  • Full fight unedited. Today I got on my first ever channel catfish. We started by fishing the susquehenna river and later on moved on to the Chenango river. We were using creek chubs that we caught from a local creek as bait. The action was slow but totally worth the wait. My first catfish from the chenango river came in at 8.10 pounds and just over 26". If ya'll enjoyed this one make sure to hit that thumbs up and show some love!!
    I lost my DSLR Camera the next day to the river and no longer am able to make videos. if you would like to help please check out the link below:

    Sucks the first spot you got kicked out. Than new spot , sometimes it just takes a little time . In warmer days cats rather eating in low light because of air quality in shallow hot waters 🌊. So early morning or night fishing 🎣 works best for Catfishing times at least in summer heats . Congratulations on the first of many catfish 😊👍 . Gonna have to get you some flatheads and Blues . Sucks none near you . Channels are definitely fun fights too 🙂👌 . Great video Jag .

    Hey Jag, the channel cat killa! Nice to see you fishing for a new specie, seems you’re expanding your resume. That was a beauty cat. I don’t target them very often, usually once or twice this time of year but have more success fishing during the night than daytime. Great video, let’s get some more.

      If it's the chenango river you're ok for a meal or so. Especially if you're upstream from Binghamton a ways (like port crane and upstream). I've eaten tons of fish out of the chenango throughout my years of fishing there. ANYTHING out of the Susquehanna river around here I wouldn't touch though, but the channel cats in there are decent. 7-8 lbs. Is a good average with some getting up over 15.

      If you're around the "Greater Binghamton Area" fishing again hit me up on this comment and I'll show you a few spots.

      @@michaelkolanda8712 i know a few people thatll eat out of the nango once in a while. I would too but probably towards hamilton haha

    Just remember it is illegal in NY to transport fish from one body of water to another. If you catch fish to use for cut-bait make sure you catch it in the same body of water you plan on using it...

    • @robgrubb420
      @robgrubb420 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      the way you made it sound was that you caught them in some "local creek" and not the water where you were fishing...which would be illegal here in NY.

    • @jagfishing836
      @jagfishing836  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes i know, to clarify the creek i get those in spills into the river about 2 miles up. And just to put dec mind at ease since i have camera gear with me i always record myself catching the bait in that location....and if ur buying make sure to have the receipt!
