    Why compare the speed of a 150cc to 300cc?

      I upgraded from the 150 to the 300 after deciding i wanted a little more power so i made this comparison for anyone trying to decide between the two class sizes with limited experience or knowledge.

    Nice. One of the reasons I went with the SMAX over the ADV was because I saw a drag race between them and the SMAX smoked it :D

      Yeah the ADV has it perks and charm outside of speed though. At the end of the day I realized I wanted one bike that do a little of everything. So many trade offs to consider when selecting one!

      @@motohound90 That's for sure. And failure to launch is very real. I'm super happy with my ride, stoked to have it.

      While I simply enjoy riding scooters and realized long ago that racing on public roads is for people who are immature, insecure, and dangerous (not badass), why not just get a motorcycle if one of your reasons for getting one is because it won a drag race? 🤦🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

    Thanks, how much horse power and torque does this little beast have?

      14.5 hp. Basically a PCX with way better shocks and looks way better in my opinion

      @@motohound90 that's a little for a 300 isn't it? I have a crf 300L with 286cc and it's claiming 27hp and 19tq. I've hit 80mph on freeway but don't like keeping it there for long, usually 70mph with high 60s to mid 70s in mpg. Im heavy at 215lbs

      @@damacknificent151 ah I thought you were referencing the adv150. The xmax has 27.6 HP and weighs just under 400 pounds. I has absolutely no problem holding 80mph and feels great at that speed. Averaged 76 mpg at 225 pounds.

    Thanks for this review! I have been having a hard time finding good comparison reviews of the Honda ADV/ Honda PCX vs the Yamaha Xmax 300. This will be my first bike or scooter of any kind so I am torn myself between the two class sizes. My bf wants me to go smaller at first as a new rider, but I worry I would outgrow it quickly- plus I would feel limited in my ability to safely commute on the highway with 150 cc's once I gain experience riding. I also love the additional storage space of the Xmax as well. But I also know my height and how I feel sitting on them will play a factor as well.

      If youre planning on highway travel def go with the xmax. Having additional passing power is safer too.

    Not a fair Comparison 🤔 A 300cc against 150cc, you do realize the Yamaha has twice the cc’s of the Honda🤔😯👎

      I was trying to decide btwn a 150cc and 300cc scooter when I was making my first purchase. I went with a 150cc and then ended up trading it in at a loss to get a 300cc. Thought it may be helpful to showcase the performance difference between the two classes.

      You should have known the top speed of each from spec. sheet way before your decision of purchase. Can't blame the 150c.c. but your own negligence.

    • @motohound90
      @motohound90  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@darcychu9652 spec sheet doesnt show clear rate of acceleration nor does it show you how easily it holds the indicated top speed. Not to mention I have knowledge of many spec sheets that are far off from real world figures. People are overthinking this comparison. Its just a visual aid to showcase the performance difference between two great units from both popular class sizes.

      @@motohound90 right on. Not only does spec sheet top speed not tell the whole story neither does 0-60 acceleration specs due to motors acting differently within the powerband. Thanks for the video, hoping to get an XMAX 300 soon.
