The city was a dystopian future where they taken away basically everything that makes people and things different and did so by taking away every book ever and they were kept away by the counsel where they would select one kid to the the keeper and lone knower of all the books I think the role was called the giver and they kept that job till they go old and have to train the new giver to keep all the knowledge and eventually become the sole knower of the books? Am I crazy for remembering the general plot for this book I read in like the 9th grade?
