I find these street running trains fascinating. I never knew anything like this existed. The townspeople probably take it in stride and it’s probably not a big deal to them anymore but you still have to admit, it’s not something most of us see (especially running down the main part of town. Very cool!
@@Dude0000 Most train cars hold more than a truck is legally allowed to haul. You certainly aren't going to have trucks hauling the same load as a 100 ton hopper, or a 125 ton freight car, which are their capacities. Most trucks are 40 tons and below.
Wow....I got 193 cars in that freight and something for everyone except for box cars. Great little town ....wonderful. Nice video Brian, love your technique of scanning from the front along to the rear.
I had enough time to go to the kitchen and make a coffee. When I left there was black tankers going by, when I came back it was grey hoppers. WOW! that's one long train. Great video thanks for sharing.
I thought I waited for long trains in the past, but this was REALLY long! And to think I didn't even have to be in my car. I could watch this video from the comfort of my easy chair. GREAT VIDEO! Job well done, thanks. And ONLY two locomotives doing the job. That's quite powerful!
There doesn't seem to be a lot of love out there for Hunter Harrison. That train took forever going down the street.I wouldn't be surprised if there were a few upset people in cars waiting for it to pass.I enjoyed watching it.Great catch and thumbs up!!!!!

Couldn't resist. "Didn't even count the cars," was said at the beginning. "Had to" (again). 204 cars plus 2 locomotives. That must be some flat terrain on that line for a train THAT long with no DPU. Guessing, what... 0.5% or maybe a 1% leading grade, and 1% at most? Impressive. Nice catch!
I always enjoy seeing how the city has the traffic lights wired up to approaching trains and the different types of flash sequences and warning devices different cities have in place. 🚦
So....this one flashes AMBER for the main drag.....and RED for the crossing traffic? Looks like an additional AMBER light for the main drag....I thought the sign there was mentioning about pedestrians....lol.

I was watching trains as soon as I could walk and met a lot of hobows along the way. Keep up the good work that is fun.
Sweet video I caught a CSX train that came out of Rice Yard in Waycross Ga with 4 engines on it two covered NREX engines and 242 cars altogether. It was 14440 feet long or 2.7 miles long. The new attitude of CSX is "We don't care" IMO.
Speaking of Waycross, you may find this one to be interesting. It's CSX's retirement yard for locomotives. 2:17 long. Drone footage. th-cam.com/video/peSbb7mzGFo/w-d-xo.html
If there is no alternative route to reach some parts of the city while the train is present I would be very surprised if there was not an arrangement in place with CSX dispatch to provide the emergency services dispatcher sufficient notice of approaching trains that the latter can dispatch standby resources to cover that area for the few minutes until the train passes.
Hey Jawtooth, nice video but an even nicer barn that you’re working on; how about a video on the barn? One of my favorite cable TV shows is Barnwood Builders with Mark Bowe. Looks like you have a nice post and beam barn there??

That was a MASSIVE STREET RUNNER with "203" cars! Awesome video JT and as you know the "STREET RUNNING TRAINS" are my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE!
Mine too!
At the back of the train should be a sign “We brake for nobody” 😁

Incidentally, I had an uncle who was an engineer and my mother told me he was killed one day trying to beat a train across the tracks. True story.
The heartbeat and veins of America, right there. Imagine how many trucks we'd need to move that.
Sean White 203? One truck per carriage...
Seneca’s Adoptive Son don’t think he’s literally trying to think of how many we’d need

Great video, good size train for just 2 big units and no DPUs. Heartbeat of America right there.👍🏼🚂
You got that right!
Wow, I can't believe the train is going on roadways along with rails merged with the middle of the road. This is incredible to see!

8,400 Horsepower.
right on the $$$
8800 hp 4400 hp each
