The rock formation is so clean and effective, looks like something you would fine walking by the edge of a pier. The fish really bring this tank together with their activity. They look like they're enjoying their new home. Awesome job.
Love the aesthetic, however wondered if there were too many fish in the tank? I couldn't see any natural behaviour just fish trying to find a way out . I found the peaceful nature if the physical design and the fish behaviour jarring. Sorry this is a genuine question I am not a Cichlid keeper so am not an expert in what would be natural behaviour!
David Allen fish are thriving, healthy, no tattered find from excessive aggression, spawning, showing excellent color, very well fed a wide diet, etc etc. These are all tank raised fish, highly domesticated... no different than not providing a natural wolf habitat for your German Shepherd. It’s also normal to stock this fish more heavily... this is on the spare side, honestly. This is a massive volume of water compared to the average home hobbyist aquarium. No fish is trying to find a way out here, not any more than in any tank, I see predominantly normal cichlid aquarium behavior throughout, and have kept this fish over 30 years.
