I watched your entire video with the pleasure of remembering that the first rod my dad put into my hands was a fly rod. I grew up in Montgomery Co. and fished in many holes in the San Jacinto River, now Lake Conroe. I enjoyed my sailing hobby many years on Somerville, but moved to Conroe as the Marina on Somerville degraded into disrepair. Let me know if you want move around in some open water with the wind at your command.
you mad me laugh when you said "bye, thanks for coming" those were some beautiful brim. i caught a couple good sized bass this evening in a small pond withing walking distance of my house.
Gartside Gurgler is a top water fly. Type it into search it is very easy to tie. I've caught all kinds of fish on it from Large & Smallmouth, to sunnies and walleye and Chanelcat.
I Googled gartside gurgler up and it seems the froggy fly is nearly the same fly or at least it's constructed about the same. Thanks! I know there really are no NEW flys as everything has been tied before by someone somewhere.
I've tried many different flys over the last 20 years or so but it's hard to keep track of what their names are. Mostly now days I stick to top water flys for bass since thats what I fish for most.
