I would love to see Australia and New Zealand bid for a FIFA Men's World Cup in the future.

It's great to have NZ as part of the bid and hosting; however, Australia could have done this on their own. Add in the new stadium in Townsville, plus Gold Coast, Canberra and (if FIFA allow 3-venues in one city... oh wait, they had them all in pretty much one city in Qatar) Parramatta. Just on AAMI Park, erm... Melbourne Rectangular Stadium (rolls off the tongue, hey?) looks great but actually has some pretty horrible sightlines, especially when you're seated next to one of the vomitories. The large concrete stair areas mean you have to stand and look over them.

Forsyth Barr is a sponsor name (NZ financial firm). Think the official name is Otago Stadium (which is the region that Dunedin is located in).
That mega screen (Great Southern Screen) at Stadium Australia is epic, used well in player intros at the games.
Albeit in game mode it's just a scoreboard, two TV screens and some ad boards.

The issue hasn't been the quality of the stadiums which Australia particularly has a lot of . The time zones of NZ and Australia hasn't made it appealing to European broadcasters . Given the need to grow the game I would of assumed a friendlier time zone might of been the deal breaker when the proposals were considered. Then again knowing Fifa history with dubious and corrupt decisions thats always in the back of minds. I actually live in NZ so Im happy they have chosen this part of the world.

Sadly, most stadiums here in NZ are rather old, smallish and not really upto modern standards really, especially Eden Park, such a hole of a place to have major games, and as a cricket ground it’s a joke. Auckland lost its chance to have a proper modern stadium down at the waterfront for the last rugby World Cup, but alas Eden park backers ran a hefty campaign to destroy anything new being built and consequently Auckland has been stuck with the old dog for years now. We do not even have a “national stadium”, (despite media promoting it as such). Maybe the women’s soccer world cup will help promote new investment and new stadiums in the future, since it will show the poor quality available in NZ currently, compared to most of those shown in Aust at any rate.
