Thank you for this great video. Unfortunately, the Stripe interface has gone through a "facelift" since this video was recorded but it still is an effective tutorial. QUESTION: when you go live (and the GiveWP Payment Gateways -> Test Mode is Disabled), is it mandatory to switch off the "Test Mode" button on the Stripe Dashboard?

Thanks for the heads up on the Stripe interface change. To answer your question, Yes - the GiveWP Test Mode is separate from the Stripe Test Mode. You could turn off the GiveWP test mode but leave the Stripe Test Mode on and this would trigger the Stripe "webhook" so you can test the connection. If GiveWP test mode is on, nothing will be live. If you turn it off, then any gateway you have live (paypal or stripe or whatever) will also be live, unless they are in test mode as well. Hope that helps.

@@SteveVickAK Thank you for your lightening quick response. So to be absolutely clear... Both the GiveWP AND Stripe Dashboard cannot be in "Test Mode" once the site is live and if you want to accept donations? Having either in test mode will prevent the site from collecting donation money?

@@SteveVickAK great videos. Thank you for your hard work. As it was I had been testing my donation plugin before I wrote this comment. I was just confused whether both the GiveWP and Stripe needed to have Testing Disable once I went live. I now know the answer is yes and have been accepting donations for a week. Thank you for the follow up.

I set up my Stripe gateway and tested it successfully, but when I disabled test mode and tried a real transaction with my CC, I received 2 errors:
Error: Error creating payment intent with Stripe. Please try again.
    Error: Unhandled payment intent status:
    Any ideas?

This could be a java script error. Or a conflict with a plugin. Or it could be a caching issue. Do you have a cache plugin installed? Do you have all your plugins, theme and WP version up to date? Did you recently update any plugins? Here is a link to an old support ticket about a similar issue - wordpress.org/support/topic/error-creating-payment-intent-with-stripe-2/

***SOLVED**** Ok, so I decided to simply re-enter my API keys from Stripe into my donation plugin, and it is working now! I believe I must have had the wrong API key on my clipboard still when pasting in the LIVE secret key, and must have had the TEST one pasted in instead. I just wanted to post what solved it for me in case anyone else makes a similar stupid mistake when setting up. Thank you again for your quick response though!

    I have a problem
And I've got the roots of it.
when everything is setup, donation page setup, stripe account linked etc.
Problem is whenever a person AUTOFILLS the forms shown in the donation page. Puts all the information correct. Hits the donate now button. It says "please wait". Nothing happens. The payment is not successful
On the other side, if a person enters each form field MANUALLY, and information is right. Hits the donate now button, and it works.
The Problem is most people have saved cards, saved name, address etc.
    Please solve this problem.
You can try it, the problem is there.
try auto filling the donation page " Form Fields", and try donation button, it wont work.
Do it manually and it works

Hey, that is an unusual and frustrating problem. Off the top of my head, it may have something to do with caching - does your website have a caching plugin installed? That can sometimes cause weird issue. Also here is an article about how to make sure autofill works on a GiveWP form, so you may want to try this givewp.com/populate-donor-info-one-click/. In the end, you may just have to contract GIveWP - they are very helpful over there - givewp.com/contact-us/. Good luck.

Damn, Strip hookups are very confusing.

Yup, it can be cumbersome. GiveWP has come a ways in simplifying the process. Just clicking the button in the GiveWP Stipe settings that connects directly to the Stripe account makes it easier.
