I find these street running trains fascinating. I never knew anything like this existed. The townspeople probably take it in stride and it’s probably not a big deal to them anymore but you still have to admit, it’s not something most of us see (especially running down the main part of town. Very cool!

Incidentally, I had an uncle who was an engineer and my mother told me he was killed one day trying to beat a train across the tracks. True story.

@@Dude0000 Most train cars hold more than a truck is legally allowed to haul. You certainly aren't going to have trucks hauling the same load as a 100 ton hopper, or a 125 ton freight car, which are their capacities. Most trucks are 40 tons and below.

Also I like your buddy Alan Smith. you both do a great job. I lke to watch the engine to the last car. Those cars tell you a lot about the train and where they are coming from. I was watching trains as soon as I could walk and met a lot of hobows along the way. Keep up the good work that is fun.

Sweet video I caught a CSX train that came out of Rice Yard in Waycross Ga with 4 engines on it two covered NREX engines and 242 cars altogether. It was 14440 feet long or 2.7 miles long. The new attitude of CSX is "We don't care" IMO.

It's long to make more money, only have to pay for fuel for 2 engines and 2 crew men. Dangerous to have trains that long. Picture a hot box or some other problem on the 193rd car, let's see how long to walk the length, of that train, then decide what to do. How do you set out a car on a train that long. What's if's up the ying yang. It's cool to look at and it makes more money for the share holders. But it is just to long to run in a town.

Can you imagine if someone who lived in Bible days could stand on that street corner and watch that go by what they would think?

Sir; ‘I like the cut of your jib’
This a super long fabulous train it sounds amazing. I believe it’s in Australia 🇦🇺 that have the longest trains. They are in a dedicated straight line from a mine in the outback straight to the dockside. 7 miles long (from memory it may be a little shorter) you should check them out. I just read about it dunno if it’s on TH-cam

I'm a conductor for UP and honestly people if i was assigned to a train like that, I'd be laying off for the next for days for being pissed. I'd feel for the conductor if that sucker lost air.

Do you live nearby this location and you hear the train coming giving you a chance to get on site or did you just happen or purpose to be there to catch this. It was great. At a previous location where I live in Fl..I used to hear CSX coming into town and I had enough time to get to Florida Furniture and Consolidated States and watch switching those two industries. I was not aware of TH-cam back then...not even sure if it existed.. too bad because that would have made for some nice footage to share. Thank you for sharing this .. Tom

No, I live in Ohio almost 200 miles from St Marys WVa. I waited there for the train. I was there all day and 2 trains went by and a high rail truck. Sometimes I wait for up to 6 hours for trains. What part of Florida are you from? I am actually going there on Saturday to spend a week with my friend Alan. I cant wait to get out of this cold weather. Thanks for watching my videos!

I live just south of Palatka..it's 90 min S of Jax, 90 min N or Daytona, 90 min E of Gainesville and 32 mi inland from St. Augustine. I am watching another video now (paused it to answer back) from this same location.. you and a friend are in the "Boxcar" restaurant. Thank you for the speedy reply. I really like your content.. glad that I found your channel. Tom
