    You can't really judge a speaker sitting on top of the dash and not in it's Mounted Enclosure. Well maybe only the high's

    I own the infinitys. They are clear and accurate at medium to low volume. At higher volumes though they get way to bright and harsh. Imagine what you hear in this video with the treble 10x louder, that's what it's like in person at higher volumes, and that's just the radio no amp.

    • @JackCornel
      @JackCornel 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      that sounds like your radios auto eq making the highs louder since they require less power. a good rule of thumb is to not go 3/4s of your radio to protect them.

      @@Weeb32460yes. Most radios clip after 75% volume. Same applies to most sources actually.

      Sounds like your stereo doesn't have enough power so you are turning the volume into clipping. Try a good 4 channel amp and those speaks will be louder and sound better at half the volume adjustment. I have a Lexus with a Mark Levinson. I used to listen at level 30. I put one 12" woofer with a 1,200 watt rms and some orion hcca 6.5 and 4" tweeter horns. I listen at 15 and I can't even hear any of the 17 M.L. speakers so for now I have my front/back fade set 2/3 towards the front. One I up grade all the factory speakers and bypass the 1,800 watt (Not rms) and switch it out for another hcca.splx3000.H amp with 3,000 RMS watts, I can set my fade in the middle

    I've replaced all 6 speakers in my truck with all infinity reference. I Powered them off the head unit ,they were clear, decent volume but nothing too special. Until I added an infinity amplifier. Let me tell you, it was night and day! They were high at first but with the right tuning from both the head unit and the amplifier they're just amazing. Can only imagine what the kappas will do.

    Hey thanks for the video. I replaced my Infinity 3032s with these Kickers and can tell a big difference in the brightness and harshness of treble. I can hear the difference even with your cell phone video and it matches up to how I heard the Infinity's too - just way too bright for my tastes.

      @@royh77 I see that you have three wires hooked up to the Kicker speaker? Why/how is there three wires and how do you hook them up? I was going to buy those Kicker KS 3.5s but I’ve never seen a speaker that has three wires. Is it a harness that you can buy for them? If so where can I buy? Links if possible please? I just upgrade my front corner dash speakers on a dodge charger n men sounds freaking awesome. My neighbor thought that I put a sub on the charger. If you just want clear music, I recommend the infinities but if you want stupid loud, not clear, I recommend the kickers.

    In my opinion, if a stand alone setup the Infinity give you a broader stage but if using with any other stage combining with base speaker the Kicker definitely give strong mid-highs! But of course it's on the preference of the listener! Thanks and I enjoyed the video!

  • @K03sport
    @K03sport ปีที่แล้ว +1

    were the radio /hu eq settings at "0" /flat for this or did you have them adjusted as you listened to music in the vehicle? definitely recommend a bass blockers (600 or 800 Hz) for the dash speakers to help attenuate lower frequencies and take some stress off of the 3.5"woofer. are the KSC a metal or silk tweeter? of course the Kicker is a 4ohm speaker and the Infinity is a 3ohm, so the infinity will sound louder as it will "see" more power from the same source.

    The infinity is louder because its not a 4 ohm speaker. The kicker is 4 ohm and will not draw the power the infinity would on an oem system. I have used both and comparing with the same power they are not too different. Caps or bass blockers change the game as power handling and distortion both improve with these little buggers.
