Great guide but 1 thing you left out in many people’s opinion is that to fully outtake a low disposition weapon’s riven, you definitely need a Majorly non impactful negative, take for example a Rubico riven having low disposition, you can have damage, CC and then -reload etc, this can be countered by arcane momentum which you use the rubico prime for eidolons let’s say, having a negative will greatly increase a weapon’s original riven stats
I managed to get a god roll riven for the Nataruk: + crit damage, + multishot, -ammo maximum. Love getting that negative on infinite ammo/battery weapons.
I have a Twin Kohmak riven with with fire rate and multishot. While its not the best riven its really fun to just spew tons of lead into the enemy. The true best riven is the one you have most fun with.
Remember people, don't buy 1 disposition mods. They'll cost you an arm and a leg, and improve the gameplay of the weapon by a fraction too small to notice in most cases.
Very good information, even with all the caveats - that's just because they're are so many unique cases like the Javlok throw dealing damage based on magazine capacity. I find that +Impact is a direct damage multiplier for Slash Conversion Weapons that run Hemorrhage or Internal Bleeding. There is an edge case for Mutualist Cernos, actually. To date, it's one of my biggest dps increasing Rivens solely because the +Impact makes it slash that much more reliably. Its Crit Chance isn't the greatest for Hunter Munitions, but you still want Hunter Munitions because the gas clouds can't slash without it. In this instance, the increased in +Impact on an already impact heavy weapon is not just a raw damage increase, it weighs the impact status chance to get consistent powerful bleeds because you get most of your viral from the Mutualist clouds rather than the actual arrows. Viral-Munitions from the weaker clouds will bleed out weaker enemies, while Internal Bleeding will bleed out heavy units. It's one of the only weapons that would run both because of how it works, and it's one of the few weapons that needs to save that much more space with a riven. +Impact still works to a lesser extent on certain weapons aside from that one. If they ever buff puncture, a +Puncture riven will be fine too, and I imagine the same principle would apply. As a forward thinking investor, I would advise any Puncture Heavy weapons to hold onto their +Puncture rivens, just in case.
careful with this thought line, most commonly used slash convert weapons are ones that force impact regardless of their impact weight, muta cernos is one rare exception however. if you aren't already i'd recommend using unranked cold mod for it's lower viral weight
@@jazzWF That’s fair. I figure most people can spot that when I point out the +impact damage to an impact based weapon. Ken’s vid goes over that outlier as well. The most important thing, as Keengineer said, is the purpose of the riven for the build of the weapon. Also if your riven can cover some slots for your other mod then it's really a win imo Like my main melee weapon have +range and +fanction dmg that make me can easily replace reach and bane mod for something else

I've found that status duration can be of particular value on secondaries more so than other weapon classes if your playstyle makes that stat feel helpful, because the normal mods for status duration are so bad (Two mods that each give 30%, compared to 100% on rifles and 110% on melee). I don't run it on my Ferrox riven, even though that's one of the few ways to increase the status reliability on the throw (since the status chance there is unaffected by status chance mods), simply because continuous misery gives me enough and I get more value out of having different positive stats on the riven. This video spent a lot of time on stats, but I think there are a few even more important factors. Disposition is everything. 0.5 disposition means you spend thousands on a riven that is probably not noticeably better on the meta weapon you are using. 1.5 is great, but lots of weapons are so abysmal that no modding can make it competitive. The real dream is an underutilized weapon that is actually fantastic. Dakra Prime is a great example. Its a top melee weapon even without a riven, but the disposition is surprisingly favorable (1.1).

I've got such a weird riven for my vaykor marelok but I love it. It's got +slash,+crit chance, +damage to corpus, and -magazine capacity. You'd think magazine capacity on a pistol with a relatively low magazine anyway would be a bad thing, but nope. I've found simply putting primed Quickdraw on it actually results in me attacking faster with the riven on than I do with Primed Quickdraw+gunslinger combined. It's such a strange interaction but I love it. I don't get to nerd out about how weird and cool my marelok riven is very often, so I wanted to share it here and ask if anyone else has had some super wacky riven interactions with any other weapons. Rivens unlock so much weird stuff
No love for elemental rivens? Elementals are very good since most weapons need at least two of them, and since they have diminishing returns, it's a good choice over a second elemental mod. Also there is no galvanized elemental mod, which makes it a better choice than many +damage, +multishot of +crit chance rivens!
