Perfect…except for the whole grandpa reading the story to his grandson thing. I know it’s a fantasy movie and all but it just makes the movie feel less real. Take out that part and just have the grandpa be the narrator and the movie’s perfect!

Underrated line
My son is about the same age as Fred Savage in the movie. I went to show him the movie the other day and his reaction was pretty much the same as the grandson's reaction in the movie. "I don't want to watch a princess movie."
But it has everything: fencing, fighting, torture, revenge, giants, monsters... !
My favorite is when she says “I will never doubt again” Then Westley says “There will never be a need.” More romantic than “as you wish.”

A former pastor at the church my parents go to actually performed at least one wedding ceremony like the priest in the movie. I would have loved to have been there.
I performed my brothers wedding ceremony and his wife actually requested I do it. One of the proudest days of my life.

My older brother was a fencer in university. At one point ( early '80's ) he met one of the two men who would later train Westley and Inigo for the swordfighting scene.

Absolutely the greatest movie of all time!! Think I'll watch it tonight!
I always loved the part where Wesley and Buttercup are still on the farm and she’s realizing she’s falling in love with him. She says, “Fetch me that pitcher?” ( Which has the same amount of words as “Do you love me” she asks him with her eyes just by asking for a pitcher) and he responds with, of course…. “As you wish” ( Same amount of words as “I love you.” He answers with his eyes…..as a 14 year old girl, many, many, many moons ago, it was swoon worthy. I’ve now shared this film with my children and grandchildren. It really is the Wizard of Oz of our generation.
It's a classic... everybody loves this movie.

I remember watching this movie as a kid when it first came out and to me, it was just another film, was kinda funny but whatever. We were so spoiled in the 80s with so many great films every year you just became complacent but now comparing films from 30 years ago to what is being made today and everything was a masterpiece..

Funny video... but... I really didn’t like that movie. I really disliked it. A lot. And even more after I saw who directed it. I immediately watched A Few Good Men to clean it out of my mind.
So you watched a Drama movie that stinks with the bad actor dude from the Cult of scientology...good choice...every ticket purchase to a cruise movie is money in the pocket of his cult...you went from Comedy to Drama, I don't think you have it in you to laugh at much, if you say you do not like The Princess Bride...I think you do like it and it sounds like you can't handle the Truth...
