Perfect…except for the whole grandpa reading the story to his grandson thing. I know it’s a fantasy movie and all but it just makes the movie feel less real. Take out that part and just have the grandpa be the narrator and the movie’s perfect!
@@KingCasual1986 I actually loved the storytime segments of the movie, especially the end when the grandson asks if Grandpa could read it again; to which the grandpa replies with "as you wish"
1:20 "Anybody want a peanut?" Most memorable line! So awesome you can say this just about anywhere and there's always someone that is going to know what you're referring to! "Inconceivable!" has got to be the most recognized one word line from a movie, EVER!
My son is about the same age as Fred Savage in the movie. I went to show him the movie the other day and his reaction was pretty much the same as the grandson's reaction in the movie. "I don't want to watch a princess movie."
"You fell victim to one of the classic blunders - the most famous of which is "never get involved in a land war in Asia" - but only slightly less well-known is this..."
Such a good film - I was only telling my daughter about it a couple of days ago - and Cary Elwes was the dreamiest most beautiful god of a man, he made me go weak at the knees "as you wish...."
I forced my parents to hire this movie when I heard 2 guys (Python fans) in my English class quoting line after line and laughing. No regrets (by anyone in the family)!
My GF was sick today so I cuddled with her on the couch and she watched this for the first time. Started disinterestedly teasing me on the cheesy movie but by the end I had her! ☺️
Get away witch!!! I'm not a witch I'm your wife!🤣 that's a classic line also the part where vincinny says to andre dispense of him YOUR way and andre replies oh thanks vincinny, then thinks 🤔 and says "which way is my way?"🤣 oh and last one when andre talks about being so big and strong and says a CLASSIC "I don't even EXERCISE!!!" in his bellowing GIANT voice 😁😂🤣 the funny thing is it's true🤣
A former pastor at the church my parents go to actually performed at least one wedding ceremony like the priest in the movie. I would have loved to have been there.
My older brother was a fencer in university. At one point ( early '80's ) he met one of the two men who would later train Westley and Inigo for the swordfighting scene.
I always loved the part where Wesley and Buttercup are still on the farm and she’s realizing she’s falling in love with him. She says, “Fetch me that pitcher?” ( Which has the same amount of words as “Do you love me” she asks him with her eyes just by asking for a pitcher) and he responds with, of course…. “As you wish” ( Same amount of words as “I love you.” He answers with his eyes…..as a 14 year old girl, many, many, many moons ago, it was swoon worthy. I’ve now shared this film with my children and grandchildren. It really is the Wizard of Oz of our generation.
"True Love is the greatest thing in the World. Except a nice MLT, mutton, lettuce, and tomato sandwich where the mutton is nice and lean" - Miracle Max
Couldn't help adding a comment. Not about these people, but the movie. It was just like one of those old Anderson fairy tales coming back to life! And,the English countryside with it's lush green pastures was simply marveleous-not to mention that colourful romance...!!
@@miguelBT2809 na, it's you just being sensitive, look up "How Gal Gadot Went From Israeli Army to Miss Universe to Wonder Woman | Screen Tests | W Magazine" on youtube.
I remember watching this movie as a kid when it first came out and to me, it was just another film, was kinda funny but whatever. We were so spoiled in the 80s with so many great films every year you just became complacent but now comparing films from 30 years ago to what is being made today and everything was a masterpiece..
During the sword fight after climbing the cliff What’s so funny Because I know something you do not I’m not left handed Music 🎶 I’m not left handed either
'The Princess Bride' is the best movie ever; it has something for everyone and is timeless.
In a word: Perfect.
True
Perfect…except for the whole grandpa reading the story to his grandson thing. I know it’s a fantasy movie and all but it just makes the movie feel less real. Take out that part and just have the grandpa be the narrator and the movie’s perfect!
Agreed

RIP Andre the Giant, you were one of a kind.
He truly was the Big Friendly Giant.
It's so great to see that this movie touched so many people. A beautiful film.
Jake Gyllenhaal's Billy Crystal voice is on point lol
John Stowell it was actually perfect! 😂😂
Well, he did play his son in "City Slickers".
that was him???!!! O___O
@@toddsmitts I want to one day play Mandy Patinkin's daughter. Why? Because Inigo Montoya is my favorite character! He's such a badass with a sword!
My favorite is when she says “I will never doubt again” Then Westley says “There will never be a need.” More romantic than “as you wish.”
"Life is a pain, highness. Anyone who says differently is selling something."

Yes!!
Lol I love Paul Scheer trying to build up a resistance to lactose
Shea Depmore an amazing and beautiful movie put together.

The way Jessica said that line was just................TOO ADORABLE!!!!!
My son is about the same age as Fred Savage in the movie. I went to show him the movie the other day and his reaction was pretty much the same as the grandson's reaction in the movie. "I don't want to watch a princess movie."
But it has everything: fencing, fighting, torture, revenge, giants, monsters... !
“Your pig fiancée is too late”
Underrated line
0:38 Jake Gyllenhaal makes a great Billy Crystal impersonation.
Great movie. This is a great idea btw. It's nice to see other actors react to a beloved movie.
"As you Wish" is my all time fave quote x
"You fell victim to one of the classic blunders - the most famous of which is "never get involved in a land war in Asia" - but only slightly less well-known is this..."
Never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line hahahahahahaha
Ahahaha.....*thud. 😂
Brilliant BRILLIANT line!

