Good one, thanks! It seems to start abruptly because they cut the instrumental intro by the Kami Band and also their silly entrance on stage. 🤣 "YAVA!" or "yaba" or "yabai" means "dangerous" or "awful" but here is used more like the expression "Oh, no!". It's one of my favorite songs. For some reason, the ska mixed with metal totally works for me. Although the lyrics are pretty much obscure, they sing about something that is "different" ("chigau") and also "unnacceptable". So, I believe that the song is about being, acting and, most important, being perceived as "different" in a culture where not looking and acting like everyone expects is seen as weird (in a bad way). It could be related to their own history, not being a "normal" group or band at all. They are performing at the O2 Arena in London next May 30th 2025. And I'm not going to miss it. 😁 🤘🦊
Very nice what you said about feeling the music just from watching the choreography! I totally agree, and I think that's another area where they stand out. I'm usually not a fan of choreographed dancing, because most of time, it adds nothing to the music or performance. The dancers seem to just randomly select a few moves from the official grab-bag and string them together. In BABYMETAL, however, the moves are (most of the time) tailored towards the song, support the vocals and enhance the experience. Case in point, the move that you recognized as "Oh my God" refers to the title "YAVA" or "yabai", which is just that, an uttering of surprise (both in a positive or negative sense). (By the way, this part of the choreography always makes me think of Yui, because somehow it suited her very well)
great song, and I'm glad you noticed the fun courography and expressions on their faces. i always smile at that bit . I have heard reactors/commentators saying very simple or basic courography ! i think they need to watch again and watch carefully . have you got your tickets for the O2 next May ? if you enjoyed BabyMetal at Download, you need to be at the O2 it will be awesome 😁 🤘🏼🦊🤘🏼
🍑 ⚡ 💕 / 🤔 One of my favorites off of 'Metal Resistance', the second BABYMETAL album. Even with a translation it's hard to know exactly what this song is about. As Du-Metal says on his translation page, "The meaning of the lyrics is vague, obscure & ambiguous." Even so, it's a great example of their "story telling" kind of choreography. Something about making choices when things seem similar. Or insisting that differences, even small ones, are important and make things vital and interesting. You could spend years trying to make sludgy ska metal sound good, but BABYMETAL pulled it off the first time. I would have done a whole album like that, but they moved on to the next thing. : )
Great reaction fellas! Babymetal definitely has that “key” to deliver their music to your soul. But, rather than “unlocking” your soul, Su’s vocals, Moa and Momo’s choreography, and the Kami Band’s shreds form a hard hitting Kawaii Arrow that pierces right into your soul! In my opinion, this was Babymetal’s humorous satire on the early haters who couldn’t accept them. “This is different, that is different” “OH NO!!” “What do I do?! Should I care about it?!” I been binge watching s many Babymetal videos, reactions and concert vids. Fully expected myself to “get tired” of it, as I often over do something I enjoy then get tired of it. Still hasn’t happened with Babymetal! 🤣 🤘🦊
I don't know why they cut the Kami band intro from this video. It's an important part of the song. There is a version with the intro here: th-cam.com/video/TMBcqJnCi9w/w-d-xo.html I was at Legend MM for this performance and I was absolutely popping off because Yava! is my favourite Babymetal song. I had been waiting years to see it live in person and the girls and the kamis absolutely delivered. They don't play Yava! live very often anymore; this performance was actually the first time they had played it in four years. I'm glad you mentioned the choreo for this one, because Yava! has IMO the best choreo of any Babymetal song. I can confirm that the crowd was yelling the chants. The crowd at Legend MM was loud and enthusiastic.
Good react and channel Kitsunes! One of my favorite song of our girls. Simply amazing!! My number 1 ever? Syncopation live, simply Perfect! See you! 🤟🦊🇯🇵🔥🔥🔥
You called it in this one. Babymetal puts you in a trance. It's magic. They appear on the stage and I can't take my eyes off of them. I also think you were correct when you stated that Su's voice is the heart of everything. With all the skills and talents on display it really is Su's unique voice that stops one in their tracks. FYI: the reason this video seems to just take off is in the actual performance there is a Kami Band intro. I wish this abbreviated version wasn't out there because IMO the whole thing just works so much better with the intro. Just saying.
I love Yava and I'm so glad it's come back. Tbh I prefer some older versions with the intro (feels strange without it) but this is still amazing. good reaction!
Another great reaction guys, and this is likely my favorite Babymetal Choreographed performance...so fun to watch and so energetic. I will look through your playlist and see if there is something to request! OK...I'm back! My favorite Su Metal solo song "AMORE" th-cam.com/video/35lj_XEjqYU/w-d-xo.html. The live at Wembley 2016...my fav version as well. Has a watermark, but would be needed to get it posted, I suspect. Anyways, give it a look/listen!
Against it I can't see Moa Cry.This Was the fight Koba lead in the Background.. He wanted Moa and Yui, while Amuse wanted to play a shift gane and he wanted Su out of there.
@rickwagner- I don"t think so. The problem was simply they looked at the girls from totally different Viewpoints. For Amuse they were idols, but for Koba they were more. They were human beings. What he did with and for them manipulated not only the girls but also himself. I don't think that Amuse saw him any longer as neutral while Koba saw himself as their Manager. He manipulated them for his idea. But this has implications for himself. He had to do things for them. To prove himself that he was doing this for their good. For Amuse this was no feasible Standpoint. They grew idols and they had to find Jobs for them, where they could grow. If they wanted or not. They had their concepts. On the surface they had to admit that his concept seemed to work. But his methods did not agree with them.
Well done. After being introduced to these young ladies I find myself watching any other band onstage performing their music and they are just standing there and I think........I need some choreography and personality here. I want these three beautiful young ladies interpreting the music in their unique way. Everything else is just meh.
One of my favorite songs! You should check out "Meta Taro" (Momo Taro) from Legend MM, "Onedari Daisakusen" from Live 2021, and if you haven't already, "Elevator Girl". The Japanese version of that last one has the better lyrics. Of course you really can't go wrong with anything you pick. 😏
This is honestly one of my favourite songs, and I'm so glad you also pointed out the facial expressions and choreo ❤❤
The ska feel is also amazing! :)
Good one, thanks!

It's a shame you haven't seen the Kami Band intro before the song. Look for it and see it, it's incredible.

Nice reaction! The video started abruptly because the official channel cut the Kami Band intro.
Nice reaction. I don't know how they keep all the dance moves in their head. Yava is a personal favorite of mine. Love everything about it.
Nice reaction! KAWAII SKA METAL 🦊🎸

@@ksbrst2010 What complete nonsense.
You keep stating things as facts that only exist in your head.

Guys do Dusk til Dawn Babymetal 2021 budokan, after 40 years of listening to metal this is the only song I rate as “Perfect” 🤘🏼👌
No you didn't do the one with the KAMI BAND intro 😮
pls try ไม่เลือนหาย - The Darkest Romance
这首歌在legend MM上有kami band的intro,官方版本剪掉了,但是油管上有完整视频
Well done.

agree with you. Watching other bands, including the female ones, and it's the same old routine poses used by bands for decades now 🥱
