Tbh ur critique videos are some of the most helpful I’ve seen! I like that you don’t only critique beginners like other people, it helps me a lot since I’m not a beginner and I’ve genuinely learned so from these videos! :3 Also ur definitely the most respectful, I think it’s nice how ur videos are professional critiques and not just making fun of people ^^
one tip for beginner artists, if your style is line art heavy, like if you use thick lines and need the line art, do not smudge out your shadows. leave them to be harsh edges, i see way to many artists abuse the smudge tool when they don't know how to properly use it, shadows should not be smudgy, all shadows have a pretty harsh edge, 2:31
I really love the art at 5:13 and the before and after of the critique are both pieces I would love to have on my wall. The first art was good, nice colors, cool pose, but the extra shadows really made it pop. I didn't mind the stoic expression so I think that just adding more singular shadows and tilting the pose would have been enough. Although it was cute to see them awed by their magic.
I wanted to say I appreciate how you addressed differing character heights in the bit about one point perspective. I’ve seen some “art hacks” and “quick tips” on sites like Pinterest where they try to universalize perspective and ignore the fact that not everyone is the same height (be it intentional or not) and it can be confusing for newer artists. I was confused by one of those for a while until I noticed that two characters of different heights (a child and an adult in the same image) didn’t seem to follow the same rules that the image was trying to prove as universal fact and so I disregarded it as myth. The way you put it makes much more sense and also doesn’t disregard height differences and I wanted to take a moment to appreciate that. :)
10:45 the one on perspective with the forest background it’s actually from the anime Mushishi!! I think they just drew over the background and forgot to erase the character lol
11:40 It's the first time i understand about perspective!! Would you be willing to make a tutorial about basic perspective one day? It would be really appreciated
Wow I’ve never been so early to a L2DM video! Your work is so inspiring and you’re always so productive and kind in your critique videos. Thanks for sharing😊
youre literally the only person i can watch critique your viewers art because youre so understanding and you take the persons opinion on the artwork and look at it in their point of you AND your own. you also dont change the persons art style and that makes me so happy. i love you and your videos!! ❤❤
Great video Rebekah! 😊 I always enjoy the critiques. I got busy with life events when you did a post about sending in our art to critique and forgot to do it. 😅 Hopefully, next time, I will do it. 😊
me still wondering how people practice a lot while me a slow artist. There's nothing wrong with that I just feel like I need to work more and I still don't understand bodies- and hands I can get used too. They seem easy for me when it comes to simple shapes! But bodies I really struggle with and I have no idea how people can see it's easy. reference do help, I just don't use them often- haha- anyways, I'm just struggling with bodies a lot and clothing I understand the folds but they still feel flat- haha- anyways these tips are really helpful:D
Lol, I have improved in my art a lot recently by watching art youtubers a lot, and stuffing my pride in a closet so I can use references without feeling guilty. Art is not instinct! To some degree you know, but learning is a huge part of it, so don't be afraid to use a reference, they teach well! Edit: Also your profile pic is so cute, did you draw it?
@AbigailMC9 yes I did thank you:D I also found out that videos don't help me because on HOW FAST IT GOES AHHHHH, lol, but yeah reference can totally help
@@ItzRosePlayz51 Oh, lol, yeah I never use the drawing tutorials, they are so annoying! I just watch art videos like this one and kinda pick stuff up from it
@AbigailMC9 ye! We are all different and how our brain works with art, for me videos are too fast haha- but hey if it works for you then I'm very glad!
10:37 This was super super helpful, thanks so much!! ❤ But there's just one problem 😓 I didn't draw the character in the background. I did in fact download it and placed it as a background, but the character came with it 😅 Still though, even if it wasn't exactly what I meant by perspective, this is still super helpful because I also struggle with placing characters at a distance in the right perspective. Thank you so so much, Rebekah ♥︎
Your video has made my day a lot better because I have a end of course test on Monday for US History. So, thank you Rebekah for another wonderful video and I hope you have a wonderful day ✨
You email her your art at the time she makes an announcement for art critiques. This will be found on her community tab. She no longer take Instagram submissions because they completely ruined the recents section of tags. So email is your best bet.
Thanks so much for the tips, they really helped me, also with my submission of my oc, I forgot important info and I sent an extra email and I wanted to know if you got it
@@Love2DrawManga Ok thats okay, it was just an extra email about my character Ari's height, saying that she's 2ft tall, just cuz i didn't want you to accidently draw her the size of a full grown human if you chose her lol
I didn’t know you stopped taking Instagram submissions I posted mine forever ago but it didn’t make the cut so I guess I have to email you or something to try? It’s just very confusing to figure out and I wish you did these more so more people could get in, but if that’s too much I understand
I’m not entirely sure but I think there’s a couple ways. You can do it on Twitter or Instagram and I think there might be a way to do in on TH-cam but I don’t know how.

Thanks for these tips I will definitely use the techniques that you mentioned in the video for my own art

I sent my character too, via email

Aw, thank you! I'm happy to hear my explanation made sense!

Ok but the explanation even for it being unintentional really helps.

These tips inspired me to go draw something, thanks so much!
I love how she can still make it seem kind when she’s critiquing, and make it sound like she’s teaching the artists rather than scolding them!!! 💕

Why does the after results of the first critique look like she animated
Bc she uses an editing app that's mainly used to animate (i think)
I will try to apply a few of the tips on my own art as I strugle with clothes a lot
I live your videos so much Rebekah.
It’s my birthday today :D

What is your favorite anime?
Alot of food comes in those Tokyo Treat boxes.
How do I submit my art for critique?
Idk, try checking the description maybe?
@@Olivia-g6z There's nothing in the description that says how. I hope it isn't a patreon only thing.