"You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means."
…何十年も経ってるのに何故この映画がこんなにも人々から愛されているのか…見れば分かります!…見ないと損ょ❤😂
I remember a blockbuster employee recommend this movie to me when I was a kid. I rented it and loved it ever since.
I forced my parents to hire this movie when I heard 2 guys (Python fans) in my English class quoting line after line and laughing. No regrets (by anyone in the family)!
Fantastic segment! I've read where some reviewers consider it to be the "Wizard of OZ" of the second half of the 20th century.
I've seen this movie so many times I can recite the whole thing word for word
Yes, I was downsizing my DVD collection last year and realised I didn't need to own this movie cos I know it off by heart
My GF was sick today so I cuddled with her on the couch and she watched this for the first time. Started disinterestedly teasing me on the cheesy movie but by the end I had her! ☺️
Inconceivable!!!!!!
That is inconceivable Emma Roberts.
I used to have the entire "battle of wits" scene memorized.
"Truly, you have a dizzying intellect."
"Wait till I get going!"

Thank you for seeing this Hollywood icons who are also in love with this movie! It's precious
I wanted to have the priest at our wedding go in to character from this movie. My wife said no ;(
Bill Schwanitz WHY???
Damn shame
A former pastor at the church my parents go to actually performed at least one wedding ceremony like the priest in the movie. I would have loved to have been there.
I performed my brothers wedding ceremony and his wife actually requested I do it. One of the proudest days of my life.
She should have said "as you wish".
"Anybody want a peanut?" Is pure genius. Lol
THIS IS GOLD
Favorite scene?
Everything between the opening line and closing credits.
Perfect movie
By far my favorite movie of all time
My older brother was a fencer in university. At one point ( early '80's ) he met one of the two men who would later train Westley and Inigo for the swordfighting scene.
One of the most wholesome videos on the internet

Absolutely the greatest movie of all time!! Think I'll watch it tonight!
When you meet someone who has never seen The Princess Bride:
"Wow. And I thought such people were a myth."
I’m like: “Let’s watch it right away. You’ll love it! 😍🤣
Pro Tip: Never admit you've never seen The Princesse Bride, it never ends well.
And yet those people always out themselves by questioning lines you've quoted

Vizzini: Let me put it this way. Have you ever heard of Plato, Aristotle, Socrates, Morons👍😂
Nobody mentioned the actual best line from the movie by Andre
“Hey everybody, MOOOOVE!!!”
It was a perfect movie in every way. Anyone have any idea of something that wonderful in the future? I'd love it.
It's a classic... everybody loves this movie.
Steve Cartel’s face in the first 8 seconds “wait hold on no one prepared me….”
having Harry Osburne and Harley Quinn react to this already show what an iconic movie this is.
One of my favorite 🎥 of all time. 1:14 Rodents of usual size? I don’t 🤔 they exist.
WOW!! 30yrs
Damn. Its been to long since i saw this. I need to watch it so badly
0:13 Emma😂

Yass Gene, Gal Gadot wasn’t in this video. 😶 She is Israeli.🤔

Maybe the greatest movie of all time or up there
The princess bride should required watching for every child
Omg Jake 😂😂
There is a priest in Lake Charles, LA that talks just like the one from the movie. I had to get up and leave because I was laughing.
growing up in the 80s... never thought someone like maggo robbie or James Franco would knew this....
0:12 that is blasphemy, someone get Emma a copy of The Princess Bride!!!
0:05 who is she?
Seinfeld One Elle Fannning
Who is the guy near Jessica with the long hair?

Well spoken, sir...
as great as it is.. it wouldnt be that awesome without the soundtrack...
I just want Cary Elwes!! 😍😍😍

Bye-bye, Boys! Have fun storming the castle!
During the sword fight after climbing the cliff
What’s so funny
Because I know something you do not
I’m not left handed
Music 🎶
I’m not left handed either
Fezzik took great care reviving Inigo.
Cut to Andre the Giant dunking Mandy Patinkin into a barrel.
My fave character is Inigo Montoya!!!!!!! I want to make a movie where I play Inigo Montoya's daughter.
The memorable lines are repeated over and over and over in the script. Really clever writing to endure us the characters.
anyone else figuratively throw up in their mouth a wee bit when James Franco is on screen? or is it just me?
Why does no one make lighthearted fairytale movies anymore? Don't we need it the most today?
These actors can't talk about these movie, like real fans.
Have fun storming the castle! :-D
Have fun storming the castle!
"I don't have a lisp!"
FYI, the name should be Íñigo, not Inigo.
💕
I KNEW that there would be a group that wouldn’t know SH*T about the movie!
Lo & behold, a group with Steve Carell of all people!🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
Who movie is quotable.
Ya know?
Mandy Patinkin and "rodents of unusual size."
It doesn't get better than that
Rachel McAdams looks so much like Robin Wright.
To the 4 people who voted thumbs down: WTF!!!!!!
"Sorry Inigo, I didn't mean to jog him so hard." Not one mention? meh
emma stone looks like margot robbie
LOL! No way.
34 years NOW and counting, and this movie is STILL better than 100% of the trash hollyweird puts out today.
That blondie was cute as button
The princess bride is nothing without andre.
Lucio will come with another fact 🏃♂️🏃♂️
