Argentina has not forgotten him, this son of the city, leading conductor and pianist, and indefatigable campaigner for international understanding through the spirit of music. On the night of 19 August 2000, they came en masse, like pilgrims, to the time-honoured Teatro Colón just to listen to him.
At last their adored idol steps on to the stage - to perform again in his native city half a century after his first public appearance. The multitude rises and sings for him. Three hours and thirteen encores later, he can find no other way of disengaging himself from the ecstatic throng than to point out that the Teatro Colón must close its doors at midnight. One last piece, and then he goes - ending what has surely been one of the most memorable evenings in the Argentinian capital's concert history. - เพลง

If Barenboim played the 32 Beethoven sonatas from memory, it would be magnificent. But he also plays all of Mozarts Sonatas from memory too, and then much more. I am in awe of this God who lives among us !!! Hopefully, some century I will be reborn with a fraction of this mans abilities. That would truly be magnificent.
My dad has Barenboim playing this on vinyl… the Barenboim interpretation is the only version I can imagine being accurate to the master…Beethoven!!… superb!

This giant of a man performed the whole Beethoven cycle (Wigmore Hall, London) in his early twenties,
likewise the Mozart cycle and the 48. His memory is a remarkable skill, genius.

Speaking of genius Barenboim, I fell in love w/ this piece when I saw a YT video of him playing it in his 20’s. I’ve also watched him direct in 4 different languages, fluently. Born in 1942 makes him 78 today. Continued good health, Maestro.
Beethoven is impressive music, it empoweres me just by listening. Thank you also Mr Barenboim that in the AnimationSeries "Max und Maestro" you played Beethoven's Appassionata so that children and young people learn about this PianoSonata.

I just had a dream where I walked into a room that had a casket with the mummified remains of my great-great grandma (who I’ve never met, and who was not mummified). It had a whole lot of pictures, and items, and other little reminders of her life. This beginning of this song played when I entered the room, and I’m shaken up enough that I’m actually considering learning this piece.
Now isn't this a tour de force.....Mr. Barenboim, you are without equal.

A los 6 años mi padre compró un Winco y con él, 3 sonatas de Beethoven. A mis 67 años sigo admirando al compositor de Bonn y espero algún día poder conocer al excelente concertista Daniel Barenboim. Soy argentino y a pesar de nuestras tragedias anticulturales de gobiernos populistas, me siento orgulloso de los concertistas y artistas de nuestro país. Felicitaciones maestro Barenboim.

Ese fortisimo prestisimo cuando va terminando el tercer movimiento me causó escalofríos, pude dejar de pensar en lo q me atormentaba por un instante efimero, una cantidad finita de notas pero una pasión inmortal, Beethoven no morirá ni aun cuándo el último piano del mundo haya muerto..
Su alma seguirá viajando a través de cada suspiro que provenga de un piano donde se haya tocado una obra de su autoría

Incredible but this performance was almost 20 years ago. There was a YT video of him &I this piece probably 50 yrs ago. I'm looking for a more recent performance.
