how to crochet for the majority of my 54 life and couldn't figure it out. I'm dyslexic and learning how to do the stitches and or read the patterns have been such a pain. But then I found your channel and I followed along with you one stich at a time and finally have learn four stitches!! I'm still trying to learn others and I thank you for helping me without your mystery crochet series I just don't think I would be as far as I am now ❤. Thank you very much. Love the content and, and you are a wonderful teacher.❤
I adore this pattern! It truly is gorgeous. I don’t know if I would make multiple motifs to make a table runner but this pattern is most definitely a keeper!🥰
I went thru my grandma’s old patterns and they are from the late 40’s early 50’s. Was wondering if you would like to have them. I really want them to go to someone who would appreciate them.
I am not a crocheter and don't aspire to be. My advancing vision issues wouldn't permit it, I'm afraid. I did attempt knitting long ago... made me sooo tense that I essentially knit the needles INTO my project and had to fight to pull them out! But watching these vintage crochet videos actually calms me at the end of the day... I have weaned myself from TV and watch these crochet mysteries unfold. A wonderful concept and very therapeutic in effect!
Nailed it, C.! Really lovely, and yes, easy. Not super confusing like some of the past patterns. I'm hoping to make some legwarmers, soon. Hugs, always.
I have just made two of these doilies, and I’ve had so much enjoyment making them. Thank you for this wonderful pattern and all the work you do. Ian from Wales 🏴. Xxx
Now that we know how to do the pattern, we can do it with 3 or 4 ply, and put some corners on it to make a go-round of whatever Stitches are necessary to make a good square, and out of all subsequent squares, a blanket!
Oh my gosh! This is crazy beautiful! I’ve never work with what I call thread. I’m going to try this! My goodness!!!! You are so gifted! You have yet again taught me so much! Thank you 🙏 ❤
Hello Corrina, such a sweet little table runner piece. I can see this made as a single piece also. Thanks for the video, looking forward to the next one.
I just watched this video and I was so happy that you had one that didn't make you crazy! It's absolutely beautiful and actually looks like something I might try. Please keep your videos coming! I especially like the mysteries! ❤
I love this pattern. You did a great job making this come to life. I have a question for you. I know you want to have lace curtains in your home, which I think would look beautiful. So why with all your talents of Crocheting, why are you not making them as well as re-purposing the ones you can find at the antique shops? I have never worked with lace before but I am currently buying all the Susan Bates Steelite Lace Crochet Hooks, it's not an easy task..lol..lol🙃, but I will find all the ones I can get my hands on, then I will try some of your beautiful patterns. Thank you for sharing your talents. You're a great teacher. You also make it a fun time, which I am a super fan of yours. ❤ 🦆
great job Corinna! i love it as a tables runner but if i’m honest i kinda prefer it as a doily 😂. You definitely needed this pattern after doing those from the book that shall not be named lol. Looking forward to the next video ❤❤❤
The thumbnail is already very interesting 1940s are exciting...this has to be good...2 minutes in... Love the pattern...looks great. On the list, I will make this for sure.
Thank you for this video. I bought the pattern from an Etsy seller several months ago and got really quite confused. It’s nice to see that I was right up until the border, about were.
This one is fun to make! find the pattern here newagaincrochet.etsy.com/listing/1699463177/vintage-crochet-1940s-motif-with-video

I still love the pineapple!
I have Hummel boy with basket of bunnies ❤ my nana made beautiful doilies.
Please never stop

Well, git bizzy!
That pattern was one of the first ones I did when I learned to crochet with my aunty. I was 11 years old!

BAM! And that is how it is supposed to go. Knowing how talented you are, watching you stuggle with the last couple of mystery projects has been an education in perseverance. Thank you. This is beautiful.
My mom was about 6 years old when this pattern came out and it's one of the first patterns using thread that I learned 😊
You are worth your weight in gold Taking the time to teach youngsters of any age how to read a pattern is epic.
TH-cam has a gem of a channel here. Love, love, the content!!!!! I think this is a beautiful pattern!!!
It really is a very pretty pattern and is definitely similar to many l inherited from my mum's collection from the late 40s on. I grew up in house with doileys on all the wood surfaces!
I think most of us older generations saw these on all wood furniture and on the arms of chairs and couch. Ahhh the memories! ❤
Real Pretty. I too recall seeing these on my Granny's and one Aunty's furniture - I think they were called antimacassers (spelling?). I always thought they were to protect the back of chairs from my dad and my uncles Brylcreamed hair - anyone else remember Brylcreme 😂😂
yes, antimaccassars. Apparently, there was a brand of hairproduct for men by that name which stained the furniture 😅
This is very appealing! This is precisely the kind of thing my great aunt Maude used to make. She did this from 1906 through the early 1970's to keep her fingers busy almost until her death at age 81 in 1975.
It must have been so nice following a well written clear pattern after those last few nightmares, what a pretty one to.
Yes it was!