I call out element options as a useful option for combined-stat rivens. Any element on a riven can be helpful, but can also be a problem for modding. Always depends on the weapon and the intended build(s).
The best rivens are the ones that make weapons do things that they aren't really designed to do. My dread is a shotgun now! Sure, i could be boring af and roll if for cc and cd with - impact for max boring town. But I love it as a unlimited range 6 pellet shotgun with 2.5 meters of punch through.
This video is amazing and that web site saved my life. I can just pick a good mod build and just play the game. It saves so much time to do other things in the game❤❤😍❤❤ THANK YOU
I think for the best possible riven is it must have 3 positives that focused stats that works with the weapons primary build while it's negative can effect 1 of 2 thing 1 can take away from a stat that can be easily rebuilt 2 can take away a stat that's useless to the weapon like crit weapon don't have much use for status
I got a zaw riven with 200% impact and I use shattering impact with it. Currently 2 hits to completely strip acolyte armor and it’s not fully ranked yet
Me realizing that i don't need a riven to make a good build on weapon (there are exceptions) and for some reason i get almost god rolls when i'm bored, the worst part i don't use rivens
Edge case for +Impact: Hemorrhage. If a weapon is barely failing to meet the requirements to run Hemorrhage, a +Impact riven CAN be useful, but this is only on secondaries.
meme rivens are best rivens. I really love -100% multishot ones, or -100% damage ones. The former makes you shoot without projectiles at all and the latter actually completely removes damage section from weapon stat screen if equipped, since it no longer has any damage >_
this is cool and all, but how do I calculated the riven values onto the functional values, ie riven for kohm with +100% crit chance and +80 heat and I put it on the kuva kohm what stats would I get
If it's showing you the stats as it would appear on the Kohm, divide by the disposition of the Kohm and multiply by the disposition of the Kuva Kohm. You can find their dispositions on the Warframe wiki.
Direct damage is one of the best stats to have on an Eidolon hunting sniper like rubico prime or Vectis prime. Direct damage only loses value where arcanes and galvanized mods/CO take over.
I recently pulled a fulmin riven with tox, damage, -ammo max(you know, that thing the fulmin doesn't have). It's a great roll with only 1 problem... that ammo max affects my secondary ammo. Not a problem really 20% is nothing for most weapons and nothing on the fulmin itself.
Try rerolling until you get reload speed. It's a huge difference. Mine has reload, damage, and projectile speed. The shotgun mode can hit stuff across the map.
try and rolling a "godroll" utility riven, for example +mag size, +reload speed, +fire rate any- for an already good weapon, some guns fell so fucking good with this type of utility.
Hi... I'm kinda a vet player (2015-2019) i stopped playing around Dec 2019 and started playing again this month , i know how riven work and it's mission but i kinda forgot how to get a veiled riven also.... What's riven sliver how do you get it? And what to do about it to make it into an riven mod
Been looking for a utility riven for the azima for my saryn for 2 years now. Finding a +Magazine/+Multishot/+Punch/-Fire Rate has been impossible. It's wild how many people give me crap for specifically looking for that roll. 😕 I wanna spread spores while eating pizza rolls don't judge me.
I have a Guandao riven with AS/CD/RANGE and negative chance for combo. People say the the beg is bad but in my own use it's barely noticeable while stacking and completely a nonissue when at 12x
@@ToniFalck it's only-50% and in my testing and usage it's only takes a few more seconds to hit max combo than without and once you do, the neg literally does nothing.
Someone told me the polarity and MR effect the possible rolls on a riven, is that true? Like, for example, they said a Madurai polarity of atleast MR 10 is worth going for, and that my Vazarin polarity with MR 8 is useless. I kinda wanna believe it, because I'm nearly 300 rolls in, and no god roll.
This is a question that is often asked and rarely gets a solid answer: "Do rivens get higher stats when the mastery rank requirement of a riven is higher?" or it does not have to do with stats at all and it is only a mastery requirement?
