I am a Brazilian woman and I have always considered the American anthem beautiful. Dan was spectacular. We are living in times of censorship of opinion and repression against those who think differently from the government. We are fighting for freedom of expression and speech. Thanks for the reaction!

Dan's version of our magnificent National Anthem which is a very difficult song to sing, was powerfully and beautifully sung. The umph at the end was awesome and the apology was priceless. I love Dan Vasc and everything he does!

He went up 1,000 every few days lately. So excited for him
Over the last year, there were several weeks where Dan's subs grew by as much as (just once) 6000 subs in one day! Other times, there were a number of episodes of 2000 and 3000 in a single day. Mostly, lately, he's been back to about 1000/day, and sometimes that count is stuck for 3-4 days in a row. I keep a spreadsheet (and have Nerdrotic's numbers entered as a sidenote for the last two months. I always get excited when I see a bigger change than 1000. Yaaayyy!!!

I love the fact that Dan stands by his principles and beliefs and isn’t about to bow down to those people who don’t agree with him. He is a very down to earth man who believes that one should not be downtrodden by the dissenters.
I think his rendition of this anthem is very strong and powerful and was sung for all his friends in the USA 🇺🇸

Dan Vasc is a great guy. He has personality, he enjoys what he does, he has already achieved a lot and can be proud of himself. Nothing is more boring than a lack of character and people with no rough edges. What Albert Einstein once said: "Personalities are not formed by nice speeches, but by work and one's own performance" .
I love this quote and I will be borrowing it. Another quote that I used very often in my comments is by Anton chekhov. He's says that the role of the artist is To ask questions not to answer them. I think this Cover and apology highlight that. The world is in a bad place when we start to censor art.

It's not that often that I readily stand up when this banner starts, but when Dan sings it, I literally jump to my feet!
I'm so happy you did this! When I first heard this rendition I wasn't sure I liked it, so I watched again. I decided I loved it! So strong and proud! His apology is priceless! I was taught in school to respect the flag and the Star Spangled Banner. Unfortunately, children now are taught to disrespect it.
IKR, same here. It took a few times to get past the shouting. It finally dawned on me he is capturing/channeling the spirit of the Patriots who keep yelling at the stoopid brick wall in front of them. The realization came to me after I finally heard the notes he was shouting. Like wow! Incredible vocal control!!

I live in Arizona, am not a citizen, (I'm actually British) but I choose to live here. Those that disrespect the National Anthem are actually disrespecting themselves, in my opinion. But hey, what do I know. Thank you for your reaction and respect for this young man.

Thank you so much for your great response to these 2 videos from Dan. The apology was very amusing to me. 41,000 subscribers are still missing before his dream of 1 million subscribers comes true. A few days ago the cover of "Beauty and the Beast" sung by Minniva and Dan was posted on TH-cam. On Minniva's channel you can read that it is 2 years old, but she was only able to finish it now due to her illness. Maybe this resulted in a boost in subscribers.

Watching this at 11:49 PM CST, on 02/03/2024. Yup...Dan's still at 951K at the moment. The last few days have been advancing at the rate of 1000 subs a day. Things had been slower for a while, but seem to be back to moving again. Nerdrotic is at 965K at the moment, though. So keep those subs coming, people! 😀
I love that you're wearing a Dan Bongino shirt! My husband just passed by the doorway and saw you sitting there with that shirt on, and was highly-pleased! He makes his own Ts with special sayings on them, for himself, but he also sells some, and gives some away as special birthday gifts.
I'm constantly reminding people that Dan lives in a country that has been under oppression, since he was born. That's one reason he sang the song--because he has admired the freedom found in the U.S.A., but had recognized what has been happening here, too.
I hope you'll also (at some point), react to: "H.E.A.T Cover with ERIK GRÖNWALL - "Breaking The Silence". So you know, you might GET some "heat" from doing that, because there are some "older ladies" who decided that they were singing about THEM, rather than about thing things they ACTUALLY were singing about. Erik (as with a TON of other metal singers) is also from a country which has faced tremendous oppression.

His version is full of power and admiration. My only comment about how he did this is that it doesn't reflect the actual story of the creation of that song. (This is true of many renditions of this song.) Let me explain. Apparently, many people in other countries especially see this as an aggressive song about American domination. But if you know the story of the battle for that fort (Ft. McHenry in Baltimore Harbour) it takes a different vibe. The fort was being bombarded all night by the British Navy while the Americans in the fort had cannons that couldn't reach the British ships. If the flag fell the fort fell to the British. It was a crucial battle in the War of 1812. If Baltimore fell it was a very short journey to the end of the U.S. But they hung on and the flag was still flying in the morning when the British who had used all their ammunition were then vulnerable to the cannons and the ammunition the Americans still had if the British sailed close enough to try to take the fort. The British were arguably the greatest navy and probably army in the world at that time. I wish more people knew what the song actually refers to. The bombs bursting in air were shot by the British, the Americans didn't shoot that night; they would have simply wasted their ammunition for nothing. They sat and took a horrible pounding but refused to surrender. Therefore, it's a song about America's endurance, bravery and survival against great odds.
I'm gratified he has such admiration for the United States of America and sang our national anthem. I too loved Whitney Huston's version and think it's very beautiful as well.
Dan sang shouted the song to the brick wall of political incorrectness. Just like real Patriots feel, & often do, except Dan held the tune.

