- I started working on this a month or so ago and after finishing some owed art I let myself finish this! I’m excited to make this PMV. A lot of the character art should be pretty easy, I’m not looking forward to the backgrounds though lmao
I might do the same thing that I did with Pigeon and make a couple big backgrounds for the majority of the video, idk
Besides it maybe being kinda hard to tell which character is which, I feel like the storyline of the PMV is pretty straight forward. These are some of my OCs, the main one being Root. The wolf near the end, I’m sure some of you recognise, is Pyro! The other family members I have no names for yet rip

Ok late but I think we can all agree that Root doesn't regret a single thing they did at all, they just act sad around the wolf to not get caught (As in make the wolf believe it was a accident or something), but that's just what I think
ClosestPoint or, you can go obvious and she actually doesn’t care, because that’s the smartest option for somebody to make. I think hot dog is right, and she actually doesn’t care, and she’s just acting not to get killed by the wolf

I still don't see how the wolf could think that it was an "accident". She's covered in blood, there are graves prepared for her victims, and the family is lying dead there.

The wolf is a cool character, but seems pretty gullible at the situation.

Not only is the storyline perfectly written, but the song being called 'Cain' is a direct reference to the biblical story of Cain and Abel where Cain (Root) kills his Abel (Root's sibling) because Abel was God's (their parents) favourite. Very clever. Very perfect choice.

And the fact that this wasn't just a snapping point, because Root already had planned enough to have graves dug for her family, shows how much this was premeditated.
I think that if the main is root, their brother shoud be tree! The tree is always seen while roots are usually forgotten, whileas trees are easily removed while roots tend to... linger.

I really like how the main character was written. They have a sort of manipulative personality, for example crying to make the wolf feel bad but then not actually being visibly sad at all. Everything drawn here is really dramatic and cool, especially the last death. I really can't wait to see this done!
Edit: After reading a few comment, probably from people who know more about this story than me, I like that she only shows feelings when people look at her. Maybe it's not that she's manipulative and it's just that she doesn't show emotion?
She only seems to show emotion when someone, Pyro, looks at her after the killing spree, so id think its a manipulative personality!

LIKE DANG even tho this is an animatic it already looks so good!! Like youre really great at capturing mood and going with the music,, its crazy to see how quick it went to cute and calm to violent, and you can even see that reflected in your style too, like it subtlety changes when more intense things happen. Really cool!!

Your song choices are always perfection! It's weird seeing such a sympathetic and concerned Pyro, but I absolutely here for that kind of duality. As well as with, Root. I like how as he (assuming he?) kills a member of his family he gets more violent with each one. He certainly seems to hold a bigger grudge towards his parents than his brother. Excited to see this when its completely done! I'm still reeling from Pigeon and this one might lay me out entirely.
well this long before pyro is a bad pee pee man. it was actually really hard to draw him like this though, I'm so used to making him look like a mean old man!

This is amazing!^ the characters seem so interesting! I'd love to learn more about them!! this may sound weird, but you're sorta one of my biggest inspirations. The ashfur pidgeon AMV inspired me to draw and learn about animation etc.

The part where the blood slowly spreads and their paw unclenches really hit me, it’s so suspenseful!! The story fits so well with the animation

oh my gosh after the multitude of times i’ve watched this amv i’ve only just realized that when the dad shows up and there’s the shot overhead of the clearing you can see the three graves that have been dug. CHILLS!!
I thought this was Ivypool at first due to the thumbnail, but I quickly realised its an OC. From the comments I’ve read, the story sounds really interesting! Can’t wait to see it finished!!
ohmygod this is really good!! the end gave me vibes that root had no regrets in killing his/her family, and played it off to the wolf to seem that way. im guessing root is close w/ the wolf?? also i love how you made hope when the third cat was about to kill them, but we got a sneaky pulled on us. [ haha tbh kinda wish they did,, im not one to like villain characters ]

Here's what I think, I think I might think Root didn't feel included in the family, or had something against the family. Therefore killing them. Root seems to only show emotion and cry when the wolf is around to not get caught, to seem pitiful to get the wolf to help them.
There’s one thing I’m not sure about that maybe you guys can help me with; should I add lyrics to the final product? I feel like it would look good in some places, but not in others... thoughts?
ComicSavagery lyrics to accentuate some scenes would be super cool, just experimenting is a good idea
Id say add them and see how they look! Maybe it they don’t look good you could put it behind characters or make it less obvious!
ComicSavagery I think you should add lyrics in certain places but in others, just leave it to the animation. Sometimes the lyrics can pull away from scenes with a lot of movement, y’know?
I think lyrics would look good! If you cant really find a place for them try to add them in the bg and smaller or smth?
Lyrics in only some parts can actually work really well and it can be pulled off! For example the map Needletails Duology only has lyrics in some parts

Ahhh this is the best thing I’ve ever seen!! The designs are recognizable and the story is very clear! I love it!! It’s so well done when she climactically murders her mother- I love the camera movements!! And the manipulative vibes she gives off when she fake-cries for sympathy are chilling!!! The facial expressions are insane! There are even a ton of little details- like at 1:41 for example, there are already graves dug out for all three of her family members! The style of art and how the shots switch matches the beat of the music perfectly, and it’s incredible!!!!!
Is this still going to become a full PMV? Honestly, it’s amazing enough right now- but if it is, I can’t wait!!
