    Brighton this was a fabulous video! I so enjoyed it - thank yiu very much. I think next time I come to Mex I should go to PV for a wk. I loved the estate agent Poncho as well. So straight forward and candid. I pers like the mountain terrain of PV and the more established older neighborhoods. The elevator scene made me howl BTW 🤣 Hope you guys are enjoying your evening 😊 ✌️

    A wonderful video showing different areas of PV! That home with 6 bedrooms and 11 bathrooms, the first thing I thought was how many people does it take to clean it, lol. It was a beautiful home with fantastic views, wow.

      It probably has an entire crew of cleaners - and a pool guy, elevator repair guy, gardener, etc.

    what a terrific tour of PV... How would you compare to your area? Do you and Kat both prefer the dry climate over this very humid area?

    • @AlmostRetiredinMexico
      @AlmostRetiredinMexico  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      We both prefer the dry weather, but also prefer the green plants of PV.
      La Paz is a lot slower paced and less expensive. And easier to drive to from Oregon…

    Hi there, Brighton and Kat. Thank you very much for this video! This is really an awesomely put together show of both Puerto Vallarta, as well as what it could be like in several of the town neighborhoods. It gives a great perspective of what other stores, shops, and restaurants would be in your particular neighborhood; and how it falls relative to ocean access.
    Thank you, also, to Poncho! It would be really awesome to have a realtor such as he if going through the process of looking for a place to buy or rent.
    I guess out of all the clips, I liked the 4.something million dollar place for sale! I guess it is ok to dream; that is free!
    Safe travels!

      Thank you! And you need to think about the money you could save. The $200,000 house might cost $400,000 in the US. But the $4.8M one would cost $40-50M. So you can save $200,000 or you can save $40M!
      Clearly the higher priced house is a better deal, so you should buy that :-)

    • @campingalan

      @@AlmostRetiredinMexico this is WAY better than going to Macy's as you have to spend $500 to save $150 on "the sale". I would be proud to come home and say "honey...I saved us $35 million today"!

      TAR airlines has a non-stop flight 3-4 times per week. There's a ferry from Mazatlan if you're adventurous and have lots of extra time ;-) I haven't done that yet.

    Great video. I have a question for you we and the wife are heading to are rental in 3 weeks can we bring stuff like are Ninja foodie and a few other stuff will I have to pay import tax on them? Thank you for your great videos and great advice.

    • @AlmostRetiredinMexico
      @AlmostRetiredinMexico  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You are supposed to declare everything and pay taxes. If you're driving, then you *could* just put it in an older box (they are more curious about brand new things that you could sell in Mexico) and drive across the border. If flying, you *could* not declare anything, but you risk pushing the button and getting the red light and then having them search your bags. A Ninja Foodie might be a bit big to just slip through the border.

      @@mikeboyd2204 I've only driven in once but our car was filled with all of our stuff. They looked at our printed inventory list (in spanish) and didn't even make us unpack our car. I think it helped that we were among the first cars of the morning. Whole thing took less than 20 min. Good luck!!

    All cool BUT (if you remember green acres) Za Za may have adored a penthouse view... We like open spaces, room to "swing" a cat between buildings. A water view is always preferred and no crowds please. ( No cats were harmed in this message). But none the less another good vid by the Wests.👍👍 P n D

    Prices in US dollars is hard for us Canadians. The Canadian dollar is weak against the US 💵

    • @AlmostRetiredinMexico
      @AlmostRetiredinMexico  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's hard because the CAD, USD and Peso are all moving independently. So I just use 20Pesos per USD for conversion and that's been the average for a number of years.

    I heard that people can't buy property near the Mx ocean unless they are legal Mx immigrants, otherwise it can be sold to them and also confiscated from them. I'm confused as to why gringos call themselves expats when all other races are called immigrants. Also all summer I've been watching travel videos from specifically Greece, Turkey, Pakistan, Eastern European countries and India, and I notice that Mexico wears a mask in stores and OUTDOORS in the sweating heat! It's very rare to see masks this summer in free countries. People in the other countries overall are seeimg through the WHO media propaganda and just arent having it. I saw the Bulgaria oceanside packed and no masks and NO problems. I saw 2 anemic zombie looking tourists masked in a Bulgarian museum ticket booth, and only 1 in a million people elsewhere are masked. I have taken Mx off my list as I don't want to suffocate myself, especially not in extreme heat. What's up with Mexican people?

    • @AlmostRetiredinMexico
      @AlmostRetiredinMexico  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Foreigners just need a bank trust to buy property near the ocean. And Mexicans are very compliant people when it comes to simple rules like wearing masks. I've not seen anyone suffocate yet! They are also mostly poor people who cannot afford to get sick. Maybe Mexico isn't the place for you - there are many other countries out there.
