  • April 2018 fishing trip with Montebello Island Safaris in the Pilbara region in the north west of Western Australia. We were fishing in around 2m of water using surface lures. Fishing gear consisted of a Shimano Stella SW 4000XG with PE1.7 braid on a Yamaga Blanks Blue Sniper 70/2 rod. The lure is a 130mm floating Daiwa Saltiga Dorado Pencil.

Just subbed luv the vids. I’m heading up to Exmouth in November and wondering if I should get a charter or hire a boat. What would you choose?

Sorry - I don't often login to my TH-cam account. It's probably too late for you but I reckon getting a charter is the way to go unless you already have a pocket full of spots. Unless you like trolling (the spots are pretty obvious), you can spend hours just prospecting. I recommend going for the full guided setups rather than the bottom bouncing charters.

Hey mate I'm heading there in a couple of months on the same charter, was this far from the house boat?

Hey Merdel. Sorry for the late reply!
This video was taken about 1km away from where the houseboat is moored. By now I'm sure you've fished this exact spot and cleaned up!
