Oh, and the drum is called a bodhran. It's a traditional Irish drum.

I found The Sidh a while back. Alba, the silk road, gemina XIII..... They can do hard hitting songs like this and songs that give off a peaceful vibe. Great group.

Iridium is a platinum group metal. One of the rarest metals and most valuable. It's also incredibly dense and is mostly used in spark plugs.

That explains the metal time signatures on the bag pipe he playing it Troy from Nightwish style more but way faster holy fast

His name is Iain (super cool guy) he plays a set of Mccallum scottish bagpipes, the bag that you mention, bagpipe bags (specially on scottish bagpipes) come in many sizes from extra small to extra large. Most bagpipes don't play on a chromatic scale, scottish bagpipes play on Bb mixolidian and since bagpipes have a continuous sound you use grace notes to "repeat" notes

And yes, he kills it with the pipes, you should check nitro, utopia and tamu, all by them

Excellent rxn w/ great insights. I've listened to both Iridium and Thunderstruck a million times w/o ever making that connection and it seems so obvious now.

the extra drum is a bodhran (bo-ran) & my heart is joyful at your response to their music. the "dh" at the end of their name is pronounced like a soft "th" (the) & is Gaelic for 'hill or mound in which faeries live..." please go to one of their performances, you will be forever changed.
