I ride my Trek Verve 2 an average of 3 to 4 times per week for 1 to 1-1/2 hrs. on local paved roads. I also always take the bike with me when I go outdoor camping in State Parks. It handles excellent in all types of surfaces, paved roads, dirt roads and bike trails with a mix of riding surfaces. As long as I keep my riding time to 1-1/2 hrs. max, it's really comfortable. The best feature I like are the disc brakes. They work great and you feel safe riding, even in emergencies where you have to apply the brakes in a hurry. I have the grey one and it looks and rides great. Good for neighborhood riding, commuting, fitness conditioning, and cruising. I'm retired and this Trek is my favorite toy. Like sweet 360 commented below....I friggin' love it 2.
Bought mine on September 9, 2021 but fitted with 700X35C - SCHWALBE-MARATHON PLUS tyres to minimise the risk of flats/punctures. I had the stem moved into the maximum vertical position. This bike is excellent. I will say, however, that after a one hour ride, the seat does give my 'rear end' a little discomfort, but no big deal. The bike rides well. It rolls along smoothly despite no suspension. The brakes are superb. I've been through all 24 gear combinations tackling steep inclines to fast downhill slopes with the gears shifting effortlessly. Riding this bike is an absolute pleasure.
How do you feel about the Trek Verve 2 at this point ? I was thinking Schwalbe-Marathon plus wood be better too, I called Schwalbe yesterday and they said the Marathon-Plus are the best tires they have still to this day even though they have had tubeless for a long while now. I have used the Marathon Plus tires for over a decade, they have been Supreme. Is this bike much more comfortable than a cross bike with regular bent handle bars ? It would take a 10 mile ride for me to find out.
I have the gray xl model and love it . I ride 60 miles a week so I won’t complain too much but the bottom bracket (crank) developed play in it . The bike shop disassembled the crank and re-torqued the crank and it’s good to go .
@@Surfer-727 I am really satisfied with this bike. In September 2022 it had its first service. No punctures to date. I do about 70k a week. It runs smoothly. It's a pleasure to ride.
I love my Verve 2. However contrary to some of the information in this video the seat suspension is not adjustable and bluetooth capabilities come with the Verve 3, not Verve 2. Also, I do like the tires. I've experienced way too many flats as opposed to my old Trek's 7100 700 x 35c tires.
What a dumb review. This is what you get when a "non" cyclist reviews a bike. The Verve is intended to be an "urban comfort" bike. Why the hell would you want suspension front/rear??? First off, to keep the bike at this price point "the suspension" you seek would be heavy junk and Trek would have to reduce the quality of other parts to offset it i.e. cheaper drive train, wheels, tires, etc. Suspension on a city bike is nothing more than added weight and added maintenance for virtually "zero" benefit. There are plenty of things that can be done to enhance rider comfort that doesn't involve adding 3 or 4 more pounds of cheap, heavy suspension to the bike e.g. upgraded saddle, padded cycling gloves, padded riding pants/liner. Interesting your description says it has a "suspension fork" and yet you give the bike a strike in your review for not having suspension. Seems "Fit Lab" doesn't know much about the things they review LOL.
You dont need shock absorbers when riding in a very upright position with this bike.
Is that a sensor or just a blank plastic?

Front and or back tire shocks would slow you down from the weight and the absorption from the bumps.

really like my Verve 2. I shaved up to 10 minutes off my 9.5-mile commute. but I do not trust that the adjustable goose neck.
