- Starting up the Charlotte Trail Rankings Series again with all of the new changes to so many of the trailheads! There are definitely a ton of switches in position.
Riverwalk has probably some of the best potential out of any trail system in Charlotte. There is more than enough elevation but no one that knows how to build trails seems to put some effort into the whole trail system. Evan from The Cycle Path helped create the short track which is actually very fun but other than that, they are not great. To make matters worse, the signage is horrible. I have never met anyone that actually knows the correct way to navigate the trails. Intersections every 50 yards with no way to tell which way to go so you end up guessing. If you're short on time or its getting dark, good luck finding your way out if you're in the back side of the trails.
These really could be great if the trailblazers got ahold of this one and sent the best builders in the area to go make some proper trails!

This is one of my local trails, yet you have rode more than I here. Looks much better now than it did. I never liked it, but after watching this, I'll have to try it again. I felt this was like an easy version of charlotte backyard trails. Honestly, seems like a lot of trails are a mystery to navigate.
Being from RH, I'd much rather ride at Springs than Riverwalk. Near the end, when you were meandering and asking about whether it was a trail or not, that used to be probably the best section before the developer bulldozed it for more houses. I think that's been the major issue there, is that the trails are cut and the developer owns most of the land, so why put a ton of effort into something that's just going to possibly be lost to more houses. Nice to see the trail rankings series again!
I agree, but lately the bridge has been out and the trail is too short.
Totally agree with this one, riverwalk is ass 😂
