I love how you started this like a GTA mastermind. I felt like you are about to show me the various ways of approaching a heist and the weaponry available 😆
Dude omg thank you I've been looking on all videos and none have showed me how and are very complicated and now I know how I don't know what I would do I you didn't make this video THANK YOU
I bought one of these years ago, and instructions did not explain how to get the thing working at all😂. I’m guessing the manufacturers figure that people who buy studio mics, already have experience with them.
I've been trying to find out how the output from the phantom power goes into my pc for a little while now. Thought I was going to have to purchase an individual sound card, but now I feel stupid knowing theres adapters that go straight to the audio input in my pc. Thanks for the video very helpful!
My power source is 18V, not sure why the power source is only 18v when you say you need 48v. It looks just like the one you showed. Is this the reason why my mic is not working because it is only 18v?
Hi, Thanks for this instructional video. I bought a bm800 mic, and it came with a sound cartridge that plugs into my desktop, and I've hooked up everything the way u did, but no sound from the mic. Do I need the sound card, or do I just have a bad 🎤. Thanks!!
Thank you for your video. It helped me greatly. I have a question: I have the same exact microphone you have in this video - the Excelvan only mine is a gold color. I am using a Mac Mini computer but my recording device still does not work. I did some research and discovered that I need a microphone adapter, specifically, a TRRS (Tip, Ring, Ring, Sleeve) adapter in order for it to work. Do you have a video for this particular mic adapter?
I need help. I bought a voilamart mic and I just bought a hp laptop as well. When i connect it i can hear what im saying on my headphones but when I record the computer doest catch what i say into the mic and it just gets the sound from from the laptops speakers so basically it's like if the mic isn't even connected. Do I need that box that you said was 20 dollars for this thing to actually work?
Check your settings on your recording software and make sure that you have your mic selected as the recording device. You may also have to make that mime the default recording device in the recording device panel.
Picked up a similar mic from wish nearly identical to that one. But it doesn't require a phantom power supply as its XLR cable is 3.5 mm jack at the other end and draws power from my laptop.
Hey question, If I have a laptop with only one input 3.5mm so combined mic and headset a condencer mic and a phantom power supply will I be able to use that combined port for my output from my phantom?
I feel really dumb, but the only thing on my computer that fits the 3.5mm is my headphone jack, but that doesn't pick the microphone up obviously, so when I open garage band to record anything it doesn't even show that a mic is connected to computer....what am i missing?
I have this condenser mic that requires phantom power (neewer nw-700). I also have Yamaha MG10xu usb mixer. I already configured the Internal set up from my interface. yet there is still problem, there is no sound coming from my condender mic to my mixer. My other input such as my guitar gives a sound feedback. I also tried using a regular microphone which also gave a sound feedback. What should i do? is there also a problem with my stero plug to stero jack converter? what should I do?
Hi, I have a c2 Beringher C-2-Condenser and a Yahama audiogram 3 (with phantom 48) it is not working I need another device? or do I need to run some program as for example garage band when use it? many many thanks David
i have a Neewer NW-700 and when i do my podcast my listeners say they sometimes hear distortion on their end.......like im under water with a echo. I need help figuring out how to stop that. i use a neewer nw-100 phantom power. What should I do?
Try turning down the mic gain when you are recording. Ideally you should be at 70-80% (Lower if need be) and then you can raise the volume when you edit.
Thanks Jason! You are very informative. I have two Studio Projects B3 mics, a matched pair. I haven't used them in years, (since 2005) but I think they have phantom power built in. (?) I'm planning on using them with a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 3rd Generation digitizer (I think that's the general term for them). I will only have my solo vocals while playing my non-plug-in nylon string acoustic guitar. I might sometime have an upright bass player as I sing folk music I've written. I will get a shock mount and a screen for the voice mic. With the mic to my guitar do I need a screen, and also need a shock mount for that too? What do shock mounts really do? Also if I forget and accidentally have the phantom power on with the mic source, and have it on with my Scarlett 2i2 (haven't bought it yet) would that burn something out? Thanks for your videos!
I have a question I have this same mic, bought the phantom power supply, I technically have everything. But if I connect the microphone to my surround sound it sounds perfect, but once I connect it to my computer and try to record the audio it comes out really distorted, sounds really low, and has a hiss...so now idk what to do.😪
Make sure all the connections are seated properly, make sure the power supply is on (It might have a button), Go into the recording settings > Microphone Properties > Levels and adjust it to see if that does anything. Also check the levels in the program that you are using. After that, there is a small $5ish usb sound card that you can buy that might solve it. Try those things and let me know.
@@MacAmbrais I got the levels down, but let's say I want to record audio using my phone with the condenser mic, do I use the usb soundcard or do I buy a microphone-headphone splitter? Because if not it sounds like I'm 5ft away from the mic and gives off a little static
Hey buddy! I just got a condense mic, but I cannot afford the Zoom H devise you recommend. I have a phantom power and it makes the mic to really sound great. However, when I speak, there is a little of audio delay/latency. Is there any way I can fix this? maybe installing some drivers or buying a sound card? what would you recommend? Thank you and God bless.
As simple as this is, mine still doesn't work. I have the same Nady and a MXL V63M condensor and nothing. how do you set it up in the software Ie FL STUDIO etc.

Turn down the mic gain a little, you are most likely picking up sound below the noise floor. You can boost the sound in an editing program later.
