- Nik Airball. A super high stakes poker player, well known for being loud and proud and a guy who very much so encourages fast and fun play, was just caught in his own hypocrisy by tanking for about 24 minutes in a SINGLE hand.
This should be illegal. Especially considering he did not hesitate to call out Mariano, the well known poker vlogger, just a few weeks ago for tanking for only about 3 minutes in comparison.

Could you imagine the swings Airball would go through if he tried to be a Wall Street Bets-esqe options trader. If he's good with lighting all of this money on fire in poker, you have to imagine that he'd at least get somethings right in the options market.

The fact that airball calls the clock on people tanking for 3 mins and taking 20+ mins to make a decision that’s means nothing to him is disgusting. He shouldn’t be able to call clock on anyone anymore in future live streams

I think he's entertaining to watch but he can definitely be a bit of an ass sometimes, but he's genuine and honest about his thoughts/feelings which is rare to see regardless of whether or not you agree with the opinions.. I love that. I just hope now he knows what other people might go through in other spots and keeps it in mind.

Not that it justifies this absurd tank, but to be fair to him the money probably isn’t meaningless, and especially if he’s lost a lot of his net worth. He’s been a lot nittier than he used to be when he first showed up

The biggest giveaway for me was “just so I know, would this be the biggest pot ever on this stream?” Idk, I wouldn’t ask that if I wanted a fold. But these guys are pros and there is levels.

If you're a rec you should have been calling the clock, and if you're a pro you also should have been calling the clock because you're limiting the amount of hands you get in with the other fish at the table and he was making the game less fun for those other fish.

Sat next to Nik at the Aria twice during some 5/10 games.
The smell coming from him was something like I’ve never smelt before. Almost as if he had never showered or wiped his ass.
The first time i let it slide but the 2nd time i had to call the floor over.
Nothing they could do as it wasnt in any of their by-laws to wear deodorant or wash your ass before sitting at the felt.
Needless to say i just played one orbit and decided to play at the Bellagio instead!

Tanking K's pre flop vs 42 on the river are definitely different situations, pre flop you don't need to evaluate each round and the board. But this was long but no one called the clock so who are we to judge.

The casino I was playing at didn't allow you to call the clock in a cash game and it caused the whole table to be up in arms when a player was still tanking after being put all-in 10 mins ago. The only reason the casino called the clock after 15 mins was when all the players including me had threatened to break up the game.

Talking about hand strength in a multi-way pot is absolutely not allowed!!! Imagine if Tesla was bluffing and he's listening to Airball say he has the straight, so then Tesla tries to say things to make Airball fold and Airball ends up calling. That would obviously be unfair to the 3rd player who now chops the pot instead of winning it if Airball folds. Total amateur hour at most card rooms including all the Texas ones

A whale is a whale and you have to let him enjoy himself. There’s another hand I remember previously which had almost the similar situation and he tanks for ridiculously long time. If I remembered it correctly, it was the same day when he complaint about Mariano tanking for 3 minutes.
I remember tuning in right as he started in the tank, then when everyone started standing up, I turned it off.

I would rather have one player tanking once for 25 min than every hand. He always plays fast. He actually made good fold which is quite impressive. You act like you have gotcha you moment, for tanking once. I bet many pros used a lot of time on some decisions(let's say 3 times 10 min decision) and they play much slower than airball. I am just trying to be real. I am not fan of airball he can be so obnoxious sometimes, just keeping it real. I would play against him rather than bots like Ike Haxton and that type of player.

The ridiculous part was that no one called the clock on him. I'm sorry but this wasn't even a close decision and even if it was I'd be calling the clock no matter who it is before 10 minutes.

Nik recently got stacked on a high stakes poker episode and asked to keep his chips. Yet he forced Berkey to give him those chips when Berkey lost. Just another example.

In the game where he called clock on Mariano. Mariano missed a good opportunity to call clock on Hairball later in that session. But Mariano is class where as nick is straight up ass.

This is a much better video from yourself compared to the last one I saw. I will say I don't like Airball but more players like him are needed! Yes he is very annoying but he makes brilliant watching just like Hellmuth/Matusow/Tony G etc. I guess there is no clock to call on people in this and they probably knew before signing up to play. It is a ridiculous amount of time to take, but I guess they allowed it due to the money. The fact Tesla said that same speech when he last had a monster vs Airball was a read Nik picked up on then completely ignores just because Tesla is such an agro Whale.
I think they should incorporate an inner clock for each player, similar to online, just a bit bigger - calling clock is annoying because it can affect the decision, and it just ended up to be a horrible product

I think the problem would be that Nick then could be tipped off about the other players hands by someone watching the stream. The odds are slim to none, but still wouldn’t be a good look for the stream
Like this:
10:00 (9:40 on livestream) - Nick starts to tank
10:20 (10:00 on livestream) - Nick is still tanking, but now the livestream shows the beginning of the tank (when it shows everyone's hand, i.e. he could be told what everyone else in the pot has)
@joeshab123 ahh OK that makes sense. But are the players even allowed to have their phones at the table? Or is it just so there is no chance at all someone could snipe the stream?
The stream is on a 30 min delay. No phones or electronics are allowed in the studio. So I'm not sure why there is a concern. The only way to receive info would be for someone to shout from outside.

Floor was once called on me after somebody tanked for 7 mins in Reno. The lady who called the floor said I was giving away info while not in the hand when all I said was “you either got a playable hand here or you don’t, it’s 1/3 and there’s not even an all in. Play or fold.”
The floor put a timer on the guy and told the lady I wasn’t out of line.

There should be a rule where the clock is automatically called once it is obvious to everyone that five minutes has elapsed. Then, time chips could be utilized by players making tough decisions.
There's a huge difference between his tank and Mariano's tank. You are heads up preflop with KKs. Chances of folding is slim to none. His hand has a lot of folds here.
I don't call the clock on people but I would probably leave and go grab food or go take a dump after 10 minutes.

I believe that you should set a time limit that is as long as the player needs to think about all relevant factors and come to a rational decision. Sure, you can allow another 1-2 minutes for irrelevant, emotional wavering, but that's it. You need to make a decision now. If someone is just stalling and nothing is going on in their brain anymore, that shouldn't be allowed.

Some players at the wsop make more than 1st place prize money in 19 minutes. Wsop should allow 5 minutes max. 1min "normally" 30 second shot clock with ability to use one time ext pre and post 2 on turn and up to 5min max on river regardless of time ext owned
