It will challenge traditional science fictional norms and questions the very relationship of oppression and tyranny. I will be surprised if it doesn't win the Oscar best picture prize.
If I ever become a star wars director (0.0000001% of chance) I will definitely follow this series of events with the linked music scores and produce a film like the one you described, marvelous!
Fun fact: "Mars, Bringer of War" (starting at 7:19) was used during production of the first Star Wars movie, when the music was not yet done. It was played to illustrate a couple of scenes, and Williams used it as inspiration for his score - the influences are obvious.
Sure, the influence is clear. (if STAR WARS soundtrack is not a complete "tribute to Holst" ) By the way, this version is not an original version, as we miss the entire string section. It strange to hear it without. It feels a bit empty sometimes.
I do listen to Classical music, and I do serve the Empire. Down with the Rebellion. Up with Rachmaninoff. The Mars Suite from Holst's planets was THE inspiration for the Imperial theme.
Tired of the vegetation blocking your Imperial Refinery? Introducing the all NEW 74-Z speed mower! Designed by the engineers of the Death Star, the 74-Z features a Durasteel body and manual controls. That unmatched feeling of camaraderie when you do your laundry shoulder to shoulder to your fellow trooper in a public laundromat, and he bails you out lending a couple of Imperial laundromat tokens from his own quota, because yours got stolen on Endor by a gang of ambushing Ewoks.
Bruh while I'm listening to this, I'm just imagining a stormtrooper who just had enough that he didn't care anymore. Everytime he go to battle, he's always listening to this music from his helmet, and just doesn't care for the other stormtroopers who got killed on the spot.
All of these (except for Barber) were favorites of mine when i was a kid. Thank s for the playlist and the memories. I guess I am with the Empire, after all!
Add to the list, Chopin's Nocturne Op. 48, No. 1 in C minor, Rachmaninoff's Symphony No. 2 in E minor (Largo), his Piano Concerto 2 and 3, Brahms Cello Sonata in E minor, his Piano Concerto 1 and 2, and the whole of Beethoven's 5th Symphony.
The art in Rise of the Valkyries segment reminds me of a stormtrooper on Scarif several hundred miles away from the impact radius of the Death Star blast just absolutely chilling.
In the picture where the storm trooper is fishing in Symphony N. 9 New World, the trooper's reflection has their head attached to their chest. There's a few other interesting glitches in the art if you look for them.
7:19 - 14:37 I've always had the suspicion that John Williams pulled inspiration from Gustav Holst' Planets suite, particularly Mars, for the work he did on Star Wars... those last few strikes at the end sound like the same used in the beginning suite for "A New Hope", during the attack on the Rebel Frigate.
@@HubsiCube Exactly! Especially since there is so much from that symphony to be found in Williams' score. Every time I listen to it I hear the 'duel of the fates' theme.

Mars from Holst's The Planets is the one that sounds more like Star Wars, the use of Strauss' Jr Blue Danube and Richard Strauss' Zarathustra makes me think of "2001: A Star Wars Oddysey", also the movement 3 from Dvorak's New World Symphony reminds me of Duel of the Fates. Anyway good images of stormtroopers, they're hilarious.

Exactly like Duel of the Fates was obviously inspired by Carmina Burano - O Fortuna. Even the titles have the same meaning - fortuna/fate.
also, the intro part of Mars was clearly an inspiration for James Horner's St ar Trek scores (different franchise, but i figured it was relevant).

Imagine you in a star wars universe where the empire still rules, just bought a magazine and saw this 5:00 as their advertisement for a new lawn mower

The juxtaposition between the typical portrayal of stormtroopers as faceless soldiers of fascism and these pictures of them just living life is crazy.