You're not alone in this lol.

This video was fun. No problems, no frustrations. Love listening to you as your voice is very soothing. Thank you
Another great video. This one is beautiful!
I can see it in red for a Christmas table runner.
The instructions were so simply explained. I'd like to find out how they put them together.
Literally just opened TH-cam to find something to watch/listen to while I crochet and this alert pops up! 😍😍
This was really a sweet pattern. The table runner would be super lovely.

Without forwarding the video and not reading comments, I see where this is going, I've seen my grandmother do this one.
Oh my gosh! This brought back childhood memories. My mom used to crochet this pattern that had been handed down from her mom. But they made them into hot pad for dishes. Thank you, I do enjoy your videos.
How amazing does this look and it hasn't even been blocked?
I’m so glad this new bowl started with a doily. And what a beautiful doily it is. Thank you.
I am so making this for my Mom in peacock colors! She used to live in Hawaii and misses her peacocks dearly. Thank you for sharing this! ❤️❤️❤️

Love this one....very delicate and pretty. Would definitely make after I finish my current WIPs! Great job!

It was written well and easy to follow. It also resembles a poinsettia. Beautiful.
I made mine with thicker yarn and a 4mm hook, and now I have a pretty doily to use to protect surfaces :3
I went thru my grandma’s old patterns and they are from the late 40’s early 50’s. Was wondering if you would like to have them. I really want them to go to someone who would appreciate them.
Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I always get so excited when a new video posts! Here we go…..😊

This is one of my favorites of the doily/lace/applique type of these mystery patterns. So pretty!
Nailed it, C.! Really lovely, and yes, easy. Not super confusing like some of the past patterns. I'm hoping to make some legwarmers, soon. Hugs, always.
This is a curtain-worthy one!
Oh that is pretty, great work, thanks for sharing this beautiful pattern 😊
This doily turned out to be so dainty. I like it a lot!

Beautiful!!! So happy for a mystery today!!
Hello Corrina, such a sweet little table runner piece. I can see this made as a single piece also. Thanks for the video, looking forward to the next one.
Ohhhh a full bowl… ready to dive into this mystery 🧡
I love the mystery crochet alongs! The joining of the motifs to make it a runner would be interesting too.
I’ve actually made this, but I made it into a tablecloth. One of my favorites!❤
You did it; that is very pretty.
This is a very beautiful pattern. I was so nice to see you have a good time making this as opposed to the frustration of the last few patterns.
Very pretty indeed! Just goes to show it doesn't need to be overly complicated to make nice things!
So true!
Such a pretty little thing Corrina .. yet again a great success well done..❤️❤️
I just watched this video and I was so happy that you had one that didn't make you crazy! It's absolutely beautiful and actually looks like something I might try. Please keep your videos coming! I especially like the mysteries! ❤
The pattern is lovely. Would make a beautiful bedspread also.
Such a pretty motif! Definitely scrap-book worthy! 🦋
Beautiful pattern. Would make a beautiful coaster set.
That is really pretty. Another great video ❤

Lol our little dog when I say Grandpa's home he goes crazy
Love the mystery patterns! How about some footage of Merlin on occasion?😍
I have this pattern in a booklet of tablecloth designs. I have done near 80 of them. The pattern is called "Lucky Star".
It's a very pretty design, 😊 neat and sweet! ❤
Gorgeous! I LOVE doilies. I made one with worsted weight yarn. It’s about 4 feet across and it’s my headboard.
I like this one. Your voice is very soothing.
Das ist wirklich wunderschön geworden, vielen Dank dafür!
Loved that. Looked lovely but seemed simple to follow 😊
Happy to hear you unstressed!
Nailed it. I really like that, it is so pretty.
You nailed Corrina ❤
Gorgeous! Definitely worthy of the scrapbook ~ or frame it & hang it in your house! ❤
I loved this pattern..did it in aran weight yarn and hubby likes it for a table topper
You nailed this one. Cute little pattern!
This one is so cute and delicate.
great job Corinna! i love it as a tables runner but if i’m honest i kinda prefer it as a doily 😂. You definitely needed this pattern after doing those from the book that shall not be named lol. Looking forward to the next video ❤❤❤
This one is a real beauty as a doily
I have made thus before and it realy fun to make! thank you for this mystery pattern. I love your channel

Love the pattern...looks great. On the list, I will make this for sure.
What a beautiful pattern. Can you please do another tutorial on how to join the motives to make the table runner ?? Thank you!
Thank you for this video. I bought the pattern from an Etsy seller several months ago and got really quite confused. It’s nice to see that I was right up until the border, about were.
I like this one, i've done one very simmilar as cup coasters in blue
Love your channel, Corinna. This pattern is gorgeous!
I really liked this pattern too. Well done! 🎉
Love watching the patterns emerge as you work it out. So relaxing.
Wow, that one is quite pretty!
its interesting when you like a pattern, your hands do too. you had happy hands. in this!