I absolutely adore Dan. His music his philosophy on life His humility his personality Et cetera. However, 1 must never forget the hair . The world Will become a dangerous place when people start to censor Art. Already in American high schools teachers cannot teach about Greek culture and art because the statues aren't wearing any clothes. In at one school a teacher was fired because of this. No Virtual visits to the Guggenheim, MOMA, Louvre, The Met, The Getty, The Smithson, The national gallery of art, The acropolis, The van Gogh museum, The art institute of Chicago,

National championship 2023. Another performance that has gotten a lot of attention is Chris Stapleton performing at super bowl LVII. The 1st cover I ever heard of the star spangled banner was by none other than Jimi Hendrix At Woodstock in 1969. I was only 6 at the time so I heard the video much later.

First of all, I love that Dan Bongino t-shirt. Wear it often and displayed proudly. He's awesome. If you haven't seen his story told to Joe Rogan about mtg DJT in FL & the "crab dinner offer", that was hilarious.
Secondly, I agree with you about Whitney Houston's "traditional" version of the Star Spangled Banner which set the bar at a ridiculously high level.
However, my 2nd favorite version of our National Anthem is actually by a group which was called Madison Rising (no longer together, unfortunately). The video is still on TH-cam. Their former lead singer, Dave Bray, is a Navy/USMC veteran and they do a rock version that has always been one of my all-time favorite ones even adding a really interesting extra line or 2 for a more recent declaration: "for those unaware, that flag is still there...". Dave Bray still performs mostly patriotic, God & country music, tributes to 1st responders, etc, and he has a unique version of Amazing Grace w/Taps interwoven that will touch your heart. He has a channel so go chk it out. Dan Vasc's & Dave Bray's versions of Amazing Grace are my absolute favorites with Dan's being the best "traditional" version.
As for Dan's version of our National Anthem being shown today, which is fully high octane while being respectful, that was a gift to us from someone in another country who admires us and it was a sincere, beautiful homage in honor of our IndependenceDay. I do think the ones upset were mostly Brazilian. That "apology" was absolute golden. I wondered if you'd already seen it because of your passive reaction & I was right. Lol. When I first watched it, I hadn't yet seen the video of him doing the Anthem, which I remedied asap & loved his version, but I knew just enough already about Dan that I was really confused as to why he would be apologizing. I was starting to get a bit upset when I noticed Dan was bowing his head a bit & looking away. I thought - "ok, he's about to throw a Dan curve ball". I thought I was gonna fall off my chair laughing & clapping when he showed his "written note of apology" and continued with that speech. Gotta love Dan for that and so many other reasons. I did the same, when he got to that part, the first time I saw it, too. I was literally holding my breath, thinking, "I don't know Dan very well yet, but I really just can't imagine him making an apology like this!" I was HUGELY relieved and joyful, when I heard..."...rest of the story." 😀

@@Kenautje I think that's kind of how a lot of U.S. citizens feel about the "Star Spangled Banner," as well. It's just something they've grown up with, and depending on their age and what has been taught them in school, the importance of the words themselves, and their origin, has kind of dropped from sight.
Knowing the English translation, now, of the Dutch Anthem, I can understand why someone not really understanding WHY it was written in the first place might find it rather nondescript and even boring. It would take delving a little into the history of William of Nassau, just as it does into the history of The Star Spangled Banner, and when and how it was written by Francis Scott Key, after he witnessed the wonder of the flag still flying over Fort McHenry, because the soldiers themselves KEPT IT FLYING, even when many of them were killed, in the long run.
Daniel also sings the song from the game Dragon Ball Z ... in Japanese. Plus he sings the intro prayer for the song "Fairy Tale," which is a scripture blessing...in Latin.
Being a choral singer all of my life, I've sung a ton of songs in different languages as well. Generally speaking, you don't have to KNOW the language well, or sometimes even UNDERSTAND it. You just have to hear it sung a couple of times, and learn to sing the words the way it is written, and/or the way you've HEARD it. If you're doing it often, it can simply become routine. A lot of people probably never learn to translate the words into their own spoken language. For me, I must do the research. It's just part of me, to know and UNDERSTAND the words when I sing them. 😀
For instance, knowing that the Latin words, "Gloria in excelsis deo," mean, "Glory to the Lord (or King) most high," is utterly important to the way one would sing the words...are you just "parroting" them? Or do you actually MEAN them?
In the Fairy Tale song, the Latin blessing at the beginning is:
Iesum, salvator mundi
Tuis fámulis súbveni
Quos pretióso sánguine
Quos pretióso sánguine
Redemísti
In English, the words mean:
Jesus, the savior of the world
I am supported by your friends
Whom with precious blood
Whom with precious blood
You have redeemed

In that song, where the young lady has lost her love to death, the words of the song indicate that that the young man is still alive...in the stars...created by God, which is rather interesting when you see, in the Bible, that God created the stars, and that He has never lost a single one.
Knowing a little more about the group of men in the band Shaman, who presented that song in the first place is also interesting.
The first three men in this listing, have been very important in Dan's life:
The band was formed in mid-2000, when musicians Andre Matos (vocals, keyboards, ex-Viper), Luis Mariutti (bass, ex-Firebox) and Ricardo Confessori (drums, ex-Korzus) left the band Angra. At the time the band was assembled, they did not have a guitarist, so Hugo Mariutti, formerly of Henceforth, was initially hired to assist in the compositions. Later they permanently integrated him into the band. 😀