Last I check the MR on rivens has no effect on stat rolls, each stat has a RNG range it can roll IE crit chance 45-55% status chance 65-75% etc, which changes based on if its 2 or 3 stats and negative stat or no negative stat, which then finally gets increased or decreased based on disposition.
I've got a Riven that at base has +5.6% reload speed, +9.7% critical damage and +16.1% critical chance (re-rolled 3 times), and it goes on my vasto prime...I just don't know what to do with it
I had a "fuck the Corpus" Gaze Riven for my first ever roll. It was status, toxin damage, and Corpus damage. I asked a friend if it was good and his response was "No. Give it to me."
The Market Though This is all good to know but the problem is convincing the Market of these things as well I can have an excellent Riven but no one wants to buy because everyone still thinks anything that's not Dam/MS is garbage....
Hi ken! Can u make a video about the galvanized status mods? Like galv aptitude. Its bugged right now and on some weapons it does multiplicative damage. I wouldd really love to know if just stacking base damage mods like serration is better than crit or bane mods

The video was fantastic but I think you severely undersold the uses of getting an element or firerate. Typically you want a firerate mod and 99% of the time you also want at least one elemental mod. A riven can completely replace that mod to help make the desired combination while ALSO adding a good chunk of damage through crits, damage, faction, or multishot on top of doing what the replaced mod would have already. As im sure you know this I simply wanted to state that the importance of this cannot be ignored and your video largely failed to address it. It doesn't detract from the rest of the advice however.
well they dont NEED it since crit laetum is more versatile and fun fact acolytes are immune to the 2000% perk felarx and phenmor want them for consistancy tho since the puncture changes my felarx has been slightly less consistant with 1 shots tho it is not that big

Always depends on the weapon and the intended build(s).
o shit, a new video, love your stuff!
Funny I've been asking around on reddit what makes a good riven since I'm still new to it and then you upload this.
This video is amazing and that web site saved my life. I can just pick a good mod build and just play the game. It saves so much time to do other things in the game❤❤😍❤❤ THANK YOU
Vectis and Grakata are 2 oddball.
Multi shot always makes me say "that's 65 percent more bullet per bullet" cause I'm old and boring.
More bullet per bullet is good bullet
I think for the best possible riven is it must have 3 positives that focused stats that works with the weapons primary build while it's negative can effect 1 of 2 thing
1 can take away from a stat that can be easily rebuilt
2 can take away a stat that's useless to the weapon like crit weapon don't have much use for status
Don't forget about negative multishot. It's great for "meme rivens"
I have a lot of rivens (over 60) from which only one is my fav, a glaive riven with cc, cd and -attack sperd. That shit is insanely good
I searched for a league riven guide and got this instead
no regrets
hell yeah another kengineer video
Your videos are so great. Thank you for awesome content.
I got a zaw riven with 200% impact and I use shattering impact with it. Currently 2 hits to completely strip acolyte armor and it’s not fully ranked yet
I like this video of slow projectile Riven, because is literally a spectacle of bullets in slow motion and fill a camp XD
Luck/Plat and lots of red chili.
Me realizing that i don't need a riven to make a good build on weapon (there are exceptions) and for some reason i get almost god rolls when i'm bored, the worst part i don't use rivens
The only reason i find understandable to don't use those rivens are just because i don't use those weapons
I got a huge combo duration increase for my vastilok that I use on baruuk
Edge case for +Impact: Hemorrhage. If a weapon is barely failing to meet the requirements to run Hemorrhage, a +Impact riven CAN be useful, but this is only on secondaries.
They made some changes to cold and puncture and apparently puncture is now a decent choice on crit weapons
Neither puncture nor slash damage mods will ever be good, though I think if you've got 3 pluses with one of them being puncture it will be serviceable
My personal favorite kind of riven is meme ones. Like increased fire rate on my prisma grakata
meme rivens are best rivens.
I really love -100% multishot ones, or -100% damage ones.
