Wait, still trying to wrap my head around the mathematics of the curvature map. Shouldn't principal min and principal max be perfect inverses of each other? Also when it says "max" and "min", they're talking about curvature as the inverse of the radius of curvature ie a low radius means high curvature and vice versa?
So the Principal Min will show highlights on the areas with the least amount of curvature and Principal Max will show highlights(red) on the areas with the most amount of curvature. Least and most are relative terms though. When we say Max or Most amount of curvature that is really the quickest change or tightest radius. So a 10mm radius is higher than a 100mm radius on the Principal Max. So in a principal max if you set the value limit at 10mm anything below (or equal to) that will be highlighted in red. In Principal Minimum if you set the minimum limit at say 2500mm, anything above that limit will be red. So it is sort of the reverse but its not exactly unfortunately. Meaning if i take the same design and set the max limit at 10, then go to Principal Min and set the upper limit at say 11, I am not just seeing a flip of colors.
On a PC its is the shortcut key CTRL+4. CTRL+6 will bring them back. This is just a shortcut for the display settings shaded and shaded with visible edges. You can find that at the bottom center of Fusion. The small monitor icon called "Display Settings" then navigate to Visual Styles.
