I'm watching this in bed, relaxing on a Saturday night, and drinking camomile tea because I have period cramps. This brings back so much nostalgia, I was born in 2005 and my dad had this game I would play it every night
my favorite thing about this game is its so adventurous you start out in a big battlefield full of sentient bombs with a king. to going inside a clock world. in a big desert temple where there is two big living hands who will challenge you to a fight. and a magical sky place where you ride upon the rainbows.
I know its weird but I like to listen to gameplay at work with no commentary. There is just enough stimulation to keep my brain happy without getting distracted by it.
I remember playing this game way back in 1996. I always liked exploring all around the castle. I was always scared of Big Boo for some odd reason, but you made Big Boo's Haunt look so easy.
2:33:20-2:48:40 is extremely soothing to the proverbial nostalgia organ. (esp. the unhurried 100-coin run (er, swim) at 2:36:58-2:44:41 pure nostalgia heaven *chef's kiss*)
I only ever played Super Mario 64 a handful of times at my cousin's house, but it's still so relaxing and nostalgic to put a playthrough of it on in the background!
Mario 64 is a classic. a classic I sucked at! Don't know what happened to my N64, but if they come out with an N64 classic I'll be sure and pick one up and give the game another shot. It was a great game I just wasn't very good.
My N64 got stolen at my church.. By some red haired kid and NOBODY would let my brothers chase after the kid and get it i always look back to it ANYTIME im shopp for a N64
I was about 6 years old. My aunt (God rest her soul) gave me her old N64. I would play this game all the time! Now I pretty much just emulate N64 games. But man, I always think of her.
We never had a n64 at my house, but I think my brother had a port of this game on his pc and I used to watch him play occasionally so this weirdly brings back some nostalgia
@@Garfieldfan032 This makes me think about the first time I saw emulation was in like 2000 and my older cousin had Donkey Kong Country playing on ZSNES without sound and lots of graphical glitches using keyboard controls and I thought it was magical.
Sorry to answer so late. This was made using a now ancient version of the BizHawk emulator. My rig was so underpowered at the time I played it in 240p native resolution and hacked the movie file to be in 720p. It doesn't allow for that now but I was lucky it worked out for this playthrough.
So I have a couple questions. In general, is Mario _actually_ strong enough to swing and throw Bowser like that? I know it's just a cartoon and physical logic wouldn't apply so much, but it seems odd to me that a small guy like Mario is generally able to spin and toss a large, heavy beast like Bowser. As for my second question, if there are two Lakitu Bros/cameramen, why does it seem like there's only one? I don't think we ever see the two of them at the same time, which is odd because scenes that show one at a time makes it look like they are indeed the same person. Just like how if you only see one twin at a time and not at the same time, you would think it's the same person.
Christopher The Gamer Official true, but that was an early nineties 2d snes game. I’m talking more about the newer, 3D games of Mario, since that’s how the universe within the series generally is (so like the 3d Mario party or sports games, super Mario Galaxy, super Mario odyssey, as opposed to paper Mario, super princess peach, or the Mario and Luigi series). Does that make sense? By the way, while i have you here, do you think the water by peach’s castle is technically a beach. It’s got sand and water, but I think it’s size is more of a pond than lake or ocean

one of the things i hated about this game was that it forced you to exit the level after each star. i know sometimes you need to in order to trigger the next stars obstacle, but like i wanted to collect multiple stars on just one runthrough and i cant!
My older brother and sister would play this game for hours back in 1997. I would watch them play because I never learned how to play video games because I was only 7 crazy that I still remember my mom ordered this game for us from UPS plus other Nintendo 64 games. This game made a lot of sense because it has something to do with news broadcasting and documentary about finding stolen power stars just like on TV.