The former makes you shoot without projectiles at all and the latter actually completely removes damage section from weapon stat screen if equipped, since it no longer has any damage >_
of minus fire rate on certain weapons
So did you rename your weapon Mo Dakka?
You forgot the fifth way to use a Riven: Memes. Zita Wup is very good at this.
Basically a riven with good synergy, and RELATIVELY good stats. There is no definite answer.
this is cool and all, but how do I calculated the riven values onto the functional values, ie riven for kohm with +100% crit chance and +80 heat and I put it on the kuva kohm what stats would I get
If it's showing you the stats as it would appear on the Kohm, divide by the disposition of the Kohm and multiply by the disposition of the Kuva Kohm. You can find their dispositions on the Warframe wiki.
Direct damage is one of the best stats to have on an Eidolon hunting sniper like rubico prime or Vectis prime. Direct damage only loses value where arcanes and galvanized mods/CO take over.
Faction damage negative is a harmless one for stat stick rivens.
Ah reminds me of the days when I played with my soma prime and its riven, poor soma prime how the game has changed.
Grineer dmg on rivens is one of the best stats bcz of most people go vs grineer missions at high level missions
I have a God Roll Serro riven, +CC +CD +DMG and -CC on slide.
Only 1 roll.
I think that would count as a good riven.
my firerate and reload riven on my twin vipers is one of the most op mods in the game
try and rolling a "godroll" utility riven, for example +mag size, +reload speed, +fire rate any- for an already good weapon, some guns fell so fucking good with this type of utility.
please post videos only how to play solo disruption like you did in this
Negative is bad, how bad depends how high % is the chance not to gain combo
It slows up the ramp up to full combo or worst case prevents.
@@ToniFalck it's only-50% and in my testing and usage it's only takes a few more seconds to hit max combo than without and once you do, the neg literally does nothing.
Got lucky getting +ammo, dmg, multi and -zoom on akarius riven
Can there be negative magazine capacity on a Vectis riven?
Yes and its sought after for Primed Chamber builds
weapons have trade-offs. A good riven counteracts those negative aspects of the trade-offs, so it depends on the weapon. At least that is my strategy.
Pure trashtalk
im interested in buying a bad riven with 0 re-rolls for cheap for my main weapon and the re-roll it until i get a good one. is that worth it?
This is a question that is often asked and rarely gets a solid answer: "Do rivens get higher stats when the mastery rank requirement of a riven is higher?" or it does not have to do with stats at all and it is only a mastery requirement?
Last I check the MR on rivens has no effect on stat rolls, each stat has a RNG range it can roll IE crit chance 45-55% status chance 65-75% etc, which changes based on if its 2 or 3 stats and negative stat or no negative stat, which then finally gets increased or decreased based on disposition.
mr does not effect riven stats only the dispo effects it
tho the dispo is kinda weird
I've got a Riven that at base has +5.6% reload speed, +9.7% critical damage and +16.1% critical chance (re-rolled 3 times), and it goes on my vasto prime...I just don't know what to do with it
Anyone totally know ALL OF THIS…but still watches these videos just incase?
I have this one ogris riven with status chance, damage and electricity is that good?
I had a "fuck the Corpus" Gaze Riven for my first ever roll. It was status, toxin damage, and Corpus damage. I asked a friend if it was good and his response was "No. Give it to me."
I'm just too lazy to find a good riven lol
The Market Though
This is all good to know
but the problem is convincing the Market of these things as well
I can have an excellent Riven but no one wants to buy because everyone still thinks anything that's not Dam/MS is garbage....
Hi ken! Can u make a video about the galvanized status mods? Like galv aptitude. Its bugged right now and on some weapons it does multiplicative damage. I wouldd really love to know if just stacking base damage mods like serration is better than crit or bane mods
he did a video on all galvanized mods when they game out
Hi, I am aware of the issues others have highlighted with these mods and such a video is in my list of topics I may cover. No guarantees though.
Kachow!
What is a primer? Is it a prime version of the weapon?
A primer is a comunity term used to refere to a weapon that only exists to proc a lot of status as fast as possible so mods like Condition overload or the galvanised status mods give a higher damage bonus
Just got a cedo riven with cold, toxin, multi shot -status duration. Any good?
it would be good for a hunter munitions cedo tho the negitive COULD hurt u key word COULD since u freed up 2 mod slots u could fit status duration to off set it a bit
Concerning status chance and therefore its damage.... is reaching 100% enough?
depends on the weapon its on
a bit off topic but i have a question...
where has seeker volley been moved?
i farmed earth pretty well, then after 20 hours ,decided to scan the ships to see what i could get, because i wasnt getting what i wanted.
only to find that the kosma ships dont drop seeker volley.
scanning ships in my arkwing is kinda stupid.how come you guys didnt bitch to de about that?
now im a johnny come latley and ...all the info is wrong.
as for rivens...i roll them until they do something i want them to do.sometimes a riven that i might consider not gud, turns out to be very very gud.
i try them out.
for example i thought that negative travel speed on my cedo riven was bad.and i tried to compensate by upping my time with a mod.while building it out with forma.i had to remove that travel speed mod.when i put it back i noticed that my disc was actually doing less dmg.because it was going too fast.
and it only cost me 250 p.
if i have 2 dmg modifiers on and a negative,im happy.
would i like crit crit dmg or a element on my bubonico riven? tea i guess but 30 rolls in and im not getting it.gonna have to settle,on two dmg modifiers and a negative.
cheers
if someone knows bout the seeker volley thing.send me a mess plz.
Dang, what was that rubico build??
didnt talk about status duration on rivens, literally shaking and crying rn
well yeah status duration doesnt do that much besides for experdite builds
At 9:00 how is he using both the epitaph and the Glaive Prime??? I've never seen that before
Glaives allow one handed secondaries to be used alongside them as an innate feature.
@@TheKengineer Really? I'm getting the euphona prime soon, is that a 1 handed secondary? I would love to use the Falcor and Euphona together
@@LtKernel7 It is a one handed secondary, yes
The video was fantastic but I think you severely undersold the uses of getting an element or firerate. Typically you want a firerate mod and 99% of the time you also want at least one elemental mod. A riven can completely replace that mod to help make the desired combination while ALSO adding a good chunk of damage through crits, damage, faction, or multishot on top of doing what the replaced mod would have already. As im sure you know this I simply wanted to state that the importance of this cannot be ignored and your video largely failed to address it. It doesn't detract from the rest of the advice however.
Enjoying it.
What makes a riven good, is exactly the type of build you are going for.
I have one locked, dont even know what it does 😅😓😢
Beats me idk how to get Rivens
That's easy. If it increases your kps, it's good. If it doesn't, reroll that shit.
Rivens "quality" is situational and depends entirely on the Weapon. I mean, Inkarnon Primary rivens need Negative Crit Chance.....
well they dont NEED it since crit laetum is more versatile and fun fact acolytes are immune to the 2000% perk
felarx and phenmor want them for consistancy tho since the puncture changes my felarx has been slightly less consistant with 1 shots tho it is not that big
@@noahedenborg4221 nice necroposting bozo, however I don't remember asking.
Also I can one-shot an Archon with a Anti-Crit Felarx. Your opinion is invalid, and will not be noted.
@@TheDoomsdayzoner the fuck even is necroposting
yeah so can i whats your point in saying that
@@TheDoomsdayzonerI hope everyone you know are as boring as you
Meanwhile im using a stupid riven on my sarofang, combo chance, combo duration, initial combo lmaooo odd weapon means odd riven
Used this video to see if i wanted +286% crit chance and +150% multishot or +150 fire and +125 toxin.
Got the cit and multi only to find out my MR 9 ass has to wait till im 16 to use it. Sometimes this game infuriates me.
Why would you need fart riven when you can get all the stats you usually want (unless it's a stug with no crits)
I don’t wanna sound like I’m promoting but you price check my atterax riv for me in my latest, no on ps5/4 knows
I always thought -zoom was harmless but one time i rolled it on a pretty good riven otherwise, and I hated it. Don't remember what weapon it was now, but I remember it threw off the whole feel of it and made the weapon feel awful. So I re-rolled and now if I get -zoom I refuse to keep it.
Notification squad, sound off
The only good riven is a dead riven.
